Zach Roerig is going to be appearing in the December issue of Indonesia’s men’s fashion and lifestyle magazine, DaMan. The article will contain an interview, along with an exclusive photoshoot (one picture here), and if any of our Indonesian readers want to scan the article and share it, then that would be awesome.

Mr. Roerig also managed to sneak in an interview with NY PIX Morning News over on WPIX a few days ago to talk about the Vampire Diaries and his character, Matt Donovan. Check out the video below.

The Vampire Diaries TV SeriesAccording to HitFix, The Vampire Diaries is holding steady in the ratings, averaging an audience of 4.21 million viewers for last night’s episode. TV By the Numbers has the half-hour breakdowns.

UPDATE: CW press release, via TV By the Numbers – The CW’s Vampire Diaries sinks its teeth into first place among young women.

The CW’s freshman smash THE VAMPIRE DIARIES won the 8:00-9:00p.m. time period among women 18-34 (3.1/9), females 12-34 (2.8/9) and female teens (2.1/8), according to preliminary live plus same day Nielsen ratings for Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009. VAMPIRE DIARIES ranked second in adults 18-34 (2.3/7) and persons 12-34 (2.1/7), just 0.1 behind #1 CBS in both demos.

Just So You Know interviews Zach Roerig about the show’s success, whether Vicki’s fate is truly open-ended (or way final), and the minor panics that come with each new script (laughed so hard):

JSYK: Congrats on the show’s success. It just got picked up for a full season?

Zach: Yep, a full 22. Now I just have to hope I don’t get killed off before then.

JSYK: Do you think that is a possibility?

Zach: You never know. Every time I read that script and it says, “Matt enters the room and Damon follows” I’m like, ‘Oh my God…’

And finally, a big shout-out to fellow (mega!) fansite, True-Blood.net, who asked Vampire-Diaries.net to contribute to their True Blood-hiatus column, What To Watch. Guess what’s featured? Read what they (and we) have to say about The Vampire Diaries and stake your claim on a chance to win some cool Vampire Diaries goodies! Big thanks to Mel and Liz for asking us to participate (we’re fans of True Blood, too, so it was our pleasure).

The Vampire Diaries TV SeriesIan Somerhalder talks to BackStage about auditions, past roles, and Damon Salvatore:

“Damon is, by societal standards, bordering on the level of a sociopath,” says Somerhalder with a chuckle. “But here’s an interesting thing: My coach, Ivana Chubbuck, one phrase that she coined about Damon is that Damon has ill intentions but for righteous reasons. People like that are beyond dangerous. On a positive note, what makes that really fun is he truly believes in what he’s doing and he loves it.”

AOL Travel has an amusing Q&A with Zach Roerig about Atlanta, traveling, and various (mis)adventures he’s had while on the road.

What’s Your Favorite Childhood Vacation Memory?
Zach Roerig: One night in North Carolina my cousins and I stumbled upon a sea turtle laying eggs on the beach. I was the oldest of the group and seized the opportunity to explain the birds and the bees to the youngsters, much to their parents chagrin.

We blogged a while back about Kayla Ewell appearing on That Morning Show. It took some time, but the video of that interview is now up on YouTube. She talks about a lot of stuff, from Vampire Diaries and working with everyone in Atlanta, to her time on The Bold and the Beautiful.

In a quick roundup of links, PopEater have a short interview with Zach Roerig. Amber has sent us a variation on the Halloween Bites advert, Halloween Sucks. Vampire Diaries adverts are all over the place, and while we really should learn to expect the unexpected when it comes to this show, aerial advertising was something that managed to surprise me. Oh, and don’t forget, you have less than two hours to bid on Paul Wesley’s breast cancer bear. It’s an awesome cause, and well worth supporting.

Finally, thanks to KryptonSite, we have a couple more images from “Haunted” to drive you insane with before Thursday. Enjoy. ;)

The Vampire Diaries TV SeriesNY Post’s Pop Wrap caught up with Zach Roerig to talk vampires, heroes, Vampire Diaries mythology, and Matt’s torch for Elena.

PW: Between the possibility of having to protect Elena and then Matt’s little sister Vicki, who’s always getting herself into trouble, is Matt’s role to play the hero?
Zach: I think he’s one of a couple heroes, yeah. Stefan’s definitely trying to be a hero. He’s trying to make amends for whatever wrongs he may have made in his past… There’s vampires and there’s bound to be other specials powers and I think Matt’s the one beacon of just like real, honest, good-hearted. He’s just got a pure heart. He doesn’t have any special powers, he’s just a good guy tryin’ to do the right thing.

Zach Roerig as MattFancast has an interview up with Zach Roerig, who plays Matt Donovan on the show. Amongst other things, he talks a lot about Matt, his relationship with Elena, the Donovan family background, working in Atlanta and with the other people involved with the Vampire Diaries, and… Matt the Vampire Slayer? We think that could work, as long as Stefan isn’t on the list for staking.

Where are Matt and Vickie’s parents? Matt seems to take care of Vickie almost like her father.
I don’t think that Matt or Vickie ever really had a father figure around. That’s why the Mom all through their childhood was bouncing around from guy to guy. So Vickie and Matt had to raise themselves.

What would you like Matt’s character arc to be?
I think that every family [in Mystic Falls] is going to have some kind of secret. I think it would be cool if Matt killed a vampire. I think once Matt realizes that there are vampires he will definitely be involved in the killing of vampires.
