Those Originals . . . they’re so bad at staying dead. TV Guide talked to Julie Plec about Rebekah’s eventual return:
“We haven’t seen the last of Rebekah,” executive producer Julie Plec tells TVGuide.com. “The fact that Elena killed Rebekah is going to come back to bite her in the butt.”
In other Original news, Joseph Morgan confirmed that his new Original brother Nathaniel Buzolic is on Twitter. Follow him at @natebuzz.

We know you’re getting restless for the return of The Vampire Diaries, but TV Guide Magazine comes to the rescue with a brief preview of what we can expect starting Thursday, January 5th with The New Deal (EP310). Here’s a taster from the article (which also mentions Torrey DeVitto‘s upcoming arc and The Vampire Diaries coming in at #4 in the magazine’s Fan Favorites poll) via Julie Plec (out of respect for the UK viewers getting Homecoming next Tuesday, we’ll put it behind a spoiler block):
“Mystic Falls is in the hands of Klaus. Stefan and Klaus want to destroy each other, but they’re unwilling to face the consequences if things go wrong. It is a Mexican standoff.”
The piece also touches on what to expect with Elena, Tyler and Caroline, Alaric, and Bonnie and features a new episode still of Damon and Elena. Pick up the December 8-15 issue (Fan Favorite winner Community on the over) at your local newsstand. Thanks to Denise for the article!
If you’re keeping track, these are post-hiatus episode titles we know so far: The New Deal (EP310), Our Town (EP311), and thanks to director Jeffrey Hunt, we know he’s handling Bringing Out The Dead (EP313). (Speaking of, he’s tweeting from the TVD set, so follow him on Twitter: @HuntVision.)
UPDATE: And we can now confirm that EP312 is titled The Ties That Bind.

Week 2 of our pre-hiatus giveaway is in effect! Thanks to everyone who participated in last week’s contest. This time around we are keeping it simple. Once again, we have some kick-ass prizes courtesy of CW Network. Shall we kick this off now?
This week, we arrive at the long-awaited Original flashback, Ordinary People. There’s no contest this time, just a giveaway where the winners will be chosen at random from the qualified entries. One grand prize winner will receive: The Season 3 promo mini-poster pictured here, signed by Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder and Joseph Morgan. Two runners-up will win unsigned Season 3 promo posters. And we’ll even throw in some extra TVD goodies, too. Wanna play?
THE RULES:
- This contest is open to international fans so EVERYONE can play!
- You must have a Twitter account and be following both @tvdnews and @CW_Network. (It’s important because we’ll be DMing the winners!)
- Copy and paste this into a tweet: Bring on the #TVDOriginals! Watch Vampire Diaries: Ordinary People this Thursday, Nov 3 at 8/7c on the CW! Then hashtag your personal favorite Original so far and add that to the tweet. EXAMPLE, your final tweet should look something like this: Bring on the #TVDOriginals! Watch Vampire Diaries: Ordinary People this Thursday, Nov 3 at 8/7c on the CW! #TeamKlaus (or #TeamElijah, etc. It must be one of the known or rumored Originals; other entries will not count.)
- Double check you have BOTH hashtags in your post! We’ll be tracking entries through the #TVDOriginals hashtag but if your tweet is missing your #Team tag, we won’t count it.
- You have until Thursday, November 3rd at 8pm Pacific to tweet your entries.
- Winners will be chosen at random and notified via DM by Tuesday, November 8th and will be announced on the blog when we do our Homecoming contest post on Wednesday, November 9th.
- Enter as many times as you’d like. And have fun! UPDATE: Please only use one Twitter account. If we discover you’re using multiple accounts, we will disqualify you.
Make sure to tune in to Vampire Diaries this Thursday, November 3rd at 8/7c on the CW! And a huge THANK YOU to the CW for the awesome prizes!

This fandom is THE BEST. We weren’t sure the G.H.O.S.T. game would come anywhere near the level of awesomeness of the O.M.F.G. entries, but you guys proved us wrong and made us proud. If we’ve learned anything from these two games, it’s that TVD fans have a take-no-prisoners approach to anything involving an acronym. Well done!
There were so many excellent, clever and downright hilarious entries that we agonized over the decision, but the winning entry eloquently stated what we’ve ALL been thinking since the third season began. And the winner is…

Our first runner up sounds a little exasperated.

Our second runner up sent the entire V-D.net team into hysterics with this gem:

Congratulations to our winners! We can’t just leave it at that, though. There were so many great entries that we just had to put some more of our favorites out there for the world to see. Make sure to put down your beverages before you read these, or we can’t be responsible for the results.
SEE MORE OF OUR FAVORITES HERE! ENJOY!

The last Vampire Diaries cast hold-out has finally succumbed to social media’s siren call – everyone welcome Steven R. McQueen to Twitter: @McQueenInChains. The account has been confirmed by both Kat Graham and Matt Davis, so that is the real deal. This means you have ZERO excuse for falling for all those fake McQueen accounts now, you hear? Give him a follow and welcome him to the crazy town of Twitter.
And in other Twitter news, Joseph Morgan’s Twitter account has changed to: @JosephMorgan. (No more underscore!) The name change doesn’t affect his followers, so no need to re-follow him.
