Kayla Ewell will be a guest on That Morning Show tomorrow morning, October 8th. She’ll be talking Vicki and Vampire Diaries, and you can catch the interview between 6-9 a.m. on E! Entertainment Network.
Candice Accola talks Caroline and Damon in PopSugar’s “6 Reasons You Can’t Live Without Vampires” video. Vampire Diaries talk starts at the 2:00 minute mark.
We tweeted this last night, but in case you missed it, via TV Guide’s MegaBuzz: a fan’s Vampire Diaries theory and Julie Plec’s sly spin on the issue.
UPDATE: And via Ask Ausiello: Find out why you shouldn’t miss this week’s episode OR next week’s.
Vampire Diaries Web is about to make a whole lot of you very, very happy: flashback stills from episode six, “Lost Girls.” I’d write more but I am making total flail-y hands over Stefan’s hair and Damon in uniform (called it, Red!) and KATHERINE. I expect to be nigh-on useless for the rest of the evening. There’s a few taster photos below, and see the full set over at VDW. (I expect we’ll have some higher quality versions soon.)
UPDATE: Higher quality images added to the “Lost Girls” album in our gallery.
Many moons ago (okay, it was back in May, but it seems like such a long time ago) we posted an article – Vampire Lore 101 – all about the traits and characteristics of the vampires in L.J. Smith’s book version of the Vampire Diaries. Now that we’re getting into the swing of the TV series with four episodes already aired, we thought it was about time to write an article about what we know (so far) about the vampires in the TV universe. This is all based on what we’ve seen while watching the episodes, so we may have missed some details and some information may be a little vague until episodes down the line can elaborate more. But there’s a surprising amount of information gleaned from what we’ve seen so far. Be warned, there will be spoilers for the first four episodes.
E! News visited the set of The Vampire Diaries last week during filming of the Halloween episode (Haunted – we’ve already had glimpses of Jeremy’s and Elena’s, and Matt’s costumes via Nina’s Twitter), and the segment features some soundbites from Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, and Ian Somerhalder.
VAMPIRE DIARIES continued to cast a spell on viewers in a number of key ratings measurements, with flat week to week performances in adults 18-34 (1.8/6) and women 18-49 (2.3/3). TVD also mesmerized female teens with a 2.5/10, winning a first place finish in the influential demo. Additionally, TVD was seen by 3.52M total viewers.
MTV has more of their conversation with Paul Wesley and he has some very interesting things to say about Stefan’s future:
“His layers are starting to sort of show,” he said. “When the story first began, he was sort of this mystery figure. And he always has that ambiguity about him, and as we get to know him and he starts having human problems, he becomes more of a person. For me, what’s interesting is that he’s going to get more intense and get more assertive with Damon and start just humanizing more. And that includes laughter and deep sadness. They’re really starting to make him more complex.”
And Nina chatted with the New York Post’s PopWrap about what viewers can expect on upcoming episodes of The Vampire Diaries, including some great spec about Elena’s parents:
PW: I think there’s more to Elena’s parents death than we know — thoughts?
Nina: [laughs] Yes … I do think that too. I don’t know when it’s going to happen, but we’re going to explore that storyline and that history. I feel like being on a show like this, you have an amazing secret that you so badly want to tell but can’t. All I’ll say is that in episode six, you’re going to be totally surprised by what happens.
At last, some Vampire Diaries casting news for you all. TV Guide Magazine have reported that ex-Gilmore Girls star Arielle Kebbel will be playing the upcoming role of “Lexi”, an old friend of Stefan’s. You can find a little bit more detail about this role in the spoiler zone. TV Guide have listed Lexi’s appearance as being in episode seven, but last we knew the casting call for her character came with the production code of 107, which would make episode eight the one she appears in.
Now, if we could just find out who’ll be playing Alaric, we’ll be a pair of happy bunnies…
Paul Wesley has spoken to MTV regarding the comparisons between Stefan and Twilight’s Edward Cullen, suggesting that the comparisons are ‘inevitable’. You can listen to a clip of Paul talking about it as well as read a summary of it on the MTV website.
Courtesy of the CW, we have another new clip from this week’s episode of The Vampire Diaries, Family Ties, and it’s all Salvatores and suits.
They also have yet another interview with Paul at Comic Con. He doesn’t really say much new here, but for posterity’s sake:
The CW has released an intense little clip from next week’s episode of The Vampire Diaries, Family Ties, featuring Elena and Stefan.
“Rising Star” Paul Wesley talked to Access Hollywood about the success of the Vampire Diaries TV series, old friends getting in touch, and how viewers are responding to his portrayal of Stefan:
“I had to work so hard to get this role… that when I did finally get it and I got on set, it was sort of one of these things where I just felt so challenged that I almost never settled in and went ‘OK, I can enjoy this. I can relax,’” Wesley, who is currently filming the sixth “Vampire Diaries” episode, said. “He’s a very complex character… and I’m starting to really figure him out.
“People are really responding to Stefan and I’m just now starting to go, ‘This is nice, this feels good, this feels really like, nice to have people appreciate this character,’” he added.

In honour of the Vampire Diaries tonight, Tyler Shields has posted a picture of Candice Accola taken in New Mexico, which you can see a sneak peak of below. Head on over to his blog to see the full picture.
