THIS POST IS A STICKY (BECAUSE IT’S A BIG DEAL). KEEP SCROLLING FOR NEWER POSTS.
UPDATE #3: Thanks to EW for passing along a bigger version of the cover! View in Gallery.
Thanks to the eagle-eyed @epnebelle in NYC, we have our first look at Paul Wesley, Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder on the cover of the February 17th edition of Entertainment Weekly. And yes, it is absolutely real. Details are scant as of right now, but we expect EW will have more soon now that the cat’s out of the bag, including a nice clean version of the cover. The cover implies there will be three different versions available (we’re speculating possibly one of the three, one of Nina and Ian and one of Paul and Nina, but that’s just speculation) and should be hitting newsstands any day now. Watch this space for more details as we get them!
UPDATE: Entertainment Weekly has posted ALL THREE special covers – and holy crap, y’all. As we speculated, the other two covers are Ian/Nina and Nina/Paul. They’ve also posted a teaser of the feature article.
This week’s EW cover story also features interviews with Vampire‘s stars — Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, and Paul Wesley — who talk about keeping the love triangle red-hot, where they fall in the Stelena-Delena shipper wars, and all rumors swirling around their real-life relationships.
HUGE congrats to the cast/crew of Vampire Diaries!
We mentioned Nina Dobrev‘s feature in the February issue of CBS Watch! Magazine last month (and tweeted a photo of the spread on Twitter), but looks like Watch! has finally added the profile – titled The Dobrev Diaries – to their website. You may still find the issue (with The Good Wife‘s Matt Czuchry and Archie Panjabi on the cover) on your local newsstand.
It’s called “having a moment.” The Vampire Diaries’ Nina Dobrev arrived at the red carpet of the 63rd Emmy Awards on Sept. 18 and stood serenely before the wall of photographers, her crimson strapless gown—all dangerous curves and soft flounces—a jaw- dropper, hair and makeup impeccable. Just like that, a new It girl was born, and the 22-year-old actress’s life would never be the same.
As a little kid, Ian already had the glib and gab of a vampire. “I remember, I was so young, I had an imaginary friend named Ian whom my poor family had to deal with probably by a year,” Ian recalls. “Ian liked everything I liked so I asked my mom for this whole pack of gum and then she found me an hour later with my mouth full of it. And my mom said, ‘Wait a minute, Ian. I thought some was for Ian, too.’ And I said, ‘Nope, nope. Ian doesn’t like this kind.’ [laughs] So I used to do things like that. It just kinda made my mom realize that I was meant to be an actor.”
READ THE ENTIRE FEATURE AT STATUSMAG. (Thanks to @iammikhaila for the heads up!)
You can find Nina Dobrev gracing the cover of NYLON’s February 2012 issue and the mag has included snippets from the feature on their website, as well as outtakes from the cover shoot. Thanks to PopSugar for the peek at the cover!
On doing more films
“I want to become a different person, and that’s what working in film allows. I want to be a punk or a sweetheart or a drug addict! There are so many things to explore… Sometimes they’ll be like, ‘She’s not plain enough.’ Or ‘She’s not edgy enough.’ That frustrates me. I feel like a blank canvas, and I wish people would be a little more open-minded.”
We tweeted a glimpse from our Twitter the other night but be sure to pick up the February 2012 issue of CBS’s Watch! magazine (Matt Czuchry and Archie Panjabi of The Good Wife on the cover) for a nice fold-out feature on Nina entitled The Dobrev Diaries.
And Seventeen has an interview with Nina about how she celebrated her birthday this year, “Vampire Diaries memories,” and what we can expect on the show very soon:
17: Can you tell us about the new episodes at the end of the month?
ND: There’s a ball coming up in Mystic Falls and all the main players are invited. They don’t know what to expect because there’s a lot of tension and being at this party feels like it’s a ticking time bomb. Everyone is on guard waiting for it to go off. There’s drama on and off the dance floor — some of the characters connect, for better or for worse. And the last thing I can say is that there are some pretty pivotal things that are said and cannot be taken back. It will come as a huge surprise for the audience!
Hardly Magazine spoke with Steven R. McQueen recently and the actor shared some of his favorite music, talked about shooting in Vancouver, and a little about leaving Jeremy on set at the end of the day. The actor also asserts that he’s happy to still be on Team Human.
“I enjoy playing a human in this fantasy world,” says McQueen who is happy not to see Jeremy become a vampire, werewolf, or hybrid (part vampire/part werewolf).
In addition to the article, there are some beautiful pictures by photographer Yunice Kang, you can see them all here.
In case you missed Nina Dobrev and Joseph Morgan on KTLA Morning News early this morning, you can watch the interview below courtesy of KTLA.
The October 13th issue of TV Guide Magazine has a great Q&A with Paul Wesley and Joseph Morgan in which they discuss how Joseph won the role of Klaus, the Stefan and Klaus dynamic, what lies in store for the vampire duo, and lots more. And, as you can see, a new Season 3 promo photo to boot. The issue is on stands now so be sure to pick up a copy! Huge thanks to Denise for the scan. In case you weren’t able to crawl out of bed in time or just missed the livestream, Joseph Morgan was on KTLA Morning News this morning chatting up tonight’s season premiere of The Vampire Diaries. Thanks to Zap2It, there’s finally video!
Heads up, Vampire Diaries fans: The lovely Kat Graham will be on MTV’s 10 on Top TOMORROW – Saturday, September 10th – at 11:30am to talk up TVD’s Season 3 premiere (this Thursday!). Check out a bonus clip of Kat talking about recording her debut album below:
Thanks to @tvdfansonline for the heads up that Mr. Paul Wesley is on the Live with Regis & Kelly schedule for Monday, September 12th. It’s been a little while since we’ve had a Vampire Diaries cast member on the talk show circuit, but now that Season 3 is around the corner (Thursday, September 15th – remember? Two weeks!) we expect we’ll be seeing our cast pop up here and there.

L.A. Times reporter Amy Kaufman caught up with Ian Somerhalder on last night’s 2011 Teen Choice Awards red carpet. Somewhere in here, Justin Bieber happens. Ian seems incredulous about people actually watching The Vampire Diaries (and very grateful), dances around some Season 3 hints, and touches on being an actor actively involved with charities/causes.
