The CW has been showcasing these cool cast interview videos on cwtv.com for a few weeks now, in which each actor analyzes their character and speculates what might be in store for them in the second season of Vampire Diaries. (We were waiting to blog ‘em ’til they showed up on YouTube, but that obviously isn’t going to happen any time soon.) The interviews happened during the filming of Founder’s Day, which makes them a treat considering we’re not sure the actors knew what was coming.
Still no Truth Behind Alaric video or (dare we hope?) one for Katherine, but U.S. viewers can check those posted so far over at the CW.
Here’s a direct link to each “The Truth Behind…” video on CWtv.com:
- The Truth Behind Elena: Nina Dobrev interview
- The Truth Behind Stefan: Paul Wesley interview
- The Truth Behind Damon: Ian Somerhalder interview
- The Truth Behind Tyler: Michael Trevino interview
- The Truth Behind Jeremy: Steven R. McQueen interview
- The Truth Behind Bonnie: Katerina Graham interview
- The Truth Behind Caroline: Candice Accola interview
- The Truth Behind Matt: Zach Roerig interview
- The Truth Behind Jenna: Sara Canning interview

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, folks, but it looks like Paul Wesley has had to cancel his previously scheduled appearance at Dragon*Con in Atlanta, which happens this weekend. If you’re still heading to the Con, Rob Pralgo (the late Mayor Lockwood) will be in attendance, and it looks like Vampire Diaries will have a few panels throughout the weekend (thanks, @mrsoshimbo). You can download an event program from the official Dragon*Con website.
We know this made a lot of Bloodlines: Insurgence ticket holders on Twitter nervous this morning, but as far as know and can tell, the Sept. 10-12 con in London is still a go for Paul, Ian Somerhalder, and Michael Trevino. The minute we hear anything different, we will absolutely let you know.

Thanks to I Heart Vampire Diaries and Snowvamp for the heads up this: Alan Murphy of Ireland’s Galway Bay FM radio interviewed Michael Trevino during filming of episode 203, and Michael chats about Lockwoods, location, and ladies. (Someone has a crush on Kate Beckinsale – is this surprising, what with her history of crushing on werewolves n’ all?) He also talks about his upcoming film, The Factory, which stars John Cusack. Take a listen to all 10 minutes below!

There’s a great season two and Tyler-centric interview with Michael Trevino over at TV Fanatic, touching on the subject of playing the supernatural, wolves, developing the character of Tyler, his relationship with Mason Lockwood, and what we can expect for Tyler in upcoming episodes.
What else can we look forward to this season?
We’re filming episode three right now, and I can tell you that there is a lot of Lockwood going around. We’re seeing the day-to-day of Tyler, and a lot of scenes take place in my house now. That didn’t happen in season one. I don’t think we got to know Tyler as whole, just an angry, bully of a kid in season one. Now, we’ll be able to see Tyler when he’s calm and not trying to pick a fight with somebody. Episode three is a big episode. There’s something really important that Tyler realizes and there’s a big revelation for Tyler.
And as if a shiny season 2 trailer wasn’t enough for today, KSiteTV posted a couple of Vampire Diaries images – a decent quality version of that new promo with Elena holding hands with Stefan and Damon, and another still from The Return. Click on the images to check out the larger versions in our gallery.

We see trouble on the way… Late last night/early this morning, Michael Trevino posted an eerie shot of the woods, along with what we’re pretty sure is confirmation that Season 2′s third episode is titled Bad Moon Rising. He definitely confirmed the ep’s director, Patrick Norris, who has worked on Friday Night Lights, Chuck, and Gossip Girl, amongst many other shows.
As far as we can tell, this new Season 2 footage was included in the CW’s preview program of its upcoming show roster. It’s a rollercoaster ride of a 20 seconds, so hang on tight. Thanks to The Vampire Diaries: Blood Falls.
