Rolling Stone has posted photos and a behind the scenes video from their upcoming feature with Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, and Ian Somerhalder.
The shoot, which involves the actors leaping off of a platform on to a mattress, may have left Somerhalder “a little bruised,” but Dobrev is into it. “There’s something sort of deadpan and expressionless about it,” she says. “And at the same time, we all feel like rock stars.”
The issue hits stands August 19th. CHECK OUT A SELECTION OF PHOTOS AT ROLLING STONE and watch the BTS below. Thanks to Paul Wesley Web for the heads up!

Rolling Stone magazine’s Peter Travers chats with Nina Dobrev about Vampire Diaries, Katherine and Elena, how Nina, Paul, and Ian got so shiny in this promo picture, and LOTS of other fun banter. Plus Nina bites Mr. Travers – may that be a cautionary tale for any reviews he does of future movies starring Nina. Ahem.

We’re not 100% sure where this was originally posted (if you know, please drop a comment so we can credit accordingly), but thanks to Vampire Diaries Italia for bringing it to our attention. We knew Ian would be featured in an upcoming issue of Rolling Stone and this seems to be the first photo from that feature. Hopefully there will be more! He may or may not be featured in the upcoming issue with Mad Men on the cover – we’ll let you know when we know for sure. UPDATE: Yep, it is the Sept. 16th issue and he has a centerfold – The Vampire: Damon as one of the best characters on TV.
UPDATE: The picture seems to have originated with @Mary_Slav on Twitter. Thanks, @SYcinetwilove!

Thanks to the eagle-eyed folks at Media Blvd: Ian Somerhalder for this piece of awesome: Rolling Stone‘s pop culture critic Rob Sheffield examines The Vampire Diaries in the magazine’s newest issue (Black-Eyed Peas on the cover). Click the image for an easily readable version and make sure you pick up a copy! And while you’re at it, please pick up Sheffield’s book Love Is a Mix Tape, which made me sob my guts out (on public transportation! without shame!).
As for the piece itself – agree? Disagree?
