Nina Dobrev was on MTV’s The Seven yesterday evening to talk about her Seventeen Fitness cover and to tease the last few episodes of the Vampire Diaries Season 2.
And over in the CW’s Vampire Diaries Lair, Candice Accola and Nina have more from their behind the scenes peek at filming, featuring appearances by Michael Trevino, Ian Somerhalder, and Matt Davis. Click the screencap below to view at cwtv.com – international fans can view it, too!
Zap2It‘s Carina MacKenzie is back with another of her on-set Vampire Diaries interviews, this time with Matt Davis – and Alaric’s having a hell of a time lately, right? He discusses Alaric’s recent evolution and whether we’ll see the history teachin’ vampire hunter get more involved in the action, Alaric’s relationship with Jenna, and his interest in possibly directing an episode of TVD.
Now that he’s surrendered his life-saving ring to John, Alaric is in danger of dying… and, of course, of being turned into a vampire, though Davis thinks that’s unlikely. “I mean, I think it’d be cool!” he says. “Chances are I won’t. I don’t think so, but with this show you really don’t know. You call, you try to find out. Should I extend my lease? Should I buy a couch?”
TV Fanatic has posted their on-set video interview with Matt Davis in which Mr. Davis discusses where Alaric buys his wonderful toys, his idea for an Alaric-centric spin-off, saving the world through Twitter, and generally dances around every single question (the interview was taped before Know Thy Enemy aired, so you can imagine). There’s also a cameo by an off-camera Sara Canning.
Two new Mystic Diaries videos are up, this time featuring Nina Dobrev (again, busy lady!) and in his very first MD appearance, Mr. Matt Davis. With additional appearances by Sara Canning, Klaus director Joshua Butler, Paul Wesley (there is a hilarious Irish-Welsh-Scottish-Italian-French-German accent battle that veers dangerously close to Bill Cosby territory, and a click-o-the-heels!), Kat Graham, and Ian Somerhalder. Oh, and most importantly, the craft services truck and Lynx the Kitty Cat. Click the screencaps to watch the videos over at cwtv.com (international fans can view them).
TV Fanatic has posted their video interview with Sara Canning, following up their previous Vampire Diaries on-set sitdowns with Ian Somerhalder, Kat Graham, Paul Wesley, and Steven R. McQueen. Sara discusses whether Jenna will find about vampires any time soon (ahem), the Isobel situation, the fun times ahead with Alaric, Elijah (and working with “charmer” Daniel Gillies), and the vampire(s) she would like to have turn her. And now that we’ve seen The Last Dance (EP218), parts of this interview are particularly funny (and it features a special appearance by heckler Matt Davis, talking about Jeff Bridges and Elijah’s hair). You can watch PART ONE below and PART TWO over at TV Fanatic.
AOL TV Squad’s The Show Girl has more from her on-set video interviews with the Vampire Diaries cast and this time Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, Katerina Graham, Steven R. McQueen, Zach Roerig, Matt Davis, Ian Somerhalder, and Candice Accola are discussing the arrival of Klaus and their wishes for Season 3 (“surviving” is a recurring theme, heh). Click the screencap below to watch over at TV Squad.
Maggie Furlong, AOL’s The Show Girl, posted this HILARIOUS video of the Vampire Diaries cast – Candice Accola, Katerina Graham, Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, Zach Roerig, Matt Davis, Steven R. McQueen, and Sara Canning – talking about all things Twitter, including who was responsible for getting the notorious #NoTwitterPaul on the service, their favorite follows, and a hilarious Arnold Schwarzenegger impersonation. Click the screencap below to watch the video over at AOL TV Squad.
This is Kat’s face when she learns Paul has a Twitter:
Priceless. Also, NEWFLASH! Steven R. McQueen is the only main cast member who remains Twitterless. #NoTweetMcQueen in full effect, so stop following those fake accounts!
The TV Chick is back with two cast interviews from her Vampire Diaries set visit, this time with Sara Canning and Matt Davis (both of whom, we might add, we love seeing pop up on the publicity radar). First up, Matt Davis discusses Alaric, his developing relationship with Jenna (and how that ties in with his relationships with Elena and Jeremy), and Alaric’s future now that Isobel is “gone.”
So what do you want to see from Alaric going forward?
That’s a good question. It’s a really good question. Because it’s been a challenge for him in terms of his purpose, now that Isobel has been squared away and that’s been removed from his focus. It’s like what does he do now? What purpose does he serve now? I think he ultimately wants to be peaceful and if that means killing a lot of vampires and werewolves and protecting the town in order to get there, then that’s what he’ll do.
And Sara Canning touches on Jenna’s role within the supernatural goings-on in Mystic Falls and what Jenn’a reaction might be when she discovers how much Elena, Jeremy, and Alaric have been keeping from her.
Jenna knows a lot about Elena’s family history that we don’t even know yet. Is it possible we might see that come into play?
I think so. I definitely think so. I mean, we’ve seen that Jenna has also been keeping a secret from Elena about being adopted and having to be the one suddenly to tell her about the adoption which is kind of insane. That’s a big thing to have to deal with when she’s not Elena’s mother and she’s just learning about this parenting role herself. I think we’ll see a little more stem from that with what she either knows or doesn’t know. And I think it’s going to really throw Jenna for a loop as well to see maybe she doesn’t know as much about her family’s history as she thought she did. And then she’ll probably feel a little bit at a loss because she’s supposed to be in the position of control and to be an actual authority figure and when they’re a lot of secrets floating around, that kind of challenges her position.
Alaric fans, have you been moping about the lack of significant Alaric Saltzman screen time this season? Well, don’t worry. Julie Plec told EW’s Hollywood Insider that they’re looking to rectify that tragic situation soon.
Plec also admitted that it has been a challenge finding a place for Alaric after the Isobel storyline came to a close last season. “His storyline was wrapped up for a while and it’s taken us longer than we wanted to jumpstart a new chapter for him. Hopefully, we’ll be able to crack that soon and really get to show him off, because we think he’s awesome.”
And in another Hollywood Insider article, Julie gives lots of juicy information about Tyler Lockwood and the upcoming werewolf mythology in the Vampire Diaries.
Fans have been wondering if/when Tyler would develop the wolves’ natural dislike of vampires. The wait is what’s fun, Plec says. “With our vampires, you have the Old World vampires that we’re slowly introducing that have a code and a set of rules that they live by, and then you have our New World vampires who are like, ‘What? Who? I don’t even know what you’re talking about’ and are much more independent, every-man-for-himself kind of vampires. The werewolves are gonna have the same sort of idea. The newbies are just like, ‘Dude, I just triggered a curse. I killed somebody. I’m a werewolf. I don’t know what the hell to do with myself.’
