At last year’s Comic Con, the must-have Vampire Diaries freebie was the official Comic Con bag from Warner Bros.. We’re extremely pleased to exclusively reveal the art for this year’s official Vampire Diaries Comic Con bag from Warner Bros., and boy is it snazzy. The bag features Nina, Paul, Ian, and the gothic imagery that had so many of you (okay, us – we love it, too) all a-flutter some weeks back, and in the center? A full moon.

If you’re lucky enough to be attending Comic Con (July 22-25 in San Diego), you’ll be receiving one of 11 WB bags at check-in. These are THE official bags of Comic Con. For those of us not going to Comic Con, we’ll have to settle for clicking on the image below and viewing it in all its glorious detail on our monitors.

TVShowsonDVD.com received the Warner Bros. press release last night and there is now an official release date for The Vampire Diaries: The Complete First Season on DVD and Blu-Ray: AUGUST 31st.

In addition to 22 episodes of awesomeness on five discs, the set includes creator/director Pilot commentary, unaired scenes, a gag reel, a downloadable audio book of The Vampire Diaries: The Awakening by L.J. Smith (very cool!) and – shall we get to the good part? – documentary features including:

No firm date beyond ‘August’ yet, but we’ll let you know as soon as we hear anything. It’s been a long few weeks, but hopefully everyone has come through it and is eagerly anticipating a brand new episode of the Vampire Diaries on Thursday. Hopefully Vee can hold on that little bit longer without exploding from excitement that everyone else gets to see “A Few Good Men”. Getting Vee chunks out of website walls? Not easy.

We’ve had a steady stream of queries asking where one could buy Elena’s vervain necklace since the trinket was introduced in Friday Night Bites, but it looks like the CW has done fans one better. We first noticed that the official Vampire Diaries shop had replicas of Elena’s, Katherine’s, and Bonnie’s necklaces last week, but sadly they were already sold out. Good news: They’re back in stock and available for purchase (along with a few other goodies)! Click on the image to snag your own piece of TVD.

You guys have been asking for more variety in Vampire Diaries merchandise; looks like someone was listening. Thanks to @amandatran8 for the heads up on a handful of new Vampire Diaries t-shirts hitting Hot Topic – available now on their website. Color us stunned that one of Damon’s most beloved quotes from the books is featured so prominently – we’re a bit giddy about that one. We did say we had quite a few bits and bobs to post. First up, we have video of Katerina Graham’s appearance on the Mo’Nique Show last night. In her first ever chat show appearance she talks about how she started out with singing and background dancing, about Bonnie Bennett, and a message for people to work hard and believe in themselves to achieve their potential.

 
Malese Jow (you may recognise her from Nickelodeon shows) teased her Twitter followers a while back with a clue to her next project. She’s since tweeted to say that she’s been watching the Vampire Diaries and can’t wait to start filming, and has recently arrived in Atlanta. We don’t actually know what role she’s playing, but there was a casting call posted a while back for a character named ‘Anna’, and Malese certainly seems to fit the bill for the role.

IGN posted up a couple of stills from episode 10, “The Turning Point”, featuring Stefan and Damon. We note police activity in the background there. Has Damon been naughty again?
