Have you been missing the entertaining and insightful Vampire Diaries podcast featuring our very own Vee, along with The Televixen, Blast Magazine’s Connie, Lucia from Heroine TV, and From My Side of the Moon’s Lee? Yeah. Me too. But fear not, because they’re back! The Televixen has posted up their epic season 1 finale podcast, I Guess the B!tch Got the Message (title inspired by a Vampire-Diaries.net forum member). Vee would also like to apologise for her cold in that podcast. She really wasn’t well, and I’m personally impressed she remembers any of it. ;)
It’s not over for season 1 podcasts yet, either. There’s going to be a season 1 retrospective podcast over the summer, and your help is needed! The Televixen would like you to share your favourite moments from season 1, be they episodes, scenes or even fan events. Submissions need to be in by August 15th, and you can find details on where to send them over on The Televixens blog while you listen to the podcast. ;)

Michael Trevino is the latest Vampire Diaries cast member to join Lymenaide’s Paint May Lyme Green campaign. (Watch videos from Candice Accola, Katerina Graham, and Kayla Ewell.) You can view his Lyme disease awareness PSA below and head over to Lymenaide.com to learn how you can help Paint May Lyme Green. You can also follow them on Twitter: @lymenaide.
TV Guide Magazine cornered Michael, Candice, and Nina Dobrev at last night’s Young Hollywood Awards to talk about the Vampire Diaries season finale. We’ll highlight the least spoilery comment here, but head over to TV Guide Magazine to read what Candice and Nina have to say. (Candice said “tummy” – dear god, she’s adorable.)
“I think you’re going to be asking, is that person really dead?” said Michael Trevino.
From all the recaps and forum posts I’ve been reading today? Yeah, pretty much. Which makes me realize that the Vampire Diaries writers/producers have potentially pulled off a cliffhanger within a freakin’ cliffhanger. Doesn’t that violate some law of television science?
Katerina Graham is featured in the newest issue of Blag Magazine as part of their “Introducing…” series. Thanks to Bossip.com and Kat herself for the heads up. Click on the images below to see bigger versions on Bossip.com.

And last, but certainly not least, The Televixen’s Vampire Diaries podcast – featuring Melissa (The Televixen), Connie (Blast Magazine), Lucia (Heroine TV), and Lee (From My Side of the Moon) – returned with a recap of Blood Brothers and Isobel. You can stream or download “Camp Naughty Bad Fun” over at TheTelevixen.com and expect a finale podcast soon!

Twenty seconds of trailer for “A Few Good Men” last night not enough for you? Us, either. Here, have an extra ten seconds to drive yourselves nuts over with the extended trailer. ;)
The CW has also released the synopsis for episode 16, “There Goes the Neighborhood”, featuring more Kelly Donovan and some interesting dating news. Highlight/mouseover to reveal the details:
A NEW START — Anna brings a surprising guest along when she pays a visit to Damon. Elena and Stefan go on an awkward double date with Caroline and Matt, but Stefan and Matt find they have some common ground. Jenna reunites with her old friend Kelly, and Jeremy’s relationship with Anna takes an unexpected direction.
And finally, a roundup of interviews. Zach Roerig was recently a guest on the Friday Night Lights Fan Podcast. He discusses his former role as Cash on FNL and of course his current stint as Matt Donovan on the Vampire Diaries. Head on over to FNL Fans to listen. Nina Dobrev talks about what she expects to see in Elena’s future in five questions with TV Addict, Candice Accola talks to Orlando Magazine about her early career and growing up in Orlando (scroll down a bit for Candice’s section), and Paul Wesley sums up nicely what helps draw fans to the show.
“I think what the audience really loves about the show is how layered it is in terms of very gentle sarcasm and comedy. It just doesn’t take itself too seriously but yet serious enough. We’re all really proud of it.”

The intrepid Niyah of @CW_VampDiaries was at the Hot Topic Vampire Diaries Cast Tour stop in Los Angeles yesterday and managed a ton of fantastic photos and video of the madness, including part of A Fine Frenzy‘s performance. We know it was a long day of waiting, but huge thanks to Niyah for sticking out and sharing her experience with fellow fans. (And follow @CW_VampDiaries on Twitter!) Click to see bigger versions in the Gallery.
Check out the videos on @C_VD’s YouTube channel (five total). And here’s another fan video from the floor (courtesy of Jenny Rae – hi! Thanks for the email – we’re glad we could make you happy by posting your video!):
And Just Jared, Jr. has even MORE HQ photos from the event. UPDATE: And Jen from Nina Dobrev Fan, who was also in attendance, has some personal photos and a mini-recap up on her site. And AP Images has a crapton of great shots as well.
And the Unpleasantville chapter of The Televixen’s Vampire Diaries podcast is up: Nobody Puts Elena in the Corner. The ‘cast features Melissa (@thetelevixen, TheTelevixen.com), Connie (@conallen, Blast Magazine), Lucia (@heroine_tv, Heroine TV), and…me! This one was a lot of fun, as evidenced by the laughter throughout. We recorded it the night before Children of the Damned aired (that podcast should be up soon) and I think the prospect of flashbacks was making us a bit giddy.

