Hardly Magazine spoke with Steven R. McQueen recently and the actor shared some of his favorite music, talked about shooting in Vancouver, and a little about leaving Jeremy on set at the end of the day. The actor also asserts that he’s happy to still be on Team Human.
“I enjoy playing a human in this fantasy world,” says McQueen who is happy not to see Jeremy become a vampire, werewolf, or hybrid (part vampire/part werewolf).

The 2012 People’s Choice Awards may not air until January, but the voting is officially on! This is your official reminder that Vampire Diaries fandom needs to vote hard for our show and cast in this year’s People’s Choice Awards. The show airs LIVE on Wed., Jan. 11, 2012, 9-11pm ET on CBS and we want to see TVD on that ballot. We’re in the nomination phase now, where the top five official nominees (those listed) and write-in votes (more on that below) are voted on by fans and then whittled down to five official nominees in each category.
The top five in each category will become the official nominees and will be announced on November 8, 2011 at The Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills during the annual PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS press conference.

All you have to do is click OTHER and type in the name of who you’re nominating. We’ve made it easy – just click each cast member below to go directly to their relevant category and write them in!

Latina Magazine caught up with Michael Trevino to talk Tyler’s new situation heading into tonight’s episode, including the numerous pros and cons, and how it will affect his relationship with Caroline. He also talks about his on-screen chemistry with Candice Accola:
In the season premiere, Tyler and Caroline had an intense sex scene. Was that a fun scene for you and Candice Accola to shoot?
Oh, absolutely. {Laughs}. It was our season premiere and it has been a long time coming. A lot of people are fans of Caroline and Tyler being together. So our producers throwing it in there in the first episode of the season—I thought it was great. And it turned out pretty awesome. Me and Candice, we’re really close. We’re great friends, and we have awesome chemistry. We were jumping on each other and laughing. Candice is a gorgeous girl.

AOL TV got the lowdown from Steven R. McQueen on the ghost story line coming to a head in the next few episodes:
Tonight’s episode, ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit,’ sees our high school characters head back to class for the first day of the new school year. “Jeremy’s pretty much trying to balance out everything he has going on in reality as opposed to these ghosts from his past,” McQueen explained. “In Episode 6, you’ll learn the intentions of the ghosts, and I think in Episode 7 you kind of start to see the consequences for their actions.”

And Steven tells Zap2It that the relationship between Jeremy and Elena will be highlighted in these new circumstances:
Though we haven’t seen much interaction between Jeremy and Elena lately, over the next few episodes that sibling bond will be seen. “There’s been so much going on. They’re family, they care about each other, but they’re both dealing with their own stuff right now,” McQueen says. “We have some moments coming up where you see that at the end of the day, they’re there for each other, they’re family.”

The Insider has a new video of Paul Wesley talking about what’s going on with Stefan as we move forward from the last episode, and two exclusive behind the scenes pictures from tonight’s episode, Smells Like Teen Spirit (EP306). Beware of spoilers if you haven’t seen up through The Reckoning (EP305), and the same goes for the EW article below!

In other news, if you were hoping for some Jeremy/Katherine romance, you are out of luck today. E! Online spoke with Steven R. McQueen, and it seems there are a few things about Katherine’s personality that just don’t work for the youngest Gilbert. Steven said:
“Katherine usually has some sort of bad intention, and I think she is usually up to something. With my ring I’m like a never-failing blood bag, so I feel like me being around her is never all that good for me.”
Smart boy, that Jeremy! Besides, I think it’s safe to say he’s got his heads -and his brain!- already filled with girl trouble, both from the living and the dead. Add in Stefan’s new attitude and everyone in Mystic Falls had better be watching their backs, and their necks, tonight!
