But never fear – they made their own (adorable) thank you video in which they thank the writers, the fans, and more! Carina MacKenzie at Zap2it has posted it along with some more on Michael’s and Kat’s awards:

Kevin Williamson fielded a few Vampire Diaries questions during The Secret Circle portion of the Television Critics Association press panel today. Here are some choice snippets via Twitter by attending press:
@VladaGelman: Tyler/Caroline/Matt triangle going to be right alongside Stefan/Elena/Damon.
@TVGuideMagazine: Bonnie will be “front and center” during the new season of #VampireDiaries says Kevin Williamson
@TVDWetpaint: A witch is at the root of the Original families mythology – so Kevin Williamson says Bonnie will be at the center of Season 3.
@LauinLA: And Bonnie’s story is integral to next season of #TVD, she’s at the center of both Jeremy’s story and the Stefan/Klaus/hybrid arc.
@BuzzSugar: #VampireDiaries fans: don’t get your hopes up for a cross over with #TheSecretCircle. Kevin Williamson says it ain’t happenin’

The clock is ticking down to the Vampire Diaries Season 3 premiere and, lucky for us, Executive Producer Julie Plec is opening up about what we can expect when the show returns on Thursday, September 15th. In addition to plenty of drama involving Jeremy, Bonnie, back-from-the-dead Vicki and Anna, Elena and Salvatore complications, Caroline and Tyler, and whether Daniel Gillies will return this season as Elijah (was there ever any doubt?), Julie tells TV Guide’s Robyn Ross that they have a lot of planned for the so-called “Year of the Originals”:
You dubbed Season 3 “The Year of the Originals.”
Plec: In the beginning, we’ll catch nice glimpses in flashbacks of a time when Stefan was a true ripper. We’ll get to see what that was like and how he got this reputation that Klaus has been holding on to because Klaus wants Stefan to be his wingman. Then, once we get into our second chapter in mid-fall-early winter, that’s when we’re really going to be digging deeply into the history of the original family and go all the way back in flashbacks to the year 1000 approximately. We’re going to tell their origin story, see where and who Klaus comes from, why he is the way he is and why he so desperately needs some therapy or a hug.

Entertainment Weekly‘s Mandi Bierly has more Season 3 goodies courtesy of Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec, and this time we have a nice tease for the developing relationship between Tyler and Caroline. Last we left our species-crossed pair, they were cuddling underneath a blanket in differing stages of (un)dress. And it looks like romance is indeed in the air though, like everything on The Vampire Diaries, it’s complicated:
“We now have a mother who knows her daughter’s a vampire, and we might soon have a mayor who figures out that her son is a werewolf,” Williamson says. “When that happens, it’s certainly building itself to a family feud. That’s the fun Mystic Falls storyline that’s underplaying throughout the entire season.”

Wetpaint has an exclusive interview with Kayla Ewell about her return to The Vampire Diaries as Vicki . . . or Vicki’s ghost? Or something.
“I think what’s interesting about Vicki coming back is that it’s not just solely about Jeremy. It’s about having unfinished business with my brother, Matt (Zach Roerig), and my ex-boyfriend, Tyler (Michael Trevino). There are just so many different ways to go with the story. And after my little talk with Kevin Williamson I think they’re going to do some really fascinating things. There’s going to be so many twists and turns — even just talking to him about it I had butterflies in my stomach! I was just so excited about the ideas they’ve been tossing around. So we’ll see what they come up with, but I just know that Kevin and Julie will do a fantastic job whatever they decide.”
