With the Vampire Diaries set to premiere in the UK next week (Tuesday, February 2, 9pm, double dose of the pilot and “Night of the Comet”), it’s no surprise that TV guides in the UK are starting to print articles about the show. We’ve got a selection of scans for you from TV & Satellite Week, Total TV Guide, TV Quick and TV Choice (check out their extra Ian Somerhalder questions online).
Those of you who use DigiGuide will also note that the listings for the show should now have appeared. I admit it – I WooHooed when I saw them. :D
The official Spanish Vampire Diaries website has posted to say that the fifth Vampire Diaries book, “Nightfall”, is to be published in Spain on February 9, 2010. Interestingly, it won’t be titled “Nightfall”, and will carry the title “Damon” instead. We’ve got to wonder if the remaining two books in the trilogy will be named “Stefan” and “Elena”, and if that will fit thematically as the entire trilogy is reported to be about Damon. Thanks to Vampire Diaries Latinoamérica for the heads up!
Two days left, and we’re delighted to find that Ian, Nina and Paul are on the cover of not one, but two magazines today – TV Guide Magazine and NYLON.
The NYLON website has a few snippets from their February 2010 feature of the Vampire Diaries, and also a few pictures from the photoshoot.
Finally, fans in Spain can mark their calendars for the premiere of the show: February 11 on the TNT channel. (Thanks, @matx88!)
Brandon Quinn will be guest starring in the next new episode of the Vampire Diaries, “Bloodlines”, playing a character called Lee. We don’t know much about the character, but you can head on over to the spoiler zone to contribute your theories. Many of you will probably remember Brandon best from the TV series Big Wolf on Campus, where he played the hero of the show, werewolf Tommy Dawkins.
Ian Somerhalder has made TV Guide’s list of best performances of 2009. A well-deserved mention, given that Damon has stolen the hearts of a lot of people – be it due to his good looks, his snarkish wit, or the fact that he’s putting the savage bite back into vampires.
Spanish fans can celebrate with the news that the Vampire Diaries starts airing in Spain on TNT on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 10:15pm.
Vampire Diaries Fan has some promotional images of Paul Wesley and Zach Roerig up in their gallery. Update: We now have unmarked versions in our own gallery.
We also have some related pictures of Michael Trevino and Sara Canning in our own gallery which we’d completely forgotten about. Oops. Better late than never, eh?
And finally, have you voted today? Voting is still open, so take the opportunity to vote as much as possible to help improve the Vampire Diaries‘ chances of winning.

The CW has posted up the third episode of A Darker Truth. Many thanks to EMI for the headsup! This is little earlier than we were expecting, probably to do with the fact that the last episode of this would air after the Vampire Diaries premieres next Thursday if they kept it to weekly. Anyhow, in this episode our intrepid hero, Jason, makes a gruesome discovery in the forest…
On that note, there are links to videos with English, Portuguese and Spanish subtitles for both previous episodes on our A Darker Truth page. The SRT subtitle files are also available there for anyone who’d like to translate them into other languages. Portuguese and Spanish subtitles are covered, but translations for any other languages would be very welcome.
The CW now has part 2 of the Vampire Diaries web serial A Darker Truth up for you to watch. In this episode, Jason has found his prey and sets up some surprises for him…
While Jason is busy doing that, we get to see a lot of Stefan’s bedroom at the boarding house, as well as getting a glimpse at the true extent of his journalling habits. For those who missed it, you can find A Darker Truth Part 1 here.
