Have you been missing the entertaining and insightful Vampire Diaries podcast featuring our very own Vee, along with The Televixen, Blast Magazine’s Connie, Lucia from Heroine TV, and From My Side of the Moon’s Lee? Yeah. Me too. But fear not, because they’re back! The Televixen has posted up their epic season 1 finale podcast, I Guess the B!tch Got the Message (title inspired by a Vampire-Diaries.net forum member). Vee would also like to apologise for her cold in that podcast. She really wasn’t well, and I’m personally impressed she remembers any of it. ;)

It’s not over for season 1 podcasts yet, either. There’s going to be a season 1 retrospective podcast over the summer, and your help is needed! The Televixen would like you to share your favourite moments from season 1, be they episodes, scenes or even fan events. Submissions need to be in by August 15th, and you can find details on where to send them over on The Televixens blog while you listen to the podcast. ;)

Thanks to Vanessa for the reminder that The Vampire Diaries premieres on New Zealand’s TV2 this Thursday, June 24th at 8:30pm. (‘Bout time, right, NZ?) Check out TV2′s Vampire Diaries website.

Television Without Pity has updated its Tubeys polls, and Vampire Diaries has once again landed in several categories: Best Drama, Guiltiest TV Pleasure, Favorite Character (Damon Salvatore), Best Badass (Bonnie Bennett, Damon Salvatore and Stefan Salvatore), Best Cast, Favorite Actor (Ian Somerhalder), Best Guest Star (Malese Jow and Mia Kirshner), Best Season Finale, Best Musical Moment (Damon/Elena dance to Within Temptation’s “All I Need”), and Best Non-Romantic Relationship (Damon and Alaric). Oh, and the CW Network as whole is nominated in the Most Egregious Product Placement category for Bing (but wow, there are worse offenders in there). You have one week to get your votes in!

And remember – YOU CAN VOTE EVERY DAY FOR VAMPIRE DIARIES IN THE TEEN CHOICE AWARDS:

The Vampire Diaries TV SeriesThe anticipation has been building all month and the moment has finally arrived: Tune in to The VRO at 9pm ET tonight as Vampire Diaries executive producer/writer Julie Plec fields your questions. As she tweeted earlier, “I’m happy to defend it, explain it, or revel in it w u, depending on topic. Or we can just talk about Paul’s abs.” Word on the street is that tonight’s show is going to be extra-special so, whatever you have to do, make sure you’re there. We have a feeling it’s going to be lots of fun.

If you missed this week’s interviews, you can listen to them in full over at Blog Talk Radio: Paul M. Sommers and Marguerite MacIntyre. And tune in for Malese Jow on Friday night and Susan Walters on June 1st.

And tonight at 8/7c, the Vampire Diaries Season One encore officially begins on the CW. The Moonlight pairing kicks off next week, June 3rd.

And, if you follow Kev and Julie on Twitter, you know the writers returned to work this week to begin Season Two. Yes, as you read this, they’re plotting how to drive you all insane. Exciting, isn’t it?

Lots going on behind the scenes here at V-D.net (good stuff!) so bear with us as we work back into a groove. It’s becoming a very interesting summer indeed.

The Vampire DiariesNow that you’ve had a few weeks to digest the epic season finale, are you ready to relive Season One all over again? This Thursday, the CW begins their encore airings of Vampire Diaries and, yep, they’re going alllllll the way back to where it started: the Pilot. Yeah, we know – soon there will be a DVD box set, you have all of the episodes downloaded, they’re on your DVR… But what about that special Thursday at 8/7c magic? That’s what we thought. There’s ritual to observe here, people. How else will you survive until Season Two begins this September? So those TVD-less friends you’re still talking to – tell ‘em no more excuses. It’s crunch time.

And to sweeten the deal, the CW has paired Vampire Diaries with re-runs of the late, lamented CBS vampire series Moonlight (oh, hey, Alex O’Loughlin) for the summer, starting June 3rd. That’s two hours of vampires. All summer long. Who needs sunscreen?

The Vampire Diaries TV SeriesFearNet has posted a conversation with Nina Dobrev and she touches on season one’s final episodes, her working relationship with Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder, playing Elena and Katherine, what distinguishes The Vampire Diaries within the genre, Elena’s journey as a character (so far), and her hopes for the second season.

Is there any particular direction in which you’d like to see Elena go in the second season?
Yeah, I definitely want to see how her relationship between the two boys progresses; and if at some point enough will be enough, and if she will decide that being around these two individuals is really worth all the pain and heartache and all the difficulties that they really put on her life. She had problems before they showed up. But it’s definitely complicated things a lot, their presence. So I’d like to see whether or not she will call it quits or keep going and fighting for what she loves.
