The Vampire Diaries TV SeriesEntertainment Weekly‘s Mandi Bierly catches up with Sara Canning to discuss what lies in store for Jenna in Season 2 now that she’s in a relationship with Alaric, how Uncle John may screw that all up, and hints that something more significant will go on between Jenna and Elijah (!!!), though she’s coy about what that means.

Speaking of the Originals, we know Elijah (Daniel Gillies), who’s posing as an author researching small towns, has already met Jenna, who got roped into playing Historical Society hostess in the last episode. Will they be seeing more of each other? “Yes,” Canning says. “When Elijah first comes to town, they have a pretty introductory kind of ‘hello, what are you up to here, this is what I do’ relationship. But we’ll see that grow into something else. And that is all I’m saying.”

Zap2It’s Carina MacKenzie chatted with Katerina Graham about her music being featured on the show. Be sure to head on over to Zap2It to watch the video of the first part of the interview.

Executive producer Kevin Williamson and music supervisor Chris Mollere loved the song and included it in a schoolyard scene where Tyler (Michael Trevino) and Matt (Zach Roerig) hash out some uncomfortable apologies. “I love that it wasn’t actually for my scene,” Graham says. “I loved that. I was really grateful for that; it kind of shocked me. It’s just a fun cover I wanted to do. No high expectations.”

The folks over at Candice Accola Web and Michael Trevino Online have some outtakes of Candice, Michael and Sara from a NYLON photoshoot. Check out the shot of the three of them below, and be sure to head over to their galleries to check out the rest.

E! Online has some tidbits about Bonnie, Luka and Jeremy, while Ask Ausiello fills us in on which of the two boys Bonnie will be kissing. Also, casting for Klaus is still a mystery. And on the interesting trivia front, Julie Plec reveals to PopWrap that Friday Night Lights actor Grey Damon auditioned for the part of Stefan.

Finally, a roundup of awards results that the Vampire Diaries were nominated for. Sadly, no category wins for the People’s Choice Awards, but the show did snag some in other awards. WetPaint’s “Show Stalkers” awards saw the Vampire Diaries win Biggest Girl Crush of 2010 (Katherine), Best Bromance of 2010 (Damon & Alaric), Best One-Liner of 2010 (Damon’s “That’s for me to know and for you to dot, dot, dot.”), Grossest Moment of 2010 (Damon ripping out Mason’s heart), and Characters We Wish Could Have Been Brought Back From The Dead in 2010 (Mason Lockwood). The show also won some Reader’s Choice categories in the Buzz Focus Best of 2010 awards, including Best Couple (Elena & Stefan), Most Awkward Couple/Most Sexual Tension (Damon & Elena) and Best Undead Series.

TV Guide‘s Robyn Ross has yet another cast video interview from her Vampire Diaries set visit earlier this month. This time she chats with Sara Canning about Jenna’s relationship with Alaric, Isobel, Katherine, Plan B‘s infamous stabbing scene, and how Jenna might feel about what’s really going on in Mystic Falls.

“I think if she were to find out it would be such a betrayal,” Canning said. “We’ve seen Jenna with her claws out a few times [but] … I really want to see what she’s actually capable of.”

Thanks to the always lovely Robyn Ross for allowing us to embed the video!

TV Guide‘s Robyn Ross brings us more video interviews from New York Comic Con. Kevin Williamson talks about the decision to turn Caroline and Zach Roerig explains why he’s “proud to be a puppet.” Meanwhile, Katerina Graham explains the circumstances that could cause Bonnie and Damon to work together, and Sara Canning cleverly – as we now realize – dances around the whole “When will Jenna know? How does this affect her relationship with Alaric?” issue.

I’ll go ahead and admit it. I’ve been very vocal in wanting the Vampire Diaries love fest, whether it be some type of panel or cast appearance or autograph signing, to make its way north of the US border to my home and native land. I still haven’t given up hope that something will eventually happen in Canada, but for now, my TVD thirst has been quenched. How excited was I to learn that a Vampire Diaries panel had been added to New York Comic Con? VERY, especially considering that I was already heading down to the Con with my significant other and my friend Sheryl, who just happens to be the person who introduced me to The Vampire Diaries series.

The weekend in NYC was great, but it wasn’t without its challenges. First, the hotel had no water for 24 hours. I nearly became a convention hygiene cliche! Second, the Javits Convention Center is a black hole encased in solid concrete. And third, purchasing wifi access in the convention center proved to be fruitless. Those obstacles aside, I decided nothing was going to keep me from savoring every moment of the moment I’d waited all weekend for … The Vampire Diaries Panel!

Sorry, I could sum up the topics touched on in this IGN video from New York Comic Con, but I am way too busy laughing myself silly over Steven R. McQueen’s total surprise that Damon didn’t see the ring and Julie Plec setting him straight. Hilarious. (Chat with Kevin Williamson, Zach Roerig, Sara Canning, and Kat Graham, too!) Thanks to @VDSource for the heads up!

The Vampire Diaries TV SeriesWetPaint has a brief (three fan questions!) interview with Vampire Diaries executive producer Julie Plec and she drops some heavy duty tidbits, including what we can expect on the Tyler front as we head towards the holiday hiatus. (Which, if the math gets confirmed, might happen as late as December 2nd, assuming they skip an ep the week of Thanksgiving? We’ll let you know for sure when the final schedule is confirmed by the CW.)

The folks over at TVD promise that the Lockwood family curse won’t turn out to be a big teen wolf tease. In fact, Julie says we can probably expect Tyler to put the hair of the dog on his chest before Christmas. “I can’t be super specific about it. We’re still figuring it out. But it will probably be Episode 11, which will be the episode that takes us into the holiday hiatus.”

HOLY CRAP, right? This has been playing a huge role in the debate of those upcoming death rumors and this makes the timeline a whole lot more interesting. She also touches on the resemblance between Katherine and Elena and Stefan and Katherine’s smokin’ hot chemistry. READ THE ENTIRE ARTICLE AT WETPAINT.

SyFy’s Blastr has clues from Kevin Williamson on what viewers can expect in upcoming episodes (most of which has surfaced in previous NYCC reports):

“In the book, they have this mythology about all this blood being shed in this town during the Civil War. Wherever there was bloodshed, it attracted all the things that go bump in the night like vampires, werewolves and witches. I have another mythology that expands on that as to why Mystic Falls ultimately becomes one of these places that draws all this stuff to it.”

BuzzFocus has NYCC red carpet video interviews with Sara Canning and Katerina Graham, as well as Zach Roerig and Kevin Williamson. Click the links to watch on their site.
