MTV’s 10 on Top has a preview snippet of Nina Dobrev’s upcoming interview this Saturday, January 22nd. She answers questions from fans and, in this snippet, discusses the possibility of a Vampire Diaries movie. (Don’t get too excited, TVD fans.) Don’t miss the full interview on Saturday at 11:30am/10:30c!
And L.A. Times contributor Vlada Gelman has a round-up of Nina’s quotes from the TCA “Kick-Ass Women of the CW” panel, as well as the cocktail party afterwards.
And if Elena does survive, what will happen to her after graduation? Would she like to see college in her future? “Yeah, of course,” she said. “But she hasn’t really been in school much lately, so I don’t know how she’s going to graduate…. Well you know what, she probably still gets As in all of her schoolwork even though she doesn’t go because her aunt is dating her teacher.”
TV Guide‘s Robyn Ross is back yet again with a Vampire Diaries cast interview, this time with the lovely Katerina Graham. She discusses whether Bonnie wanted to kiss Jeremy (and why she stopped him in the first place), whether Bonnie may have feelings for Luka, and hints that a returning character may be up to no good when the series returns on Thursday, January 27th.
Also, if you’re bored and need a laugh tonight, you can thank our followers for latching on to @abbygraham‘s #SomewhereInMysticFalls meme. All we know is that #SomewhereInMysticFalls, the blood bank is wondering why numbers don’t add up, students are illiterate, and bunnies are plotting Stefan’s downfall. Thanks for playing, everyone! HUGE laughs tonight!
E!’s Watch with Kristin catches up with Nina Dobrev in Los Angeles. Nina discusses what fans can expect in the rest of Season 2, playing both Elena and Katherine, Elena’s relationship with Stefan and Damon, Elena’s development as a character, what Elena might make of Jeremy and Bonnie together, and her thoughts on Kevin and Julie’s new show in currently in development. She also does a hilarious Sacha Baron Cohen-as-Klaus impersonation! Check it out below:
Yes, it’s official: Daniel Gillies – currently humiliating vampires, making deals with doppelgängers, and patronizing musicians as Elijah on The Vampire Diaries – has ventured into the world of Twitter: @mrholymonster. He lists himself as a cake stylist and a bounty hunter, and – as fellow History major Heroine TV pointed out – he drops the word “phalanx” in interviews like most people say “grocery store.” (Alala!) Anyway – you should give him a follow, but be prepared to take sides in any further Twitter jousts with Matt Davis. And perhaps someone should let him know that pie trumps cake. (I’m sorry, but it does.)
PopSugar caught up with Candice Accola on the 2011 Art of Elysium Gala red carpet.
And, finally, a new episode of The Televixen‘s Vampire Diaries podcast is up, this time covering Rose – “Chuck Norris Wears Klaus Pyjamas.”
What an appropriate video to follow Erin Brown’s Know Thyself, Be Thyself guest post, right? TV Guide‘s Robyn Ross is back with another Vampire Diaries cast interview, this time with Steven R. McQueen, who discusses Jeremy’s growth so far in Season 2 and his search for a father figure, a potential romance with Bonnie, and why he thinks Jeremy always has good intentions. Check out Robyn’s article over at TV Guide.com.
The lovely @TVD_Chloe asked if we could point fans to Michael Trevino Online’s Birthday Project, in honor of Michael’s birthday on January 25th. Chloe will be editing together a video of birthday wishes from fans. If you want to participate, head over to MTO to get details on how you can submit. (Don’t have a camera? You can also sign his birthday card.) Deadline is January 18th.
For those of you attending EyeCon’s Vampire Diaries Convention in Atlanta, March 25-27, entertainment site FanBolt is putting together a Vampire Diaries fan party (not associated with the convention) for Thursday, March 24th, and are gauging interest. If you want to watch the March 24th episode of the show and hang out with your fellow fans (plus lots of other cool stuff), you can find more information on the FanBolt forums and let them know if you’re attending in this thread (please do let them know so they can get an accurate headcount!).
Finally, some of you may be aware, but in case you’re not – Jess and Bri of Vampire Stalkers / Mystic Falls Tours / The VRO suffered the sudden and terrible loss of Jess’ mother (and Bri’s grandmother) earlier this week. The family has no insurance and Jess has (quite understandably) had to postpone all MF tours so the family can grieve and make arrangements. If you would like to help the family, please consider making a donation via the PayPal button (in the left column) on the Vampire Stalkers website. Jess and Bri are wonderful people and deserve all the fandom support we can give them at this time. Red and I extend our deepest condolences.
TV Guide‘s Robyn Ross returns with another Vampire Diaries cast video interview and this time it’s Candice Accola analyzing Caroline Forbes and her hopes in the second half of Season 2. Check out the entire story on TVGuide.com.
Thanks to Amy on the heads up that TV Guide has finally posted their TV Guide Network special “TV’s Unforgettable Moments of 2010″ on YouTube. Vampire Diaries made their list at #11 with Damon confessing his love for Elena from the episode Rose – fast-forward to 3:23 in the video. (And, bonus, there’s a special mention of Jimmy Fallon’s Emmy opening number at #13, which included Nina Dobrev.)
With 2010 almost over, we’re seeing the Vampire Diaries continuing to gain recognition for being awesome. The show did well in Buzzsugar’s 2010 Sugar Awards, scooping up awards for Katherine as best villain, Damon and Elena as the TV couple with the hottest sexual tension, and the show won overall as Best Network TV Drama of 2010. Yahoo! Canada also rate the series highly, suggesting that it “could have a long, undead life ahead”.
There’s some photo shoot goodness to share, courtesy of I Heart Vampire Diaries and Lovely Sucks. Michael Trevino is the featured “Look of the Week” in Five Four’s blog (check out the rest of the images on IHVD). There are some images of Ian from a recent Collin Stark photoshoot, and also a video of behind the scenes of Nina’s photoshoot with Flare.
TV Guide‘s Robyn Ross has yet another cast video interview from her Vampire Diaries set visit earlier this month. This time she chats with Sara Canning about Jenna’s relationship with Alaric, Isobel, Katherine, Plan B‘s infamous stabbing scene, and how Jenna might feel about what’s really going on in Mystic Falls.
“I think if she were to find out it would be such a betrayal,” Canning said. “We’ve seen Jenna with her claws out a few times [but] … I really want to see what she’s actually capable of.”
Thanks to the always lovely Robyn Ross for allowing us to embed the video!
