The CW has been showcasing these cool cast interview videos on cwtv.com for a few weeks now, in which each actor analyzes their character and speculates what might be in store for them in the second season of Vampire Diaries. (We were waiting to blog ‘em ’til they showed up on YouTube, but that obviously isn’t going to happen any time soon.) The interviews happened during the filming of Founder’s Day, which makes them a treat considering we’re not sure the actors knew what was coming.
Still no Truth Behind Alaric video or (dare we hope?) one for Katherine, but U.S. viewers can check those posted so far over at the CW.
Here’s a direct link to each “The Truth Behind…” video on CWtv.com:
- The Truth Behind Elena: Nina Dobrev interview
- The Truth Behind Stefan: Paul Wesley interview
- The Truth Behind Damon: Ian Somerhalder interview
- The Truth Behind Tyler: Michael Trevino interview
- The Truth Behind Jeremy: Steven R. McQueen interview
- The Truth Behind Bonnie: Katerina Graham interview
- The Truth Behind Caroline: Candice Accola interview
- The Truth Behind Matt: Zach Roerig interview
- The Truth Behind Jenna: Sara Canning interview

Didn’t think we saw enough of the supporting characters last season? Want to know more about them? You’ll be pleased to hear that Kevin Williamson told Hollywood Crush that we’re going to be finding out a whole lot more about Matt, Caroline, Tyler and Bonnie this season.
Actually, Kevin said he’s excited to give the show’s sideline characters a lot more camera time in season 2. “What’s nice about this is that Matt, Caroline, Tyler, and Bonnie were all sort of our secondary characters — they are not part of the triangle. Now, all the storylines I wanted to tell last year and didn’t have time, I can tell them. I’m grateful I can tell the stories I’ve been sitting on.
Yeah, I’ll be over here furiously waving my Team Matt flag. While I do that (though feel free to join me), you guys watch the video.

This is it, folks. The final episode of the season we’ll be getting Vampire Diaries stills from. Seems kind of sad in some ways, but then we’ve got season two to look forward to once the Summer hiatus is over. “Founder’s Day”, in which Mystic Falls celebrates the town’s anniversary in style, with the promise from exec producers Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec that we’re going to have a whole pile of cliffhangers to drive us crazy over the Summer. Stills brought to you courtesy of KryptonSite. As usual, a sample below, and you can view the rest over in the KryptonSite “Founder’s Day” gallery.
UPDATE: Added the stills to our “Founder’s Day” gallery.

TV Star chats with Zach Roerig about his role as Matt Donovan on The Vampire Diaries and he provides some great insight into why audiences gravitate to his very human character (and why there’s room for Matt to grow), the success of the show, and his plans for the filming break.
What do you see as Matt’s function/purpose in the VD universe and specifically when it comes to Elena?
Matt is a constant reminder that, although incredibly strange, Mystic Falls still has some semblance of the typical American town. Up to this point he is a pretty true-to-life depiction of your all-American boy, and who wouldn’t want to see how the all-American boy will react when placed in such a bizarre situation? In terms of Elena, Matt will always connect her to the way things used to be before her parents’ death, the arrival of vampires, and every other crazy thing that she has been subjected to in the series.
