Way back in November, during the mid-season hiatus, we asked you to pick your favorite episodes of The Vampire Diaries Season 3 (so far). There were only nine episodes to pick from (Homecoming, Ordinary People and The Reckoning took top honors), so we think it’s finally time to look back at the season as a whole. Tonight in the UK: The Ties That Bind (EP312)

Yes, that’s right, folks. Bonnie Bennett does have parents, and tonight we finally get to meet the estranged Abby Bennett (not to be confused with our very own Abby, who was not Bonnie’s mother last time we checked. Though with this show, you never know). Alaric and Damon rekindle their bromance, whilst Stefan and Klaus squabble over those pesky coffins.

ITV2 will be displaying the Twitter #TVDUK hashtag during the episode, and will also be reading out the best or funniest tweet using the hashtag over the end credits. Be sure to tweet your reactions, and make sure you’re following @ITV2 for some entertaining keyboard mashing while you’re at it. As always, you can also follow us on @tvdnews.

It’s family reunion time as the CW encores The Ties That Bind (EP312) tonight at 8/7c. This episode features the first appearance of guest star Persia White – and though the “ties that bind” are mostly metaphorical, there are some literal ones involved as well. New episodes of The Vampire Diaries will return on Thursday, March 15 with 1912 (EP316).

Previously on The Vampire Diaries, road trip chit-chat was at a minimum as Elena and Bonnie set out in search of help with their coffin conundrum. Klaus was in the mood for music, Stefan was getting all up in everyone’s business and Damon was doing his level best to make everything as awkward as possible. This episode had a lot going on all over the place, and it packed a big surprise right at the very end.

I’M NOT SUPPOSED TO SPOIL YOU.

It’s been a long time coming, but tonight we finally get concrete proof: Bonnie Bennett does have a mother and was not, in fact, found in the Mystic Falls Pumpkin Patch! Bonnie and Elena are off on a roadtrip to meet her, and we’re sure that (like all roadtrips in this show) there’s bound to be trouble following them out of town.

Bad news, guys – there’s no episode airing next week, but the show will return the week after with Bringing Out The Dead.
