The CW has started filtering out these AWESOME new Season 4 promo pics and we’re going to start with Caroline, Tyler, and Klaus. Seriously, the detail on these portraits – we’re going to be analyzing them for hours. Can’t wait to see the rest of the set! The Vampire Diaries returns this Thursday, October 11th, 8/7c on the CW. Click each image to view a larger version in the Gallery. What do you think? Does this hold up to last year’s fruit portraits?
Loose n’ dirty translation of the Latin on each portrait, Klaus – Blood is power, Caroline – Love is sacrifice, Tyler – Love has/holds me. (This could be in the sense of “love carries me” or “love possesses me” . . . interesting.)
Another day, another day of cast interview spoils courtesy of the CW! Today we have Michael Trevino discussing Tyler not being quite himself…
Need a little something to perk up your Monday? Entertainment Weekly has some Season 4 scoop for us, as well as some answers to a few frequently-asked questions about where things left off in last season’s finale. The teases cover everything from romance to murder, so it sounds like Season 4 will be kicking off in true Vampire Diaries style.
The Teen Choice Awards announced its second round of nominations today, and The Vampire Diaries racked up another three nominations:
Choice Villain: Joseph Morgan
Choice Scene Stealer Male: Michael Trevino
Choice Scene Stealer Female: Candice Accola
These nominations are in addition to the six previous nominations the show received. To vote, log in to the official site. You can vote every day, so get out there and support our show! The awards show will air on July 22, and we’ll have more information about that broadcast as it gets closer.
TV Guide interviewed Michael Trevino and Zach Roerig recently and asked the actors about their favorite episodes in season three. Michael Trevino also shares a little about how he wants to handle Tyler’s new situation (spoilers!) so watch out if you haven’t seen The Departed (EP322).
Few characters on The Vampire Diaries have gone through as many changes as Tyler Lockwood over the last three seasons, and Michael Trevino has had some really great moments to shine along the way.
The actor recently spoke with TV Guide about the many faces of Tyler, and what storyline he’d liked to have seen more of. Great big spoilers for The Departed (EP322)!
“I was really nonexistent in Season 1. Tyler was really one-note, a jerk, and an alpha male d—–bag — it was boring and I was frustrated,” he says. “To see how fast Tyler’s arc has progressed from Seasons 2 and 3 — when he first found out about the werewolf thing, then he turns into a werewolf, and in Season 3 he becomes the first successful hybrid, and his relationship on and off with Caroline — I like the way things went and that he grew up.”
Hybrid fans, rejoice: Tyler’s returning to the show very soon, and Zap2it spoke with Michael Trevino to get some scoop on his imminent return and what’s coming up for his character at the end of the season. Has he broken that sire bond? What’s going on between him and Caroline? Click through to find out, but beware of spoilers! Also: This will be Tyler’s first on-screen Mystic Falls dance!
“In the three seasons, for some reason or another, Tyler hasn’t been at any of these dances. He’s never there, so for me it was cool to finally be involved in that process,” Trevino says. “I got a whole different getup as far as my wardrobe, and it was the first time that I actually had dance rehearsal, on ‘The Vampire Diaries.’ I’ve never had to go through that drill, so it was kind of fun.”
Candice Accola was a guest on KTLA Morning News this morning (video soon!) and here is a very brief Heart of Darkness clip of Caroline and Tyler that aired during her interview. Thanks, Mil2aCle!
Looks like it’s Candice Accola‘s turn for a round of interviews! She spoke with Entertainment Weekly about (spoiler alert!) what Caroline’s been up to lately, a lot of fans were missing her last week. According to the actress, Caroline is following Stefan’s example, (not the murder-y one, guys, don’t panic), and is stepping up to help out someone in need.
“We’re gonna see Caroline step into the role of the mothering mentor. We’re gonna learn about what happens when a witch does transition into a vampire and what that means and what she loses,” she says. “We’re gonna get to know Jamie [the young man Abby took in while she was estranged from Bonnie] a little bit better. I can say he’s chopping wood in a very revealing tank top, ladies. So get ready, because those arms are chopping wood like no other.”
Meanwhile, Zap2it also interviewed Candice, and asked her a few questions about how Caroline feeling about her father’s killer right now, and where things stand between Miss Mystic Falls and the much-missed Mr. Tyler Lockwood. Beware of spoilers!
Zap2it: When Tyler comes back, is it a happy reunion for the two of them?
Candice: It’s happy because they want to see each other. We’re going to learn if Tyler was able to break the sire bond or if he wasn’t, and that’s going to effect how their relationship moves forward.
