Friday evening was the CW’s panel presentation at the 2011 Winter Television Critics Association, fittingly titled Kick-Ass Women of the CW. In addition to Hellcats’ Aly Michalka, Nikita‘s Maggie Q and Lyndsy Fonseca, Smallville‘s Erica Durance, our very own Candice Accola and Nina Dobrev represented Vampire Diaries. Tweets were a-flyin’ during the panel itself, and we’ve collected a selection of photos below and visit the 2011 Winter TCA album in the Gallery to view all of them.

Well, this episode certainly brought out a lot of mixed feelings amongst the audience and dedicated recappers. But no matter how you felt about the various plans in action this episode, you have to admit the intentions were (mostly) good. Love is blind…but it’s also awfully dumb sometimes. And speaking of awful – tomorrow night’s episode marks a big moment in Tyler’s existence, and after last week we’re dreading it as much as he is. For the record, if you start noticing that we’re calling Jeremy “Jeremy Bond” instead of “Jeremy Gilbert,” it’s not a mistake. At all. I’ll go ahead and admit it. I’ve been very vocal in wanting the Vampire Diaries love fest, whether it be some type of panel or cast appearance or autograph signing, to make its way north of the US border to my home and native land. I still haven’t given up hope that something will eventually happen in Canada, but for now, my TVD thirst has been quenched. How excited was I to learn that a Vampire Diaries panel had been added to New York Comic Con? VERY, especially considering that I was already heading down to the Con with my significant other and my friend Sheryl, who just happens to be the person who introduced me to The Vampire Diaries series.
The weekend in NYC was great, but it wasn’t without its challenges. First, the hotel had no water for 24 hours. I nearly became a convention hygiene cliche! Second, the Javits Convention Center is a black hole encased in solid concrete. And third, purchasing wifi access in the convention center proved to be fruitless. Those obstacles aside, I decided nothing was going to keep me from savoring every moment of the moment I’d waited all weekend for … The Vampire Diaries Panel!
