This Friday’s issue of TV Guide Magazine has a spread of Vampire Diaries behind-the-scenes photos courtesy of Kayla Ewell, who also gives some spoilery insight into what the future holds for Vicki and Jeremy, reveals that the vampires of the show don’t yet have the hang of the whole biting thing, and gives up Michael Trevino and Zach Roerig‘s dirty little Twitter secret (with photographic evidence! – we’re LOL-ing over here). Click on the images below to see bigger, readable scans in the gallery (a little spoilery!) – and big, big thanks to Denise for the scans.
Nina Dobrev is featured in the new issue of Glamour, along with Sara Paxton (R.I.P. The Beautiful Life) and Jessica Lucas (Melrose Place), and we have a scan courtesy of Nina Dobrev Fan.
The CW Connect has a video interview with Nina where she answers fan questions about the show, including whether Elena suspects Stefan is a vampire, the vibe on the set, how much she knows about what future episodes hold, and how the show is different from Twilight and True Blood. Lots of good stuff – you can view it at CWtv.com or on the official Vampire Diaries Facebook (the second link should work for you, non-U.S.A. peoples).

Contrary to earlier information, Kayla Ewell didn’t appear on CBS’ The Early Show (apologies for that). She was, however, on WPIX morning news, and we have the video for you to watch below. Kayla talks about the Vampire Diaries, being the opposite of Vicki when she was at school, how she wanted to play Vicki from the beginning, working in Atlanta, attraction to bad boy vampires, and working on the show.
Thanks to Johanna for pointing us at this!

Thanks to Naim for letting us know that Mexico’s official launch date for The Vampire Diaries has been confirmed: October 22nd on Warner.
For those of you absolutely desperate to see Ian Somerhalder’s Tyra Show appearance last Friday, there is a very low-quality recording up on YouTube (we’re talking “point the camcorder at the TV” quality) that contains the entire interview. (We advise you to turn your volume down while he’s walking out. Trust us. Thanks to @weebebe for the heads up!)
TV Guide Magazine has a super-brief PaleyFest red carpet talk with Kevin and Julie, but they do reveal something quite interesting: more than one love triangle brewing? Vampire Diaries talk starts at 2:25.
And a freelancer has a brief interview with Kayla that apparently appeared or is set to appear in H Monthly LA:
Vicki plays an important role at the end of the first episode, what should we expect to see from her?
There is so much that is going to happen to Vicki, it’s exciting! I got the second script and I was like wow, they really expect a lot from me, it’s great!
As the show progresses you start to see the humanity and feel sorry for her, and pity her. There are so many moments of vulnerability and her family life is explored. She has no girlfriends, I never have scenes with the girls in the cast it’s always with the men! Vicki only knows guys and sleeps with them!

Ratings are in for “Night of the Comet”, and while numbers are down from last week, they’re still very good. From TV MoJoe:
“Vampire Diaries”: Against much tougher competition (DVR alert!), the show proved it’s still undead. Results: 1.7/6 in adults 18-34, 2.6/8 in women 18-34 and 3.76 million eyeballs. That’s down from the premiere: 2.2/8 in 18-34, 3.0/10 in women 18-34 and 4.84 million viewers.
There’s a new trailer for “Friday Night Bites”, similar to the one from last night but with a few extra scenes.
The CWSource has posted a video interview with Kayla Ewell, who talks about knowing from the start that she wanted to play Vicki, the audition process, and how much she loves working with Vampire Diaries’ cast and crew.
Popstar.com have an interview with Katerina Graham:
PopStar: Give us all the juicy details about your character Bonnie Bennett.
Katerina Graham: I play Bonnie Bennett in the show. Bonnie Bennett is psychic and she is also Elena Gilbert’s best friend, they grew up together. She has this foreboding energy about her, in the beginning it is about little intuitions and senses things which I think is so amazing. They are giving her this gift right when vampires come to town. She knows that something is wrong but she can’t put her finger on it. Throughout the show, her powers grow and she actually gets put to the test on a couple of things. It is a great character; she has this hippie style, very fun, innocent and very fun to play.
Finally, everyone give Nina Dobrev a warm welcome to the world of Twitter. She’s on there now as @Real_NinaDobrev, and the pretenders are no more. UPDATE Confirmed by Katerina Graham and executive producer of Degrassi, Stephen Stohn.

The CW have posted two clips from episode 2 of the Vampire Diaries, “Night of the Comet”, on their YouTube channel. We’re unsure whether this is awesome, or utterly evil. ;)
First up, Stefan, Matt and Vicki at the hospital.
And a scene between Damon, Elena and Stefan.
So, does this help tide you all over until Thursday, or does it just make the wait even more agonising? ;)

We tweeted this earlier, but the Vampire Diaries pilot re-run last night pulled in strong numbers, with 2.04 million viewers. Read all about it at TV By the Numbers.
Courtesy of a kind soul, we have some additional stills from “Night of the Comet” (EP02/101) and “Friday Night Bites” (EP03/102) to share with you today. And yep, still loving Caroline’s scarf.
Vampire Diaries has officially joined the Television Without Pity club. If you’re a TWoP addict (like me), you know to tighten your snark cap before delving into their recaps. Vampire Diaries fans have been snarking their own canon for years, so watching others take the reins on the TV show is going to be entertaining indeed. (Not that we won’t be having our own fun in this regard, but we’re into sharing.) Cindy McLennan has posted her recaplet of the pilot (full recap to come later), TV is the Answer tackles big questions, and Vampire Diaries now has its own shiny, official forum.

Episode four of the Vampire Diaries now has a title: “Family Ties”. We also have a bunch of episode stills, and now have photographic evidence that Jenna actually exists. ;) There’s also a picture of Vicki at the end that looks distinctly posed, so we’re thinking it may (though we won’t swear to it) be a picture from a photoshoot rather than a still from the episode. Kayla at the Greystone Mansion shoot, perhaps?

Some new stills from the Vampire Diaries TV series have cropped up, courtesy of SpoilerTV. Most of them appear to be from the pilot, while the final three look to be from the following episode. It’s good to finally see a clearer shot of Vicki (pictured with Matt and Tyler) in there, along with stills of Stefan on the roof with Damon, Stefan with Elena, Damon with Elena, and Matt with Bonnie. Hopefully some better resolution versions of these will turn up before too long, as it would be nice to see them in better detail.

In other promotional image news, a new poster from the WB has been released. It’s the same image that’s being used for the TV tie-in cover for The Awakening (due for publication on the 25th of this month), just in a much higher resolution so we get to see all the detail.

Somerhalder is set to play Damon, a smug vampire who can go from playful to evil in a split second.
