Entertainment Weekly‘s Mandi Bierly pried more clues from Julie Plec about the final six episodes of The Vampire Diaries (show returns tonight at 8/7c!), including tidbits about all our favorites: Matt, Caroline, Tyler, Isobel, John, Alaric, Jenna, Katherine, Elena, Bonnie, Jeremy, and yes, the Salvatore brothers. She also talks about Joseph Morgan’s dedication to his role as Klaus (we love him more and more and he hasn’t even hit our screens yet) and gives us this about the Season 2 finale, As I Lay Dying:
Expect that season finale to be an emotional one. “There’s gonna be a lot to deal with, and a lot of our heroes going through some pretty dark times and trying to come out the other side,” she says. “The one thing that we know that we don’t want to do this year is leave 13 threads dangling at the end of the season. So while yes, there will absolutely be cliffhangers in the finale, it’s not gonna be like 97. We want to let the audience feel like they have begun a ride with us at the top of the season and seen it all the way through, and that we’ve delivered a true ending to them.”

And E!Online has more “Klaus Chapter” teasing from Katerina Graham (she’s really starting to freak us out – seriously):
So it would probably be best [for Bonnie] to stay under the radar and far away from Klaus, right? Graham reveals their meeting, while not tonight, is very soon. “In this new episode Bonnie does not meet him, but she will meet him before the finale. I will say that. He is definitely making an entrance.” We couldn’t possibly believe that anyone could make a more head-turning entrance than Elijah (Daniel Gillies) or Katherine, but Graham assures us: “Oh, you have no idea. You have no idea. It’s going to freak everyone out. It’s the last thing you’d expect.”

The Vampire Diaries returns with new episodes tonight and Katerina Graham has some sobering words for fans – you need to be worried about Bonnie Bennett and every other person in Mystic Falls. Kat chats with Vlada Gelman over at the L.A. Times, touching on Bonnie and what she’s prepared to do, Jeremy, a character we may be seeing again (!!!), and gives a pretty epic tease about those Damon and Bonnie episode stills from The Last Dance (EP118).
There’s some pictures of Damon and Bonnie at the ’60s dance. Are they having a moment? Or are they just working together to protect Elena?
You will have to absolutely watch that scene. … We definitely have a scene together. It’s an amazing scene. It’ll get everyone talking. It’s just a can’t-miss moment. It definitely has to deal with a great part of Bonnie’s decision on what she’s going to do. Whether that’s yes or no, I won’t say. But it’s an incredible moment in the show.

Over at PopWrap, Kat relishes making the audience nervous:
PopWrap: I don’t like it Kat. I don’t want to be talking about her/your potential death on the show.
Kat: [laughs] No one does. Honestly, I’m in cahoots with the writers and The CW, so my job is to freak you out and make you scared, whether it’s about my death, or the finale, or Klaus coming to kill everyone – I don’t care [laughs]. I’m gonna get you guys all worked up and make you scared so you tune into every single second of the show. I will not say that Bonnie is OK after that episode, or during that episode – I hope people are worried, they should be.

Zap2It‘s Carina MacKenzie sat down with Paul Wesley on the set of The Vampire Diaries a few weeks ago to talk about all things Stefan. And there are some good things to talk about. Paul touches on Isobel’s return, why no one should trust Katherine, Stefan drinking human blood, and sheds a little light on that intriguing snippet about Stefan and Damon in The Last Day (EP220) synopsis released late yesterday.
Both Stefan and Damon have all of their attention focused on Elena, and in the April 28 episode, the whole “Delena vs. Stelena” fight will come to a head on screen. When their fight turns physical, Damon might just be surprised by Stefan.
“He has been drinking blood, slowly, every day, to gain strength,” Wesley says. “We’ve sort of set up the fact that if it were to come down to a physical altercation, and Stefan does kick some ass, it’s not completely out of left field. He’s been in the gym.”
Yes, vamp fans, it looks like Stefan’s going to win this fight.

