Romance! Tears! Flashbacks! Costumes! Drunken girl bonding! Drunken girl arguing! Werewolf shenanigans! LEXI! This episode had something for everyone, and it certainly gave us plenty to talk about. These recaps will make sure you didn’t miss a thing before we plow ahead into O Come All Ye Faithful (EP409) tomorrow.
Last week’s episode (My Brother’s Keeper, EP407) certainly got the fandom talking! Catch up on any details and see what your favorite recappers thought of the episode before moving forward (or should we say backward?) to tomorrow night’s flashback extravaganza, We’ll Always Have Bourbon Street (EP408). Feel free to link to other recaps in the comments if you see one you’d like to share that isn’t already on the list.
Hello, fandom! We’re running a bit late with this post today – we’re sorry, we’re sorry. Just so you know, we’re changing up these Previously posts a bit, as they’re very time-consuming, so we’re working on a static list (which you can see under the cut) to the TVD landing pages of various sites and blogs that do regular TVD recaps. It would be a huge help if you posted any potential additions in the comments so we can get them on the list. Be sure to post the link to a feed for TVD recaps. Thanks!
Right, so, LAST WEEK: Those were some shenanigans, right?
Happy TVD Thursday Eve!
First up, we’d like to let you know that Crissy Calhoun’s review is on its way, just late. She apologizes.
Secondly, reactions to this particular episode were all over the place, so there is some entertaining reading to be had when you click on any of the recaps below.
Previously on The Vampire Diaries, everything was going wrong for everyone all at once. Pretty much every character on the show had something go horribly wrong during this episode, and it’s safe to say that Growing Pains kicked off Season 4 with a bang. Need to brush up on the details before tuning in tomorrow night? We’ve got you covered with recaps galore!
Previously on The Vampire Diaries…Season 3 ended with a splash in The Departed (EP322).
With Season 4 premiering tomorrow night, this is your last chance to brush up on the Season 3 finale before we strap in for the next ride.
Shall we begin?
Previously on The Vampire Diaries, Klaus showed off his Original Dodgeball skills, the Board of Education would like a word with Mr. Saltzman about appropriate classroom behavior and everybody failed first aid. The Departed (EP322) airs tomorrow night, so this is your last chance to get caught up before the curtain comes down on season 3.
Previously on The Vampire Diaries: the decade dance was in full swing and the entire state of Virginia was sold out of table salt. There were dastardly schemes coming to fruition, an awful lot of relationship drama and (bonus!) there were waistcoats everywhere. All in all, there was a lot going on in Do Not Go Gentle (EP320), and some of it was frankly confusing, so there’s no better way to get ready for Before Sunset (EP321) than with a recap roundup to help you get it all straight in your mind.
Previously on The Vampire Diaries, things were heating up in Denver between Damon and Elena, while Stefan tried to unleash Alaric’s inner madman back in Mystic Falls. Jeremy learned (again!) that having friends can be a dangerous business and Rebekah’s life got a whole lot more complicated.
All in all there was a lot going on in this episode, so here’s a whole crowd of recaps with which you can refresh your memory before Do Not Go Gentle (EP320) airs tomorrow night.

Previously on The Vampire Diaries, Rebekah was getting her revenge on, Klaus was bothering Bonnie and Alaric was unwittingly upping the stakes. Add in a twist that dashes a lot of our heroes’ plans to pieces and you get an hour that packed a pretty solid punch. It’s been a long few weeks since this episode aired, so you may want to brush up before you strap in for Heart Of Darkness (EP319), which airs tOnight.
