We’ve also got a webclip from Thursday’s episode of The Vampire Diaries from E!Online, featuring Paul Wesley and guest star Janina Gavankar.
Update: The CW has now made the clip widely available:
THE VAMPIRE DIARIES
ETonline: Given how much I know you enjoy mixing things up, is it safe to say you were excited upon finding out this doppelganger twist?
Paul Wesley: [laughs] Oh, just a little. It’s that feeling of being excited and intimidated but I try not to get into my head too much and just have fun with it. But I was thrilled to do something new.
[Hollywood Life] I’ve seen the premiere, and Caroline has a few really emotional scenes, especially with her mom.
[Candice Accola] Yeah, that’s definitely a sweet moment. It’s a proud moment.
On a show like The Vampire Diaries, with so many twists and reveals, it’s hard to keep track of all the drama, so we’re helping you out by giving you a quick recap of what went down at the end of season four. Plus, we’re giving you scoop on what you can expect this season…
Alloy Entertainment: Daniella Pineda Teases The Originals & Reveals Her Mystic Falls Crush
Alloy Entertainment: We know Sophie is a witch, but can you tease anything else about your character?
Daniella Pineda: Out of all the characters on the show, Sophie is by far the most mysterious because there really is no telling who her love interest is or what she has in store.”
To get answers about Cami’s role in the show, Rebekah’s introduction, Elijah’s possible love interest and more, TVLine went to executive producer Michael Narducci.
Last time we saw Stefan Salvatore, he was trapped in a giant safe and disappearing underwater. Not the best way to spend a post-graduation summer, right? Paul Wesley tells TV Guide that the youngest Salvatore brother will definitely be “screwed up in the head” by his tortuous experience, but before Stefan returns to town, Wesley gets to play a true-blue villain: Silas.
“Silas has so much pain and anger and hurt, but it’s masked by a level of light energy and humor,” Wesley says. “[He isn't] intimidated by anything and the world is his playground. He’s 2000 years old and finds himself to be supremely more interesting and sophisticated. He doesn’t feed on people, he thinks it’s gross and primitive, so he manipulates people into cutting themselves and pouring their blood and then he drinks it; he’s a little snobby.”
Thursday creeps ever closer and the CW has released two more TVD Season 5 promo posters via the official Vampire Diaries Facebook: Bonnie Bennett and Stefan Salvatore.

Another “favorite moment” video from The CW. This time, it’s Paul Wesley‘s turn, and his choice comes from the season 4 finale. Enjoy!
TV Fanatic also took part in the recent The Vampire Diaries set visit, and has video interviews with both Salvatore brothers to share! First, Ian Somerhalder talks Delena, the new Gilbert living arrangements, the dark underbelly of Mystic Falls, Silas, and more.
And Paul Wesley discusses Stefan and Silas, playing a second character, the Damon/Silas dynamic, and more.
