Intrigued by Elena’s new look? Entertainment Weekly has an interview with TVD costume designer Leigh Leverett to talk about the style switch up. Again, beware of spoilers if you aren’t up to date on the episodes.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: How would you describe the “no-humanity” version of Elena’s wardrobe? What kind of transformation can fans expect?
LEIGH LEVERETT: It’s more like she just can go in anywhere and get whatever she wants. She can go into any boutique and compel anyone to give her anything as opposed to trying to look like Elena. Before it was still kind of Elena being Elena even though she was a vampire. Now it’s like she can just see something that she wants, and she can just go get it.

Ology has a new interview with Paul Wesley; the actor shares his thoughts on Elena’s siring and looks ahead at what’s coming up for Stefan and Damon’s ever-rocky relationship.
He also admits that he’s been Team Stefan pretty much from the beginning, even the he initially read to play a very different role.
You originally auditioned for the role of Damon. Do you ever wonder what it would have been like if you got that role?
[Paul Wesley] Yes. [Laughs] I never really thought about it after I got Stefan, but I definitely didn’t think—I thought Stefan was going to be really young and I think they did too. I just didn’t think I was age appropriate for Stefan, but I secretly preferred the role of Stefan. I just didn’t think it was going to happen. So when I read for Damon they didn’t think that was a match, but then I got a call like a month later and they were like, ‘Do you want to read for Stefan?’ I was actually relieved. I was so thrilled about it because I preferred it. So I hadn’t really looked back since.

News of The Originals spinoff has caused quite a sensation in the fandom. Everyone is asking questions about how it will work and above all, who we might see on it.
Entertainment Weekly interviewed Julie Plec on the topic, and she not only gives some details about the show’s mysterious new character, Marcel, she also has a few things to say about the possibility of guest stars that will have Elijah fans doing cartwheels in the aisles.
Would there be a role for Elijah (Daniel Gillies) in the spinoff, because there needs to be.
[Plec] Oh, in the world of Julie Plec [Laughs] and her obsession with Daniel Gillies, there is always a role for Elijah. It’s only a matter of whether in Daniel Gillies’ world there is an interest in having a job with Julie Plec. But I can hope the answer is yes.
When asked about the role of Rebekah, and whether we might be seeing Claire Holt in New Orleans, Julie allows for the possibility but does point out that Rebekah is very much in the middle of things on TVD right now, not to mention extremely put out with Klaus. Fortunately for Rebekah fans, Entertainment Weekly also spoke with Claire Holt recently, and she sheds a little more light (spoilers!) on what Rebekah’s up to in tomorrow night’s episode.
“Rebekah gathers Stefan, Elena, and Caroline in the high school and she basically psychologically tortures them,” Holt says. “She questions them about the tattoo, and the cure, and Stefan and Elena’s relationship, and it brings some uncomfortable truths to light. It’s definitely going to be much more difficult for Caroline, Elena, and Stefan than it is for Rebekah.”

A lot of fans have questions about last night’s episode (My Brother’s Keeper, EP407) and what the events mean for the relationships on the show. Zap2it interviewed Julie Plec to get some answers, not just about Damon and Elena but also about the relationship between the brothers, what’s going on with Stefan and a really nice point about Tyler’s actions last week. BEWARE OF SPOILERS.
Before the breakup, Damon and Stefan were in the best place they’ve been, as brothers, in a long time. Is that in jeopardy now?
Plec: Well, it’s been compromised by circumstance, but both of them, to their credit in the next episode, try to take the high road. What comes out of them both trying to take the high road, and to do what’s right by each other, and do right by Elena, actually launches the whole next chapter of the show.

Bullett has a new interview with Paul Wesley which covers an array of topics from Stefan and Elena’s relationship to Paul’s presence on twitter. As with all new interviews, if you aren’t up to date on Season 4, beware of spoilers.
In general, your character Stefan has had such a multidimensional story arc. Do you find it more or less difficult to keep your character grounded as the storylines progress?
[Paul Wesley] In a way, we’re playing superheroes, and when you watch any superhero movie, you just have to go with it. As much as it is a teen drama romance, it’s also this adventure. I think as an actor you need to commit to it. It’s not like I’m portraying Abraham Lincoln, you know what I mean? Were doing a vampire show. So for me, it’s exciting to become bloodthirsty and a sociopathic killer, and then go to being a hero again. I think those extremes are totally okay. It’s sort of a given. But yes, it’s obviously very difficult. As an actor, you’re sort of going, “What’s happening right now? How are we getting away with so many murders, and there’s no police investigating? Is there really no FBI thats coming to Mystic Falls, because 500 people die every month?” But I try not to think about that stuff.

TV Guide‘s Robyn Ross returns with a new Vampire Diaries Bite this week and this time she talks The Killer (EP405), tonight’s all-new episode, with guest star Todd Williams, who plays (the very determined and bad ass) Connor.
Entertainment Weekly also caught up with Todd Williams to talk about tonight’s episode:
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Connor is a character who, at the moment, is very easy to dislike. Is there something in his backstory that would surprise us?
TODD WILLIAMS: That’s what this episode is about, basically shedding some light as to why Connor’s doing what he’s doing. It’s not as black and white as, Oh, vampires. I want to kill ‘em. That’s it. There’s definitely a story there, and this episode makes him a little more three-dimensional, just in terms of his humanity.