Heat Magazine are really getting into the excitement of the Vampire Diaries and have up a little article selling the TV series to UK audiences, calling it “sexier than Twilight and less icky than True Blood, this is one vampy series you simply MUST watch”. They also have an exclusive video interview with Ian Somerhalder talking about the series, which you can view here. Sadly, there are no embed options, but we’ll be sure to add it if it crops up on YouTube. Thank you to Amy for sending us the links.
Update: Thanks to @TwilighterVN for the YouTube video link.
Kristin over at E! Online has a nice Stefan and Damon teaser for “Children of the Damned”. Highlight/mouseover to see the spoiler:
This week’s The Vampire Diaries reveals one of the biggest secrets of all: What actually happened to make Damon and Stefan hate each other? “We get to see the incident that drove them apart for the first time,” says show runner Julie Plec. Ooh, “the incident”? sounds a little Lostish! Also, we’ll see Dexter’s James Remar for the first time as Papa Salvatore. Let’s just hope he lives by a very different code than Harry Morgan!
And a little more specific:
The incident that tore Damon and Stefan apart involves their mutual love of a certain Elena look-alike vampire. Turns out, Stefan might inadvertently be the reason Katherine was locked up in the tomb, hence Damon’s desire to free her, and his unexplained hatred of his little bro.
Many thanks to Tiaria for letting us know about book publications in Russia again. As far as we can tell (with the dubious help of Google Translate), “The Fury” is out now, and Russian fans can order it over on ozon.ru. For everyone else, we have the cover to the right (click it for the larger version in our gallery). Oh, Russia, we love your wacky and unrelated covers. So much. :D
Marijó has emailed to let us know that the Warner Channel in Argentina will be running a Vampire Diaries marathon on Saturday, February 6 and Saturday, February 13 from 4pm. Update: Looks like it’s all over Latin America – thanks, Angie.
The Televixen’s Vampire Diaries podcast (featuring Melissa (The Televixen), Connie from Blast Magazine, Lucia from HeroineTV, and our very own Vee) is up: Let’s Kill All the Awesome Chicks. If you missed the first podcast, you can head over and listen to Operation Suspenders.
Finally, the TwiCon Celebrity Craft Basket we mentioned a few weeks back is open for sign-ups. If you want to contribute to a gift basket for various cast members from the Vampire Diaries, True Blood and Twilight, then mosey on over to Twilight Crafts to find out more and sign up.

IESB has posted a chat with Katerina Graham that touches on everything from working with Jasmine Guy to what’s in store in upcoming episodes of The Vampire Diaries:
IESB: Will the show continue with the same pace, giving big reveals in almost every episode?
Katerina: We’ve always had cliff-hangers. It’s always been like, “Oh, my gosh, what’s going to happen next?” There’s always something we leave the audience with to leave them hanging, so that they have to see what happens next. That’s the style of the show, and that’s the way it happens in Mystic Falls. It’s just one thing after another, after another. Just when you think something can’t happen, it happens. You just have to watch. I’m really excited for the new stuff to come out because I know that there’s going to be some doozies.
Read the entire interview at IESB.net.
We tweeted this a few days ago, but Extra names Paul Wesley one of 2009′s Breakout Stars.
And here’s a new year reminder that The Vampire Diaries Hot Topic Cast Tour is ready to roll on January 23rd in Atlanta, Georgia, with stops in Paramus, New Jersey and Los Angeles, California to follow shortly thereafter. Visit the official page over at CWtv.com for more information on how you can catch the cast and score one of Hot Topic’s new Vampire Diaries tees.
Finally, The Televixen has posted her very first Vampire Diaries podcast, which I was happy to be part of. It clocks in at nearly two hours due to touching on every single episode so far, lots of tangents, and Melissa and Connie giving me Alaric hell – but what’re ya gonna do? It is appropriately titled Operation Suspenders. (I don’t think I need to explain where the title came from.)
