Hello, fandom! We’re running a bit late with this post today – we’re sorry, we’re sorry. Just so you know, we’re changing up these Previously posts a bit, as they’re very time-consuming, so we’re working on a static list (which you can see under the cut) to the TVD landing pages of various sites and blogs that do regular TVD recaps. Previously on The Vampire Diaries, everything was going wrong for everyone all at once. Pretty much every character on the show had something go horribly wrong during this episode, and it’s safe to say that Growing Pains kicked off Season 4 with a bang. Previously on The Vampire Diaries: the decade dance was in full swing and the entire state of Virginia was sold out of table salt. There were dastardly schemes coming to fruition, an awful lot of relationship drama and (bonus!) there were waistcoats everywhere. All in all, there was a lot going on in Do Not Go Gentle (EP320), and some of it was frankly confusing, so there’s no better way to get ready for Before Sunset (EP321) than with a recap roundup to help you get it all straight in your mind.

Previously on The Vampire Diaries, things were heating up in Denver between Damon and Elena, while Stefan tried to unleash Alaric’s inner madman back in Mystic Falls. Jeremy learned (again!) that having friends can be a dangerous business and Rebekah’s life got a whole lot more complicated.

Add in a twist that dashes a lot of our heroes’ plans to pieces and you get an hour that packed a pretty solid punch. It’s been a long few weeks since this episode aired, so you may want to brush up before you strap in for Heart Of Darkness (EP319), which airs tOnight.

Sneaky, sexy, scary and sad, this episode hit a lot of different notes in a short amount of time. The Murder Of One (EP318) is coming up tomorrow, so it’s time to brush up on Break On Through (EP317) while you still can.

Previously on The Vampire Diaries, Stefan’s journals made an appearance, Rebekah crashed boys night and we can all agree now that Mystic Falls has never, ever been a safe place to live, no matter what year you look at. This episode had some great moments (one word: PIANO!) and it’s definitely worth revisiting before it’s time to Break On Through (EP317) tomorrow.
