We tweeted this earlier today, but if you’re not on Twitter and somehow missed it (been spreading like wildfire): @LilMissX posted a behind-the-scenes shot of Ian, Nina, and Paul from the Greystone Mansion photoshoot. (It is not, as has been inexplicably popping up elsewhere, a set photo.) As we mentioned before, the photographer is Andrew Eccles.
Check out the photo. Looks like the final spread is going to be quite atmospheric and lovely.
(Why are we not posting it here? Reposting photos from Twitter is a gray area. We don’t repost production photos from Marcos Siega’s Twitter account at his and the studio’s request and it’s just become our de facto rule of thumb. Hope that clears things up.)

Entertainment Weekly‘s second annual Comic Con special issue will have a Vampire Diaries exclusive. Should be hitting newstands this week, so keep an eye out in stores and on their site. (Could this be what the Greystone Mansion shoot was for? Guess we’ll find out.) UPDATE: It’s not. And the “exclusive” is rather underwhelming.
UPDATE: New issue of EW out Friday, featuring Iron Man 2 on the cover.
And here’s a cool behind-the-scenes peek at a photoshoot Nina Dobrev participated in yesterday with photographer Ture Lillegraven for Entertainment Weekly’s upcoming Fall TV issue. The post is by a student of EW’s photo editor, so no news here but quite a few shots of Nina (in some killer shoes, I might add).
Also, Vampire Diaries casting calls (featured extras, stand-ins) are starting to pop up on Atlanta actors’ blogs, so those of you who have been emailing – solid info is out there online now. Good luck!

Looks like Nina Dobrev (Elena) and Kayla Ewell (Vicki) are making the publicity rounds (Paul Wesley did the same thing a few weeks ago), including stops at Seventeen and Self. The latter has a brief blurb with photos – and what’s this about Nina making a bracelet out of forks?
With filming starting soon, we just want to remind everyone that if you’re not following director Marcos Siega on Twitter, you might want to reconsider! He’s currently with The Vampire Diaries crew in Georgia, preparing for filming (starts Tuesday the 21st), but has found the time to tweet a few fun snippets about location scouting (hi, guys!) and set building. (We’re happy to see he hasn’t needed a poncho yet.)
Also, another reminder, confirmed publicly by Siega himself: the only Vampire Diaries cast member on Twitter is Katerina Graham (Bonnie). (Yes, that means @NinaDobrev is NOT Nina Dobrev – which was also confirmed through Katerina by Nina herself.)
