AfterElton.com did a set visit recently, and spoke with Ian Somerhalder, Zach Roerig and Joseph Morgan about all things TVD.
In this article, the actors talk about their respective characters, shooting on location and the effects of their hectic schedules. Joseph Morgan touches on an issue of interest to many: whether or not Klaus is softening up.
“I think we are transitioning to making him a little more sympathetic,” Morgan observed. “We’re starting to learn the motives behind why he does what he does. But I think just like in life everything isn’t always polarized. He’s not good or bad. He’s layered. So, the more we learn about him the more maybe we’ll empathize or sympathize with him, but he’s always going to have done the things he’s done…I personally hope that he doesn’t just suddenly miraculously become good. I feel like there should be a chance of redemption for everyone, but he’s still going to carry that stuff with him.”

There’s another trio of actors that has everyone talking today…we’re all still reeling from the red-hot Vampire Diaries covers on Entertainment Weekly this week. Looks like EW isn’t done sharing goodies, but you may want to set the shower to its coldest setting before you check out this behind the scenes video from the photo shoot. Just remember, you’ll need to ‘like’ the page in order to view the video!

Yesterday, members of the media were invited to a special screening of tonight’s new (and highly anticipated) episode of The Vampire Diaries: Dangerous Liaisons (EP314), and they’re hinting we can expect healthy doses of angst alongside those sharp tuxes and glittering ballgowns. Is anyone surprised? First up, members of the TVD cast – Zach Roerig, Candice Accola, Kat Graham, Nina Dobrev – tease what’s coming tonight and in future episodes in another E!Online set visit video.
As for the finished product, E!Online has this to tease (SPOILERS):
Elena shares some very intense moments with both Salvatore brothers, including a scene where one of the brothers drops three very important words. Fans of both couples should prepare for some major angst, including Elena hurting Damon and possibly causing the return of the old Damon. We won’t lie, we kind of missed him!
On a related note, Zap2It also teases the triangle and five other things about tonight’s episode (SPOILERS):
Elena is caught in a virtual tug-of-war throughout the episode (at one point, they literally each have her by the arm). The question, as always, is whether Stefan can find it in himself to care about Elena — and whether or not she still wants him to care about her at this point. That will pretty much be answered by the end of the hour. Per usual, Paul Wesley’s performance will give you goose bumps.
Julie Plec was on hand for a Q&A during the episode screening yesterday, and The Insider has this amusing tidbit to share:
When I asked her about the likelihood of non-Mystic Falls law enforcement agents ever coming to town (ya know, like if this mysterious stabber continues his/her reign of terror for much longer), Julie said, “Truth be told we’ve had the “FBI Agents Come to Town” pitch on the board since episode three of season one. As this thought that somebody, at some point, is going to have to come to this town and be like, ‘What the hell is going on here?!? Sheriff you’re fired!’”
And if you need even more photos from Dangerous Liaisons, Hollywood Life has a handful of exclusive behind-the-scenes photos from filming.

Who’s ready for Matt Donovan to step up? We are! We are! So is Zach Roerig, who spoke a bit about Matt’s state of mind in this interview with TV Fanatic.
“His friends are starting to see that they can lean on him when they’re feeling low,” Zach Roerig just told me over the phone. “And Matt is starting to realize none of them should have to live this way. He’s kind of sick of all this sh-it.”
Zach goes on to talk about his role as the lone human among the Mystic Falls teenagers, and how his character is evolving, thinking smarter and becoming more serious about being there for his friends…even in risky situations. READ THE FULL INTERVIEW AT TV FANATIC.
What, you want more Matt news? We can do that! Zach Roerig also spoke with Zap2it, and reveals that Matt Donovan may have more skills than we previously considered.
“Matt Donovan is a jack of many trades!” he laughs. “Do you know how many books Matt reads? What else is he doing with his time? The only reason Matt is so polite – he’s never had a father figure, no one to lead by example – so the way I see it, Matt obviously has read Emily Post’s Guide to Etiquette. He hangs out in the break room at the Grill and teaches himself to dance. Clearly.”
Team Matt, are you still with us? Take some deep breaths and then READ THE REST OF THE INTERVIEW AT ZAP2IT. Just remember, it’s been a pretty amazing day for Vampire Diaries fans, so pace yourselves, okay?
If you STILL need a little more to get you through until tomorrow night, Entertainment Weekly has a special video edition of their Spoiler Room feature. It includes a section with Nina Dobrev talking about tomorrow night’s episode, Dangerous Liaisons (EP314). WATCH THE SPOILER ROOM VIDEO HERE AT ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY.

THIS POST IS A STICKY (BECAUSE IT’S A BIG DEAL). KEEP SCROLLING FOR NEWER POSTS.
UPDATE: SEE ALL THREE COLLECTIBLE COVERS HERE AT EW.COM. YOU CAN ORDER THE SET HERE.
UPDATE #2: Check out MORE PHOTOS from the shoot at EW.com.
UPDATE #3: Thanks to EW for passing along a bigger version of the cover! View in Gallery.
Thanks to the eagle-eyed @epnebelle in NYC, we have our first look at Paul Wesley, Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder on the cover of the February 17th edition of Entertainment Weekly. And yes, it is absolutely real. Details are scant as of right now, but we expect EW will have more soon now that the cat’s out of the bag, including a nice clean version of the cover. The cover implies there will be three different versions available (we’re speculating possibly one of the three, one of Nina and Ian and one of Paul and Nina, but that’s just speculation) and should be hitting newsstands any day now. Watch this space for more details as we get them!
UPDATE: Entertainment Weekly has posted ALL THREE special covers – and holy crap, y’all. As we speculated, the other two covers are Ian/Nina and Nina/Paul. They’ve also posted a teaser of the feature article.
This week’s EW cover story also features interviews with Vampire‘s stars — Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, and Paul Wesley — who talk about keeping the love triangle red-hot, where they fall in the Stelena-Delena shipper wars, and all rumors swirling around their real-life relationships.
In the meantime, VIEW THE COVER HERE. If that link is down, try here.
HUGE congrats to the cast/crew of Vampire Diaries!

We mentioned Nina Dobrev‘s feature in the February issue of CBS Watch! Magazine last month (and tweeted a photo of the spread on Twitter), but looks like Watch! has finally added the profile – titled The Dobrev Diaries – to their website. You may still find the issue (with The Good Wife‘s Matt Czuchry and Archie Panjabi on the cover) on your local newsstand.
It’s called “having a moment.” The Vampire Diaries’ Nina Dobrev arrived at the red carpet of the 63rd Emmy Awards on Sept. 18 and stood serenely before the wall of photographers, her crimson strapless gown—all dangerous curves and soft flounces—a jaw- dropper, hair and makeup impeccable. Just like that, a new It girl was born, and the 22-year-old actress’s life would never be the same.
READ THE ENTIRE FEATURE AT WATCH.
And Ian Somerhalder is featured on the cover of Status Magazine’s February issue (Status being “Asia’s youth culture magazine”). You can read the feature on him at StatusMagOnline.
As a little kid, Ian already had the glib and gab of a vampire. “I remember, I was so young, I had an imaginary friend named Ian whom my poor family had to deal with probably by a year,” Ian recalls. “Ian liked everything I liked so I asked my mom for this whole pack of gum and then she found me an hour later with my mouth full of it. And my mom said, ‘Wait a minute, Ian. I thought some was for Ian, too.’ And I said, ‘Nope, nope. Ian doesn’t like this kind.’ [laughs] So I used to do things like that. It just kinda made my mom realize that I was meant to be an actor.”
