Do they think Elena will choose Stefan, Damon, or someone else entirely? Ian Somerhalder has been in Washington today to participate in a conference on energy policy. While he was there Jen Chaney of the Washington post chatted with him about a career in politics, being a sexy beast and the Lost Finale. No embed available, but you can watch the video over on Celebritology 2.0. Ian has also been talking to the New York Post about Damon’s motives and intentions this season:
PW: Well, I actually talked to Julie & Kevin last week and they revealed that there was nothing ahead for Damon but pain and misery. How are you liking his arc this season?
Ian: You get lemons, you make lemonade. I have to be honest, the softer, hurting side of Damon is definitely not my favorite but it adds dimension. It’s challenging for me to be honest because it’s counter intuitive and I don’t know where it’s going. Last season Damon had all these shenanigans, but also an agenda and at some point I found out about it. This time, a lot more like life, I don’t know what’s around the corner. I’m a feather in their wind. But I say bring it on.
And finally, Marisa Mineo tweeted fans a behind the scenes picture of Michael Trevino from tonight’s episode, Bad Moon Rising. Petitions to get Tyler Lockwood in a kilt (what? Those shorts totally look like a kilt!) can be sent to Julie Plec.

Zap2It’s Carina MacKenzie got to chat with Taylor Kinney (soon to grace our screens as Mason Lockwood) about Lockwoods, werewolves and Mystic Falls Atlanta:
Uncle Mason seems to be pretty mellow initially, especially compared to Tyler, but anger is kind of a Lockwood family tradition. Are we going to see Mason show his temper any time soon?
Of course. Mason grew up in Mystic Falls, but he left probably before college, before adulthood, and he’s come of age now. He’s learned to harness his rage and to deal with problems in a more amicable way than lashing out the way that Tyler is right now. He’s comes back to Mystic Falls because of the death of his brother, but he stays because he empathizes with where Tyler is right now. He recognizes himself in Tyler and he knows the curse that’s in their bloodline. He’s going to try to help Tyler keep from being so on edge all the time.
Thanks to @LilMissX we have a behind the scenes picture of Ian and Nina on set for you:

And finally, congratulations to Abby Delaware for winning the WB prizepack in our giveaway, Vicki Andis for winning the runner-up prize of a Vampire Diaries DVD, and to Rebecca Neale, who is the grand prize winner in our international giveaway.

It’s hard to believe the season one finale is only five weeks away. Doesn’t seem that long ago that there was a write-up in Variety, announcing that a Vampire Diaries pilot had been ordered. Take a walk down memory lane with a slew of official episode stills and behind the scenes photos from the first 10 episodes of The Vampire Diaries. We teamed up with Vampire Diaries Web to bring you over 400 new images. Click on a header to see that particular folder in the Gallery. Enjoy!
Special note: For the true die-hards and trivia buffs…pay close attention to the Haunted stills and see if you notice something interesting in the scenes with Elena, Vicki, and Jeremy. Oh, and be sure to check out what “Elena” was writing in her diary in the Pilot.
