As if tonight’s season premiere wasn’t enough, Entertainment Weekly has revealed the first glimpse of Klaus and Elijah in 12th century garb (and hair!). In the accompanying video, costume designer Leigh Leverett talks about her style choices, and which character’s look was deliberately altered a bit from the period norm.
“I look at research from the period and find the best styles… that I think fit our show,” Leverett says about the three costumes she created for the episode. “We actually built all of this in our tailor shop.”

Brace yourselves, everybody! TV Guide has revealed a brand new cold open for The Vampire Diaries Season 4, one that makes a big change from the style we’ve seen in previous seasons, it takes us back to the earliest days of the show.
In our exclusive video below, Elena (Nina Dobrev), Damon (Ian Somerhalder), Stefan (Paul Wesley), Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen), Caroline (Candice Accola), Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) all lend their voices to the narration that will kick off the upcoming fourth season. A variation of this will be used in each episode to catch viewers up on major plot points that have happened thus far.
Here they are! The CW has released 16 IMAGES from The Vampire Diaries Season 4 premiere episode, Growing Pains (EP401). Check them out in the Gallery or click on the images below. The episode airs Thursday, October 11, at 8 p.m.

It may not seem like it yet, but we’re inching towards October and new episodes of TVD. TV Guide has some news to help us along, in the form of a new episode title!
Elena Gilbert is about to go through some major changes, so it only makes sense that Season 4 premiere will be titled “Growing Pains,”
Hot off the CW presses: The Vampire Diaries returns for Season 4 on Thursday, October 11th.
On Thursdays, The CW’s top-rated series, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, returns for another season of bloody-good drama on October 11 (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET), followed by the romantic new series BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET), starring Kristin Kreuk as a homicide detective and Jay Ryan as a doctor with a very dark side.
(Yes, it’s still far away, but we will survive.)
We know it’s been a long, agonising wait for UK fans, but the dry spell is finally over (unless you’ve been keeping up with what’s going on in Mystic Falls on iTunes). The Vampire Diaries hits ours screens again tonight at 9pm on ITV2. Only a few, short hours until we find out what’s been going on since we left off back in May.
ITV2 will be displaying the Twitter #TVDUK hashtag during the episode, and will also be reading out the best or funniest tweet using the hashtag over the end credits. The ITV2 Vampire Diaries website has been spruced up in preparation, with a character gallery and story history. There’s also a Season 3 preview video up, though be warned – it’s spoilery.
