The Vampire Diaries TV SeriesWe see trouble on the way… Late last night/early this morning, Michael Trevino posted an eerie shot of the woods, along with what we’re pretty sure is confirmation that Season 2′s third episode is titled Bad Moon Rising. He definitely confirmed the ep’s director, Patrick Norris, who has worked on Friday Night Lights, Chuck, and Gossip Girl, amongst many other shows.

As far as we can tell, this new Season 2 footage was included in the CW’s preview program of its upcoming show roster. It’s a rollercoaster ride of a 20 seconds, so hang on tight. Thanks to The Vampire Diaries: Blood Falls.

The Vampire Diaries TV SeriesTV Guide’s Natalie Abrams caught up with Julie Plec, who sheds more light on the plethora of Season 2 tidbits that came out of Comic Con this past weekend, and also explains that certain devastating events happen for a reason.

TVGuide.com: How close will you stay to the novels as you carry on?
Plec: The deeper we get into the series, ironically, the more we’re going to be taking from the books. That’s cool because we strayed so far so quickly, just by definition of trying to shape a good story in the right way for television. To find ourselves naturally returning to the source material and the villains that you met, it’s kind of awesome.

Villainssssss?

And MTV’s Hollywood Crush has posted two more videos from their Comic Con sitdown with the Vampire Diaries cast. You can check out a brief video of Julie discussing Elena and Katherine here, and watch some amusing “speculation” about werewolf effects from Paul Wesley and Matt Davis below, with more reliable insight from Michael Trevino:

By the way, the TCAs are in full-swing in L.A., and the CW’s session is getting ready to begin as you read this. Thanks to @stayingin for giving us all a glimpse of our very first new Season 2 promo shot. It’s not the best quality, but it is shiny new promo of Paul, Nina, and Ian!

The Vampire Diaries TV SeriesMichael Trevino and Ian Somerhalder pumped everyone up yesterday with episode titles, shy pageant queens, and dancing McQueens (happy birthday, Steven! And happy birthday tomorrow, Sara Canning!), and Nina Dobrev tweeted at 5am this morning that she was heading to set for the official first day of Vampire Diaries Season 2. Game on!

No. Seriously. Nina really means it. (That pic’s from director of photography Paul M. Sommers.)

He hasn’t posted yet (we hope he will!), but director/producer J. Miller Tobin – who seems to be taking over Marcos Siega’s position on the TVD Team – is now on Twitter! You can find him at @millertobin. You’ll remember him from his directing duties on last season’s episodes The Turning Point and Isobel (which are currently ranked at #4 and #3, respectively, in the favorite Season 1 episodes poll).

And, finally, Michael Trevino shares the below snapshot via Twitter and says:

I’m thinkin this is what’s going on the back of our cast chairs this season. Photo is bad quality, but look closely.

Vampire Diaries Season 2

If that doesn’t get you excited, we’re not sure what will. Check out those clawmarks for “2″! (Thanks to Michael for letting us share!)

The Vampire Diaries TV SeriesStarry Constellation Magazine recently spoke with Katerina Graham about her new single, “Sassy,” and upcoming film Honey 2. And then at the very end of the interview, Kat offers up a Bonnie tidbit that’s going to raise a few Vampire Diaries fan eyebrows.

Q. With shooting season two of “Vampire Diaries,” what can you tease us about what’s going to happen with Bonnie?

A. I can’t talk about the other characters because I don’t want to piss anyone off but Bonnie is definitely pretty fearless in the new one. If there was a promise to anyone in the last episode, she keeps it. Let’s just say that. She is not one to F with right now, if I didn’t know her, I’d steer clear.

Uh oh.

Paul Wesley Fans and I Heart Vampire Diaries have teamed up to bring fans the Ultimate Fan Interview with Ms. Graham:

We will select the sweet 16 questions submitted. This is your chance as a fan to ask Kat anything about her career, including and focusing on her music/fashion interests. And in case you’re keeping track, we now have (public) confirmation that the cast resumes production in Atlanta this coming Tuesday, July 13th - thanks to Carina MacKenzie at Zap2It. (That also happens to be Steven R. McQueen’s birthday, so we hope the cake holds up in the heat.) If you’re on Twitter, you know the crew’s been in prep for a while and the cast has been filtering back for the past week, so be on the look out for some tweets/photos from the set.

Speaking of Ms. Carina – she’s going to be hanging out on the Vampire Diaries set next week and will likely be tweeting up a storm. Don’t miss out on her coverage – follow her at @cadlymack. Also, she’s funny and shares our undying love for Neko Case, in case you need additional motivation.

Taylor Kinney cast as Mason Lockwood on Vampire DiariesMichael Trevino teased earlier today that Vampire Diaries had found its Mason Lockwood – younger brother to Mayor Lockwood and uncle to Tyler – and, mercifully, we weren’t left hanging for too long. Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello broke the news this evening that former Trauma star Taylor Kinney will be joining the show as a recurring guest star, making his first appearance in the premiere episode of Season 2.

READ MORE OVER AT ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY.

So what do you guys think? Excited about another Lockwood?

The Vampire Diaries TV SeriesNina Dobrev and KRMA Clothing are teaming up (again!) and this time they’re giving you the chance to win something BIG: a KRMA Jade leather jacket, like the one Nina wears as Elena Gilbert on The Vampire Diaries (and in real life!). Here’s KRMA’s description:

Nina Dobrev, Fergie, Pink, Alicia Keys and Audrina Patridge love this line! Celebrities love the function meets fashion design from KRMA. You’ll love this soft leather jacket with richly gathered detail along the sleeves and back yoke. Zip front, snaps at stand collar and hem, three-quarter sleeves.

100% leather.
Dry clean.
Made in the U.S.A.

This is a $650 leather jacket, guys. Start coveting.

Here’s how the contest works (per Nina and KRMA):

  • Follow @ninadobrev on Twitter. Follow @krmaclothing too, while you’re at it.
  • Nina will be posting THREE TRIVIA QUESTIONS on her Twitter, once a week. Tonight she posted the first question.
  • AFTER she has posted ALL THREE QUESTIONS, send your three answers to krma@krmaglobal.com. You can’t win the jacket unless your email contains all three correct answers to Nina’s trivia questions.
  • The winner of the Jade jacket will be the 500th person to send an email with three correct answers.

Put on your thinking caps and GOOD LUCK!

Vampire

Photo courtesy of HMV’s Facebook page. They have a lot more over there, so check it out!

U.K. fans were lining up as early as midnight in London, determined to score one of 300+ wristbands that would gain them admission to the Vampire Diaries cast signing at the Oxford St. HMV. @SkatingGirl4 snapped an early morning photo of the crowd (and a shot of an Ian Somerhalder-looking dude waiting in line, and probably enjoying every minute of it). @hmv_getcloser also tweeted a few photos: one from the morning line and another hours before the signing, as well as some shots from inside the shop.

Later, @lisa_shetabi and @primarkprincess tweeted shots from the HMV stage – packed house! @GQRecommends commented on the crowds outside of the London hotel where the TVD press junket was held this morning (and mentioned interviewing Ian, so stay tuned!).

And some pics of Paul, Nina, and Ian from inside the event, thanks to @Denni_Lee, via @VDSource. And lots of photos courtesy of @sammi_jade.

We’ll be updating with links, photos, and (hopefully!) video as it trickles in.
