Yeah, so… Promo teaser for The Turning Point, next week’s episode of The Vampire Diaries. The only thing I have to say about this is never underestimate a fandom’s powers of observation when it comes to episode stills. Hat – and shirts – off!

Thanks to Vampire Diaries Show, a few new images from episode 10, The Turning Point. Click to see larger versions in the Media Gallery (including larger, unwatermarked versions of the IGN exclusive stills released yesterday).

TV Guide Magazine’s William Keck confirms what we speculated yesterday: Malese Jow is Anna, Jeremy’s potential new love interest, and today was her first day filming.
“She comes on as Jeremy’s smart new friend, Anna,” series creator Kevin Williamson tells me. Hmm…just a ‘friend’? … “We’ll see how it goes,” teases Williamson. “Jeremy certainly turns her head. She gets a crush. It starts in one place and maybe ends someplace else.”
A few Kat Graham interviews for you: A “sit down” with Just Jared and talking “Stefan or Damon?” over at Hollywood Crush:
Though Kat wouldn’t rule Damon out completely for Bonnie, she said. “After doing a lot of backstory for the script and delving deeper into every single relationship that Bonnie has, I’d say that I wouldn’t completely cut off Damon. At first I was like ‘Oh, no way, that’ll never happen.’ Then the more research I do and the more pain I find behind Ian Somerhalder’s character as a reason that he is the way he is, the more compassion I feel for him. I think that Bonnie is no less than compassionate no matter what happens to her and I’m kind of with the fans where it could go either way.”
And SciFi Wire gives 7 Ways Vampire Diaries Changes Everything Tonight:
3. Damon and Stefan have to work together. For the first time, the brothers have to work together to solve the problem that Damon created. Damon even saved Stefan’s life after he took a wood bullet and was almost staked by one of the townsfolk council people. Seeing Damon rip the bullet out of Stefan’s chest and tell him that no one else was going to kill him told us volumes about their relationship. Almost as much as learning that the mysterious Katherine turned them both into vampires in the 1800s. There’s more to that story, and we can’t wait to see more.
That above scene may be my favorite in the show so far. No lie.

Zap2it’s Korbi Ghosh spoke to Kevin Williamson about the Vampire Diaries. He confirms that Vicki’s fate is for real, and that in tonight’s episode secrets are revealed and we’ll see some backstory about Stefan and Bonnie, as well as getting to know some other characters a little more. For the iPhone users reading this, you can watch the video on YouTube.
By The Book recently interviewed L.J. Smith, and the article touches a range of subjects, from her own writing and inspirations to her thoughts on the Vampire Diaries TV series. You can read the entire interview over at By The Book.
BTB: Are you currently working on any new projects?
Smith: Oh, yes! I’ve just begun the third book in the new Vampire Diaries Trilogy, titled Midnight. The second book in this trilogy, Shadow Souls, will be out in March, 2010. And then I am working on the last book in the Night World series, titled Strange Fate, which doesn’t have a firm publication date yet. In addition I have on the back burner a book called Brionwy’s Lullabies, which is set in a world that is ruled by dragons. And of course I hope to write some more Vampire Diaries books as well!
Thanks to Katerina Graham for confirming that David Barrett (Smallville, Moonlight, The Cleaner) is currently directing episode 10, “The Turning Point”.
Great news for Portugal via the folks over at Crónicas Vampíricas. The Vampire Diaries TV series is set to premier on Saturday, November 7 at 3:30pm on RTP 1. Malaysian fans can also look forward to seeing the show in 2010 on 8TV. Now, if we could just get a more concrete UK airdate (yes, ITV, we’re looking at you), I’d be a happy bunny.
Finally, many thanks to Amanda for sending us scans of a Vampire Diaries feature in Blast Presents Fantasy Films New Moon Edition (which is out today), and to Faran for the scans of an article in the Toronto Star. You can see the articles in the gallery.

We did say we had quite a few bits and bobs to post. First up, we have video of Katerina Graham’s appearance on the Mo’Nique Show last night. In her first ever chat show appearance she talks about how she started out with singing and background dancing, about Bonnie Bennett, and a message for people to work hard and believe in themselves to achieve their potential.
Malese Jow (you may recognise her from Nickelodeon shows) teased her Twitter followers a while back with a clue to her next project. She’s since tweeted to say that she’s been watching the Vampire Diaries and can’t wait to start filming, and has recently arrived in Atlanta. We don’t actually know what role she’s playing, but there was a casting call posted a while back for a character named ‘Anna’, and Malese certainly seems to fit the bill for the role.
IGN posted up a couple of stills from episode 10, “The Turning Point”, featuring Stefan and Damon. We note police activity in the background there. Has Damon been naughty again?

Many thanks to Rose for directing us to this. Book three of the Vampire Diaries is due out in Portugal this month, and you can see the cover for it right here.

Finally, quite a few people have expressed interest in purchasing Vampire Diaries posters. Well, now you can, as the WB store has three for you to choose from. Thanks to Vampire Diaries Guide for the heads up.

The CW has released official synopsis for “The Turning Point”. As usual, you can find it on the Episode Index, so head on over there for the juicy details. Lots of stuff happening in this episode, though when isn’t there when it comes to the Vampire Diaries?
Several cast members were out and about in costume for Halloween this year. Nina Dobrev (as Willy Wonka), Katerina Graham (a vampire), Sara Canning (Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas) and Kayla Ewell (a pirate) all attended Heidi Klum’s party, and you can find pictures of them over in the Vampire Diaries Show image gallery. Candice Accola was at photographer Tyler Shields’ Halloween party (as a Christmas present), and you can check out the photos over on Tyler Shields’ website. Thanks to Brigitte and @ag808 for the links.
Finally, a reminder to Bulgarian fans that book two of the Vampire Diaries, The Struggle, was released today. You can head over to the IBIS website for more information.
