In honor of the Vampire Diaries Season 2 finale this Thursday, the amazingly generous gentlemen of Stateless have a special giveaway especially for Vampire Diaries fans. You may recall that their track “Bloodstream” was memorably featured in the Season 1 finale and on the Vampire Diaries Original Television Soundtrack, and quickly became one of the most beloved tracks to ever be played on the show. Well, they’ve recorded a new version of the song and they want TVD fans to have it – FOR FREE. Details below:
To mark the end of another stunning season, Stateless have recorded a new version of the track ‘Bloodstream’ and bundled it with ‘I’m On Fire’ from their latest album, Matilda, as a FREE download – exclusively for TVD fans! The download is available FREE, but it’s only going to be available from 08.00 EDT on Thursday 12th May to 00.00 PDT Sunday 15th May.

Yes, we know – a hiatus is coming after By the Light of the Moon, next week’s episode of The Vampire Diaries. But instead of getting sad, get glad about chatting with your fellow fans and winning some sweet prizes! Vampire-Diaries.net has teamed up with PHILO for a Vampire Diaries Viewing Party on December 9th!
Here’s how you can participate: Sign up for a PHILO account (you can use your Twitter, your Facebook, or register an on-site account, and download an app for your phone!). The party starts on Thursday, December 9th at 8pm EST and again at 8pm PT. Once you’re there, “check in” to The Vampire Diaries and comment and you’ll be entered to win Vampire Diaries prizes (The Vampire Diaries: The Complete First Season and The Vampire Diaries: Original Television Soundtrack), not to mention you can live-chat with other viewers as the TVD craziness goes down on your TV. (Red and Vee will be there, and Crissy Calhoun will be in the house for the West coast airing.)

Big thanks to Sounds Under Radio for sharing their own viewpoint of this past weekend’s Vampire Diaries Season 2 Hot Topic Cast Tour with us! The iTunes-savvy amongst you are in for a special treat: iTunes has The Vampire Diaries: Official Television Soundtrack up for pre-order ($9.99, listed with an October 11th release date, which is a day earlier than the official street date) and you can preview clips of all the tracks. (The less said about the “Stephan’s Theme” typo the better.)
I have to say – with all the shiny new tracks and old favorites by a variety of artists, listening to these preview clips just makes me more excited for having pieces from Michael Suby’s original score. “1864″ is intense.
Don’t forget that you can also pre-order the soundtrack on Amazon US and Amazon UK.

Thanks to @GrudgedPunkr for the heads up that The Vampire Diaries: Original Television Soundtrack tracklisting has been updated on Amazon. We blogged the original posted tracklisting a few weeks ago and there are definite changes – the track order, a remix of “Sleep Alone” by Bat For Lashes, and the retitling of the opening and closing Michael Suby score tracks. But the most notable change is the addition of “Cut” by Plumb. We’ve highlighted these changes below, though the overall track order has definitely changed. The soundtrack comes out October 12, 2010 on EMI/Virgin. Pre-order your copy!

Many thanks to Erin for giving us the heads up that Amazon has been updated with a product listing for The Vampire Diaries: Original Television Soundtrack, including the complete tracklisting. The soundtrack is due for release on October 12, 2010 on EMI/Virgin.
The ORIGINAL TELEVISION SOUNDTRACK: THE VAMPIRE DIARIES features exclusive fan favorites from Season One + new tracks that will be featured in Season Two.
Music supervisor Chris Mollere revealed in our interview that Stateless would definitely make the final disc, and Sounds Under Radio tweeted last week that they were in the studio working on a track specfically for the soundtrack (the tweet has since been deleted). Now we know that Alison Sudol of A Fine Frenzy has contributed vocals to their haunting track, “All You Wanted,” from the final moments of Let the Right One In. You can check out the full tracklisting below (everything in bold is NEW, as in a song that was not used in the first season of the show). Pre-order the soundtrack!
