The Vampire Diaries TV ShowAs we get closer to the end of the season, speculation runs rampant about Vampire Diaries‘ May 13th finale. TV Guide talked to Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson and they expand on earlier teases (some from PaleyFest) with more info about “Uncle John” Gilbert (David Anders), whether Jeremy will finally learn the truth about vampires, and something book fans will recognize:

TVGuide.com: What should we expect in the season finale?
Plec: What we’ve been building to from the beginning — it’s something we took directly from the books — is this event called the Founders’ Day Celebration, which is the anniversary of the founding of the town. We’re looking into big period costumes and Civil War reenactments and maybe some parade action with some big floats. It’s going to be the big event that connects us back to 1864 and what went down back then. It messes things up so when we come back in Season 2, everyone has a reason to tune in again. There are nine “oh my God” moments.

And Ausiello has more info on the finale from Kevin and this clarification from Julie on why Vicki won’t be back:

“We are not adverse to bringing people back from the dead,” says exec producer Julie Plec, “but we would not do it with the first tragic death out of the gate. In the future, we absolutely will use those mystic tricks, but not with Vicki — as much as we loved Kayla [Ewell]. It would ruin the impact.”

For those of you who were dying for spoilers after the screening of “A Few Good Men” at Paley this weekend, TV Guide’s Megabuzz has some teasers for events that will be coming up in the Vampire Diaries.

Did Damon really kill Elena’s birth mother on The Vampire Diaries? I can’t help but feel like there’s more to this story. — Taryn
MICKEY: Well, yeah. When Diaries returns on March 25, we’ll learn once and for all who killed Isobel, and why. But you might be more interested in another shocking murder that takes place this spring. Don’t grieve too much for the victim; he or she will be miraculously brought back to life shortly thereafter. (For the record, we aren’t talking about a vampire “turning” here — he or she will really be alive again.)

Thanks to KryptonSite for confirming the title of episode 16: There Goes the Neighborhood.

Jen over at Nina Dobrev Fan has some scans of Nina Dobrev and Candice Accola, who were featured in NYLON Guys back in December, and she’s been awesome enough to share them with us.

And Seventeen has an interview with Katerina Graham up on their website.

17: How are you most like Bonnie?
KG: I’m really like Bonnie in terms of the relationship she has with her friends. She’s protective over her friend Elena, and the real-life relationship between Nina [Dobrev] and myself is the same; I would do anything for her, we’re really close. Bonnie is caring, and she’s compassionate, and she’s very much like me in that way.

The Hollywood Reporter’s Philiana Ng (@insidethetube – follow her on Twitter!) has posted two more PaleyFest red carpet interviews. The first has Julie talking about what Katherine may be doing now, Damon as hero?, Tyler’s future, when we can expect the werewolf element to surface (at the earliest), Matt/Caroline, and who’s going out on a double date?

And Kevin talks about what’s in store for Bonnie as we head towards the season finale.

And thanks to Vampire Diaries Show, we have over 100 HQ photos from the PaleyFest red carpet/panel up in the Gallery.

And, yes, miz Elena “I have pencils and I am not messin’ around” Gilbert. Oh, and did we mention the best songlist of any episode thus far? Relive those magic moments tonight, vote in the poll, and discuss with your fellow fans in the forum.

Also, @LilMissX posted this new behind the scenes still of Ian, Nina, and Paul to help soothe those hiatus jitters:

And via Michael Ausiello, a spoilery tidbit on what we can expect from Damon in upcoming episodes:

Question: How does Damon cope with the news that Katherine was never in the tomb on The Vampire Diaries? —Christine

Ausiello: “Damon spends most of episode 14 and a good portion of 15 drunk,” reveals exec producer Julie Plec. “Watching him sort of spiral into the abyss of self pity is kind of hilarious.”

William Keck over at TV Guide Magazine has some Vampire Diaries factoids and spoilers about the upcoming episode, “A Few Good Men”. The factoid? Marguerite MacIntyre (Sheriff Forbes), Susan Walters (Mrs. Lockwood) and Melinda Clarke (Kelly Donovan) have all appeared as Jerry’s girlfriends on sitcom Seinfeld. The spoilers? Are spoilerific, so mouseover or highlight to read them:

All three of Jerry’s exes pop up in Melinda’s first episode, titled “A Few Good Men,” in which Sheriff Forbes asks Damon to participate in a bachelor auction officiated by Mrs. Lockwood. Beyond that, executive producer Julie Plec says that Matt’s mess of a mom will interfere in his relationship with Caroline, while Caroline’s mother will reveal to Damon why Alaric Saltzman really came to town. As for Tyler’s cougar mom, she’ll cope with her husband’s infidelity by trying to sink her claws into Damon.

While we wait (im)patiently for an official synopsis and some episode stills from “A Few Good Men” to pop up, we’ve got some more stills from “Children of the Damned” for you to ogle at. We may have seen the episode already, but the stills really do let you appreciate the amazing detail that went into these costumes. Roll on the final flashback of the season, we say.

The Vampire Diaries TV SeriesE!’s Watch with Kristin has a few interesting Vampire Diaries tidbits, and one is actually pretty huge.

Mae in Atlanta: Please tell me some of the sexy Vampire Diaries stars are hooking up in real-life!

Not so, says Candice Accola (Caroline). “There’s so much heat going on onscreen—we’re all just a family,” Candice tells us with a laugh. “I wish there was some juice or some crazy things going down, but not really. We disgustingly all just get along, and no one’s dating.” So apparently all the drama is happening on the show? Hmph! (Check the spoiler section below for that.)

What is the obsession with everyone hooking up, anyway?

And now we head into some major spoiler territory (seriously, DO NOT READ if you don’t want to know, and best avoid the comments):

Monica: Damon and Stefan for the win! Any scoop on Vampire Diaries?

Sorry, but I only have some good news for you Damon-Elena shippers: Stefan may dabble in something very un-Stefanlike again soon, which might change him somehow, and I just can’t imagine that goes over well with good girl Elena. Also, you’ll never guess whose body is going to be found…The next few episodes are gonna be good!

Check out Kristin’s column over on E! for more. (She’s also attending PaleyFest and is taking questions for the Vampire Diaries cast – email tvdiva@eonline.com. And thanks, Kristin, for a Vampire Diaries “spoiler” finally worth blogging about!)

The Vampire Diaries TV SeriesFilmReviewOnline.com discusses the future of The Vampire Diaries with executive producers Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec. They touch on the books vs. the show, a change in the Salvatore brothers’ dynamic, a possible choice for Bonnie, werewolves, staying in Atlanta, and the beauty of special effects.

How much are you finding that you can stick with the books, and how much are you changing things because the show has taken on a life of its own?

Kevin Williamson: The show does take on a life of its own, but I think the book has always inspired us. If you’re a fan of the book, you can look at what we have used and what we haven’t, or what we’ve taken and turned it on its end. For instance, we’re going into this whole thing of this church and the tomb underground and these vampires that have been desiccated and laying in wait for all these years, with Katherine amongst them.

That’s not in the book. However, what is in the book is Katherine. And so the book has always inspired us, but now the show is off and running, and with a bunch of writers sitting in a room we twist and turn everything.

Thanks, @CW_VampDiaries!