So the internet has been a-buzz today with what we’re sure will now become a Vampire Diaries tradition: Guessing which of our beloved Mystic Falls residents will not survive the season. The biggest difference between this season and last is that the feeling of dread has reached a near-unbearable pitch due to the impending arrival of Klaus. TV Guide‘s Robyn Ross caught up with Candice Accola to talk about Caroline and Matt’s very human relationship and the very inhuman threat of someone even Katherine is afraid of. (Read the entire interview at TV Guide.)
Here comes Klaus. Before the upcoming April 21 episode, Klaus, played by Joseph Morgan, is still a faceless name that conjurs up a ton of fear and anxiety. Accola says those who were terrified when Katherine came to town ain’t seen nothing yet. “If she’s 10 steps ahead of everyone, Klaus is on the other side of the world — Klaus is on the moon!” she says. Luckily, we’ll get some history lessons soon about who Klaus is and what he wants.
And Katerina Graham dropped this bombshell to TV Guide:
“Three huge characters are going to die — solid characters — and it’s going to change the destiny of the show.”
And in addition to discussing (cryptically) what Bonnie’s role in the final showdown with Klaus is, and how our favorite Bennett witch is prepared to do what must be done to protect Elena, she had this to say to TV Line (read the entire interview):
Graham is extra tight-lipped when it comes to big bad über-vamp Klaus (played by British newcomer Joseph Morgan), save for this cryptic tease: “He’s more than you imagine. That is my secret to you. That is my riddle and my big twist.”
So what do you think THAT means, Vampire Diaries fans? And who do you think will not survive to see Season 3? Speculate away in the comments!

The CW has released the official synopsis for the April 28th episode of The Vampire Diaries, The Last Day (EP220). (These titles just get more and more ominous, no?) Highlight below for spoilers:
NEVER IS A VERY LONG TIME — Damon is willing to go to extraordinary lengths to prevent Elena from being a victim of Klaus’ plan to break the curse. Damon’s actions put him at terrible odds with Stefan and the tension that started brewing between the brothers over their differing opinions of how to help save Elena’s life blows up into full-scale conflict. Tyler returns to Mystic Falls after receiving a disturbing phone call. With the full moon marking the arrival of the sacrifice ritual, Stefan and Elena spend a romantic day together — afraid it might be their last.
The episode was written by Andrew Chambliss and Brian Young and directed by J. Miller Tobin.

Okay, now we just feel thoroughly spoiled. More Klaus, Elijah and Katherine looking absolutely stunning in 15th century garb, lit with the romantic glow of candles. And this Klaus guy? Seems kinda intense. And hot. And creepy. We are so, so conflicted. Click on the thumbnails, or head on over to our gallery for bigger versions.

The L.A. Times‘ Vlada Gelman interviews executive producer Julie Plec about “The Klaus Chapter”, aka the final six episodes of The Vampire Diaries Season 2. Weighing heavy on our characters’ minds? The long-awaited arrival of Klaus, the Original with plans to sacrifice himself a doppelganger. According to Julie, viewers should expect to see a lot of tension between Stefan and Damon over how best to protect Elena – and it’s complicated.
“Stefan is in the ultimate predicament, which is that he has this wonderfully solid, beautiful love story with Elena, but he’s also got a very complicated love story with his brother. So when he’s trying to achieve both relationships successfully, there’s always going to be a problem of ‘I can’t kick my brother’s ass because he’s after my girl without losing my relationship with my brother, but I’m not going to let my brother go after my girl.’ ”

TV Fanatic continues their set video interview spree with some witchy juju – a sitdown with Katerina Graham. Kat discusses what she doesn’t know about future storylines as an actor (including whether we’ll ever see Lucy again), whether Bonnie will swing to “the dark side” and her relationship with Jeremy, shooting light and heavy scenes (and her favorite kind to film), what she does in her free time, which vampire should turn Bonnie (if witches can be turned!), and why the cast is so terrified of the season finale.

This is a moment that Vee and I have been anticipating for a very long time: our first look at the villianous Klaus! Now, thanks to Zap2It (be sure to head on over there to read the full article), we get to see Klaus as a nobleman in a 1491 flashback (with Elijah!). Modern-day Klaus is still a mystery, but this is more than enough to whet our appetites.
ETA: Updated with full pic.
