WARNING: If you have yet to see tonight’s Vampire Diaries season finale, do not click this link as it contains a massive spoiler and, honestly, you should just experience it. Okay? Wait until you’ve seen the episode, you will not be sorry.
According to TV Guide, The Vampire Diaries has added a series regular for Season 6. You can find out who it is by clicking this link, but seriously, please watch the episode first unless you hate experiencing pure happiness and anything that is good or wholesome and just in this world.
KSiteTV has some new images from Fifty Shades of Grayson (EP510). No official synopsis on that one yet, but hopefully one will be forthcoming soon. We are veeeerrryy curious.
In recent episodes, The Originals has taken off like a bat out of hell and the story hurtling forward full-tilt. There are a lot of questions and everybody wants to know who will have what relationship with whom and what’s going to happen next in general. These three interviews contain some spoilers, so read at your own risk if you haven’t yet seen Fruit Of The Poisoned Tree (EP106).
Just Jared Jr. talks with Daniel Gillies about the eldest surviving Mikaelson brother, his family, his relationships and (of course!), his accent.
JJJ: Elijah and Hayley are getting close. Will Klaus become jealous of that relationship?
DG: He seems like he would be. He seems like someone who is jealous. I don’t know, but I think….yeah. For someone who’s lived so long, he’s not very wise. He’s the least wise, thousand-year-old soul that you can imagine. It’s an interesting character. He’s intelligent, but has no wisdom.
TVLine also has some questions about Eijah’s relationships, including one with a certain werewolf, and they went to Julie Plec and Michael Narducci for answers.
As if Elijah’s worry for Hayley this week, not to mention their palpable sexual tension, weren’t enough evidence, Plec confirms that “there’s definitely something” between the unlikely twosome. The Original, in particular, is “starting to have his own level of concern that it’s more than just the child that he is protecting and caring for.”
Zap2it spoke with Julie Plec and Michael Narducci too, and one of their questions is about what we might see coming up next for the witches.
“Everything Sophie was trying to do and everything that the witches need to hold on to their power
got killed in the form of the only living witch able to do that spell
,” says Plec. “Sophie is going to have a little bit of a spirit crisis that then she’s going to have to snap herself out of and decide ‘Ok, this can’t be the end of this journey. I worked way too hard for this, so what am I going to do now?’ We’ll hit that in a couple of episodes.”
A couple more post-mortems for you, this time from Entertainment Weekly and TV Guide. Julie Plec answers questions about the season four finale and what might be up next for season five. Lots of Katherine-related Q&A in these, enjoy!
Spoiler alert for Graduation (EP423).
I think we’ll be seeing a bit more of Katherine. As always, we have to be careful with overworking the hardest-working woman in show business, Nina Dobrev.
There’s so much fun to be had with seeing this nasty, manipulative, fearless, undefeatable Katherine suddenly finding herself vulnerable, killable. It may be time to pay some of the price for all the crappy things she’s done to other people over the last 500 years.
Can you imagine a time Elena and Katherine could ever find common ground?
Plec: You know I actually think that if they ever sat down and had a bottle of wine and a bag of chips they’d probably realize they have a lot more in common than they think. But they have a lot of hate and bitterness and altogether bad blood there so it might take a couple of bags of chips and a case of wine.
On The Originals front, the upcoming series made ET‘s list of 10 Most Promising New Fall TV Shows! The nod also included special praise for Charles Michael Davis as Marcel:
Unlike all the other entries this year, we’ve already seen an episode of The Originals since The CW tested it out with a backdoor pilot episode of TVD. Not only did the familiar faces dazzle in this new setting, but Charles Michael Davis is a star-in-the-making and a ferocious foe for Klaus to tangle with.
Entertainment Weekly has a new webclip from Thursday’s season four finale, Graduation (EP423). Beware of spoilers if you haven’t seen The Walking Dead (EP422).
As the fourth season of The Vampire Diaries draws to a close, Julie Plec is much in demand for interviews to discuss the last two episodes and the future of the show in general. With The Originals on the horizon too there’s even more to talk about. These interviews cover a lot of different topics and include some hints about upcoming episodes; beware of spoilers!
In this interview with ETonline, Julie talks about Nina Dobrev’s pivotal role in making season four a success.
ETonline: Arguably the success of this year depended on having an actor who could bring the excellent writing to life. And honestly, if The CW was ever going to break into the Emmy race, Nina Dobrev is the one to do it.
Plec: Right? It was definitely scary because we knew the entire season hinged on Nina’s ability to dig into some deep places she hadn’t had to dig before. Had she not spent the last three years successfully playing 960 characters, we would have been a little more worried [laughs]. For me, there was a moment in the season premiere where the director called me to say the entire crew burst into applause after he shot it.
TV Fanatic has a lot of questions for Julie and there are definitely some spoilers in this one. Click at your own risk!
TVF: Whether the Veil is going to drop or not, is that what Silas really wants or is there more that has yet to be revealed?
JP: There is definitely more to the Silas story than has been told. His motives…he’s pretty honest. It’s just some details that he’s left out.
This interview from Zap2it focuses on the status of the sire bond and what we can expect to learn before the season ends.
“Definitely before the season’s over, we have our answer to the question of does the sire bond still exist, and if not, then what are her feelings and who are they for,” executive producer Julie Plec reveals.
TV Overmind has some brand new stills from She’s Come Undone (EP421)! Don’t click on these unless you’ve already seen Pictures Of You (EP419) or don’t mind being spoiled.
The clock is counting down to the new episode on Thursday, but if you can’t wait another minute for some scoop on Pictures Of You (EP419), we’ve got a couple of links (spoiler alert!) that might be of interest.

Zap2it has two new (video!) interviews up, one with Candice Accola and one with Paul Wesley. Spoilers for Stand By Me (EP415).
In this first interview, Candice Accola talks about what it’s like when a cast member departs for a while, how Caroline is dealing with the new Elena situation and the departure of Tyler.
Paul Wesley talks about Elena and Stefan, but he also speaks a little bit about Stefan’s relationship with Rebekah and his thoughts on The Originals spinoff.
Intrigued by Elena’s new look? Entertainment Weekly has an interview with TVD costume designer Leigh Leverett to talk about the style switch up. Again, beware of spoilers if you aren’t up to date on the episodes.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: How would you describe the
“no-humanity”
version of Elena’s wardrobe? What kind of transformation can fans expect?
LEIGH LEVERETT:
It’s more like she just can go in anywhere and get whatever she wants. She can go into any boutique and compel anyone to give her anything as opposed to trying to look like Elena. Before it was still kind of Elena being Elena even though she was a vampire. Now it’s like she can just see something that she wants, and she can just go get it.
Previously on The Vampire Diaries, the fandom did a lot of yelling at the TV. There aren’t too many things we can say about last week’s episode that won’t spoil it for those folks who haven’t seen it yet, but things went seriously sideways for our heroes. Hopefully these recaps will help you sort out all your feelings.
Crissy Calhoun will be doubling up her Down the Rabbit Hole and Stand By Me reviews, so check back next week for her mega-review.
