As a follow up to their appearance on ‘This Morning’ yesterday in the UK, Nina, Paul and Ian also took part in an interview behind the scenes. The questions and answers are a little more interesting and fun, and Ian suggests an interesting tidbit that Katherine may be 400 years old. Watch the interview below (and wear sunglasses – the wallpaper is certainly… something else).
Note: Nina drops a big spoiler for the season finale at the 3:00 mark and as the finale hasn’t aired in the U.K. yet, beware!
My index finger hurts from clicking refresh so much today. HMV has uploaded a brief video from today’s Vampire Diaries cast signing in London, featuring Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, and Ian Somerhalder. Turn the volume down on your computer!
HMV says they’ll have better video footage up tomorrow!

U.K. fans were lining up as early as midnight in London, determined to score one of 300+ wristbands that would gain them admission to the Vampire Diaries cast signing at the Oxford St. HMV. @SkatingGirl4 snapped an early morning photo of the crowd (and a shot of an Ian Somerhalder-looking dude waiting in line, and probably enjoying every minute of it). @hmv_getcloser also tweeted a few photos: one from the morning line and another hours before the signing, as well as some shots from inside the shop.
Later, @lisa_shetabi and @primarkprincess tweeted shots from the HMV stage – packed house! @GQRecommends commented on the crowds outside of the London hotel where the TVD press junket was held this morning (and mentioned interviewing Ian, so stay tuned!).
We’ll be updating with links, photos, and (hopefully!) video as it trickles in.

UPDATE3: HMV event photographer Sonia Levesque’s photos of today’s Vampire Diaries signing. And video footage of today’s event, courtesy of HMV.
The BBC’s the 5:19 Show will be interviewing Nina, Paul and Ian tomorrow, and they need your help with a fun little game they want to play with them. The list of questions are in a post over in our forums (you’ll need to sign up to post – it doesn’t take long), or you can leave your answers in the comments here, and we’ll let the 5:19 team know where to look.
The show itself will be aired at a later date, but the 5:19 team will be posting it on YouTube when it does go live so that international fans can see it too. We’ll get that up here for you all as soon as it’s available, so keep your eyes peeled.
Earlier this morning (very early for fans in the US), UK fans of the Vampire Diaries were able to catch Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder talking about the show on ‘This Morning’. For those who missed it, or aren’t in the UK, we’ve got video of the interview below.
For all you UK fans who have been wondering when the Vampire Diaries cast were going to be in England next, we’re happy to tell you that it will be next week. Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder will be attending a signing at HMV, 150 Oxford Street, London at 6:30pm on Thursday, June 3rd. Because they’re only going to be there for an hour, places are limited to 350, and you’ll need to obtain a wristband from the Oxford Street store on the day. They’ll be available from 9am on a first come first serve basis, so you’ll need to get in there quickly.
Have we mentioned lately how much we love Lorraine over at the L.J. Smith Cover Resource? She’s been working her cover voodoo and has come up trumps with all kinds of Vampire Diaries book cover goodies for us.
First up, to your left you will see the UK cover for The Return: Midnight (click on the image to view a larger version). This is the first cover we’ve seen anywhere for Midnight, and I’ve got to admit to a little bit of pride that the UK got in there first. While we may have a cover, we’re still seeing a range of dates for the publication date, from July of this year to November next year. As soon as we have something concrete, we’ll get it up on the website for you.
We’ve also got some more covers for other books in the series – from reprints to brand new publications in the UK, France, Germany and Japan. Read on to view all the new covers…
The CW have released a short series promo to let us know that the Vampire Diaries has “TV’s most smoldering cast”. We think they may be on to something there. ;)
ITV2 also have a promo up for episodes 12 to 14 in the UK, in which the cast is indeed looking smoldering (thanks, Denise!):
And finally, Denis has been in touch to let us know that The Return: Nightfall is set for publication in Bulgaria at some point in May. You can see the cover (which is a combination of the Bulgarian covers for The Struggle and The Fury) below.
Rogue Events’ Insurgence: Bloodlines – the fan convention originally scheduled for this month in Birmingham and now rescheduled for September 10-12 in London – has just announced Paul Wesley as a Guest of Honor. Please keep in mind (as we learned from Nina Dobrev’s cancelled appearance) that con guests are subject to change. For information on tickets and hotel, check out the official Insurgence: Bloodlines page.
And Indonesia’s DaMan Magazine (which featured Zach Roerig in December) just tweeted to say Paul will be featured in their April 2010 issue. DaMan says they interviewed Paul last night (“Super nice guy, btw!”) and we can get a sneak peek at photos on April 1st. Stay tuned.
UPDATE: DaMan also says Paul will be on the cover!
A couple of weeks ago we posted with a link to the first chapter of The Vampire Diaries: The Return: Shadow Souls, which ended with a bit of a cliffhanger. HarperTeen have decided that fans shouldn’t be left in the dark, and have made the first eight chapters of Shadow Souls available to read on their website. Many thanks to Michelle for the heads up.
