We got some emails recently from fans concerned about Creation Entertainment’s upcoming conventions, TVDNJ (August 18-19 2012) & TVDSanFran (July 28-29, 2012), but never fear, both conventions are still on the schedule. Looks like Creation was doing some site updates, which is why these two events were temporarily MIA, but everything is back where it should be now.
Even better news, Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder have both been scheduled to appear at the NJ convention. Tickets are on sale now, you can learn all about the event here at Creation’s site.
We don’t have any info yet about who will be appearing in San Francisco, but we’ll let you know as soon as we have official news!

Paul Wesley appears in the new issue of People Magazine, numbered among their picks for Sexiest Man Alive for the second year in a row. Once you can tear your eyes away from the picture, you can read about teenage Paul’s penchant for sneaking out at night, and about what he considers a suitable ambiance for an ideal date. Michael Trevino and Steven R. McQueen are mentioned in features in the issue as well, and Ian Somerhalder is included in the online-only slide show Sexy Guys at Every Age. The third season of The Vampire Diaries has showcased a whole new side of Paul Wesley’s considerable talent. The wide range of emotion he’s been playing with the Ripper Stefan arc have a lot of people shaking their heads and asking in awe: “How the heck does he do that?!”. The answer? Hard work, persistence, and training. Backstage.com recently did a feature on some successful actors, and in it Paul talks about how he got his start as a young actor and some of the work that goes on behind the scenes when it comes to learning the craft.
When I was a kid, I was really interested in acting, and I started doing some theater in school plays. I was living 45 minutes outside of Manhattan, and I wanted to segue into doing something on a professional level. When I was 15, I decided to join this workshop, run by Flo Greenberg, in Manhattan. I would commute to the city from Jersey every day.

Been a while since you poked around on the official CW website for The Vampire Diaries? In addition to the Vampire Diaries Lair and brand spankin’ new Vampire Diaries Stakeout, there are other goodies to be found, such as music playlists for individual characters on the Mystic Grill Jukebox page. (Scroll down to the bottom of the page.)
Only Stefan, Klaus, Elena, and Bonnie are represented at the moment (sorry, Damon, Caroline, etc. fans), but the playlists definitely feature a diverse group of artists: Nine Inch Nails, Jane’s Addiction, Bon Iver, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and lots more.

The Insider has a new video of Paul Wesley talking about what’s going on with Stefan as we move forward from the last episode, and two exclusive behind the scenes pictures from tonight’s episode, Smells Like Teen Spirit (EP306). Beware of spoilers if you haven’t seen up through The Reckoning (EP305), and the same goes for the EW article below!
In other news, if you were hoping for some Jeremy/Katherine romance, you are out of luck today. E! Online spoke with Steven R. McQueen, and it seems there are a few things about Katherine’s personality that just don’t work for the youngest Gilbert. Steven said:
“Katherine usually has some sort of bad intention, and I think she is usually up to something. With my ring I’m like a never-failing blood bag, so I feel like me being around her is never all that good for me.”
Smart boy, that Jeremy! Besides, I think it’s safe to say he’s got his heads -and his brain!- already filled with girl trouble, both from the living and the dead. Add in Stefan’s new attitude and everyone in Mystic Falls had better be watching their backs, and their necks, tonight!
