Klaus and Rebekah talk about the joys of fatherhood and setting things on fire – it’s a webclip for next week’s new episode of The Originals, Tangled Up in Blue (EP103)! The episode airs Tuesday, October 15th at 8/7c.
In advance of her character Rebekah’s appearance on The Originals in House of the Rising Son (EP102) tonight, Claire Holt spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about Rebekah’s reunion with her brother and more:
“Rebekah and Klaus have a history where there’s a lot of tension in their relationship. He’s betrayed her many times, and he’s never been the most loyal sibling, whereas she’s always been loyal to him,” Claire Holt, who plays Rebekah, tells The Hollywood Reporter. “There’s going to be friction, and I don’t know how he’s necessarily going to feel about having her there.”
She also discusses Marcel and a possible return to Mystic Falls.
Rebekah is set to show up on The Originals tonight, and Charles Michael Davis talked to TV Guide about the relationship his character Marcel has with the Original sister:
“[Their sexual tension] is high,” Davis tells TVGuide.com. “This is a great episode for them because it flashes back to the 1800s and also goes to present day so you’ll get an understanding of their whole relationship.” As Holt recently told us, “There’s still a really strong attraction between Marcel and Rebekah. There’s a really long history there, and I don’t think when you have a deep forbidden love that just goes away.”
He also talks about Marcel’s dynamics with Cami, Davina, and Klaus. And make sure you take a look at TV Guide’s fall TV crush video if you haven’t seen that yet!
HAPPY SERIES PREMIERE DAY! The Originals: Always and Forever (EP101) airs TONIGHT at 9/8c after the Season 5 premiere of The Vampire Diaries. Lots of interviews and such hitting the web today, so quick hits:
“Klaus is an anti-hero. He’s an antagonist. He’s always going to have that edge. That idea that no matter how good he is, he can always just mess it up for himself.”
So he won’t be selling Girl Scout cookies?
“I mean, maybe poisonous Girl Scout cookies,” Morgan says with a sneaky smile. “To girl scouts.”
The Associated Press (via Huffington Post) – ‘The Originals’ Premiere: Joseph Morgan On Klaus’ Weakness And His Fanboy Side:
AP: Klaus was a big deal on “The Vampire Diaries.” He was talked about before he showed up on the show. Did you realize how important the role was to the story?
Morgan: I thought about like, ‘You know, maybe he should have a different name like they could call him like William or something.’ And then I looked up (the character) online and I was like, ‘Oh, no. This is already an established thing. We can’t go changing this.’

How much more of Marcel’s background or journey can you reveal?
[Executive producer] Julie [Plec] laid it out in a way where all the regulars are connected in ways that we didn’t really imagine. She told us at our first table read, “All right, this is what’s going on with you and you …” We’re like, “That’s really detailed, that’s intricate, that’s deep.” Deep in the sense that you get a good feeling of it. Plus, in The Originals, being alive for a few thousand years, it’s a small world. All the characters have crossed paths. Given the fact that Marcel runs New Orleans, I’m sure he has relationships with everybody in that city.
As seen in the premiere, Sophie (Daniella Pineda) is the witch embroiled in the battle between Klaus and Marcel. And now that she’s gotten mixed up in Hayley’s baby drama, she probably wishes she’d never gotten involved. “She was never terribly invested in all of this and it’s all come down on her [since Marcel killed her sister],” Pineda says. “She’s under a terrible amount of pressure, but she’s being so careful and she’s so calculating that even though she’s terrified, she’s not going to show it. She’s also more powerful than people think.”
And here’s a super-fun piece from Entertainment Weekly: ‘The Originals’ star Joseph Morgan steals from EW offices.
When we last saw Rebekah Mikaelson, she was thrilled that Matt Donovan – the last human residing in Mystic Falls (look, close enough, okay?) – was taking her up on her offer to travel around Europe for the summer. And it looks like we’ll be treated to a peek according to Claire Holt at ET Online:
ETonline: How would you describe their European adventures?
Holt: Very dirty. Surprisingly dirty actually. When I read the first script I was like, “Wait, what? Is that a typo? Is that real?” Even when we were filming it I thought, “Are we allowed to do this?” We’re getting very risque in the 8 p.m. hour, but I think the fans are going to love it. All bets and clothes are off! However, I could have had far less attractive people to do it with. It wasn’t hard, but it was shocking.
She also discusses other things that are not Rebekah/Matt (Marcel, New Orleans, working with her best friend, Phoebe Tonkin), but we’re just so happy that something good happened to Matt, you guys. READ THE ENTIRE INTERVIEW AT ET ONLINE.
Well, things are looking . . . bloody. Just over a week before The Originals premieres, a Hollywood Reporter exclusive brings us eight new character posters, all veiled in blood. Click on Marcel below to see their whole gallery.
