THIS POST IS A STICKY. KEEP SCROLLING FOR NEWER POSTS.
Way back in November, during the mid-season hiatus, we asked you to pick your favorite episodes of The Vampire Diaries Season 3 (so far). There were only nine episodes to pick from (Homecoming, Ordinary People and The Reckoning took top honors), so we think it’s finally time to look back at the season as a whole. Pick your THREE favorite episodes of The Vampire Diaries Season 3 and leave a comment to tell us why your favorites reign.

Getting rid of those pesky Originals really is in the town’s best interests. So the gang are going on the offensive. But we all know Klaus won’t go down without a fight, and Rebekah has a bone (or an entire skeleton) to pick with Damon first…

Previously on The Vampire Diaries, Rebekah was getting her revenge on, Klaus was bothering Bonnie and Alaric was unwittingly upping the stakes. Add in a twist that dashes a lot of our heroes’ plans to pieces and you get an hour that packed a pretty solid punch. It’s been a long few weeks since this episode aired, so you may want to brush up before you strap in for Heart Of Darkness (EP319), which airs tOnight.

After a few episodes that felt off, The Murder of One shines as an example of all that makes The Vampire Diaries the show we love so very much — high stakes, excellent twists, complicated conversations, siblings bickering, a little shirtless torture, and a reminder that good whittling is hard to find. Welcome back, TVD.
The Salvatore brothers have been called self-destructive many a time, but in this episode, the poor guys have no idea that their diabolical master plan is incredibly self-destructive. SPOILERS! CONTINUE READING “THE THREAT OF EXTINCTION.”

We have another Joseph Morgan interview for you before tonight’s episode. This time, he talks to The Hollywood Reporter about how hard it is to kill those pesky Originals, as well as Klaus’s Tyler problem and who his “first call” might be. If you’re caught up through last week’s episode, click over for the particulars. Otherwise, enjoy this more general but still intriguing tidbit:
“First of all, you’ve got to remember that these guys are the original vampires; they’re the strongest vampires to walk the planet. They’re going to be incredibly hard to kill and it’s going to require absolute teamwork from our ‘heroes.’ They’ll do anything and Klaus, he’ll do anything he can to stay alive. He has no qualms about letting others suffer so that he can survive or so his family can survive.”
And how about Klaus’s motivations at the end of the season?
“He’s wanted dead by the majority of Mystic Falls by now so the finale for Klaus, a lot of it is going to be about trying to survive. . . . If things start getting too hot, it’s going to be about making his escape intact — and I would imagine he’s going to want Elena and Rebekah with him.”

Give Me My Remote interviewed Paul Wesley at PaleyFest, but it looks like they held this one back as it’s particularly relevant to tonight’s episode (spoilers). Paul talks a bit about Stefan and Elena and what needs to happen before he thinks they could really be together as a couple. He also touches on Stefan’s relationship with Rebekah and Klaus, and how those play into the current situation.
Meanwhile, TVLine has a (SPOILER!) tidbit from Julie Plec about what’s ahead for Bonnie Bennett over the next few episodes, especially where it comes to a particular fella who is definitely not her brother.
We expressed our own curiosity about Bonnie’s storyline in last week’s 20ish Questions column. Let’s see if Julie Plec can sate our thirst. “Bonnie hits her emotional threshold this week, but don’t despair,” the exec producer tells the Inside Line. “She finds a nice bit of hope when she gets closer to Jamie and takes him as her date to the Decade Dance where he gets a glimpse of Bonnie the hero in action.”
