Claire Holt as RebekahClaire Holt recently chatted with Zap2it about The Originals spinoff and more. On Rebekah and Katherine:

“It’s kind of funny,” Claire tells us. “They’re so similar in a way, but so different in a way. I think Rebekah likes having the power. She likes controlling situations. I think she’s liked to play that sort of vixen role in Mystic Falls, and Katherine has been the ultimate vixen, so I don’t think they’re going to be the best of friends, that’s for sure.”

Ian Somerhalder is extra playful in this interview with Zap2it, dodging questions about the sire bond and Damon and Elena’s relationship. He does have some insight into Elena’s state of mind, however, and talks a little about Rebekah and that character’s similarities to Damon. Ian also shares some of the truest words ever spoken about Mystic Falls:

“Can they sustain a relationship? Or — not a relationship, they are in a relationship, but can they sustain a romance? It’s hard to sustain anything in Mystic Falls, except, like, a drinking habit. Those seem to be pretty sustainable,” he teases.

Truth.

Julie PlecThe last few episodes of The Vampire Diaries have been eventful, to say the least, so it’s time for some postmortems: executive producer Julie Plec has done a bunch of interviews in the wake of the big, huge events of Down the Rabbit Hole (EP414) and Stand by Me (EP415), but we don’t want to risk spoiling anyone in the U.K. or other countries that aren’t quite up to date with the show. And these interviews, obviously, are really spoilery. So we’re giving you the links, and you can read at your own risk. Enjoy!

The CW has also released a new promo for the March 14th return of the show, called “Losing Control.” It doesn’t look like there’s much (if any) new footage, but ooh, shiny:

XXIt’s no surprise that Joseph Morgan is in high demand for interviews right now, between the goings-on with Klaus on The Vampire Diaries and the upcoming spinoff The Originals, there are a lot of questions begging for answers. Fortunately, E!Online, Zap2it and TVLine are all on the case, we’ve gathered the interviews up in a group for your reading pleasure.

First up, Joseph talks The Originals with E!Online.

Morgan teases that fans can expect the spinoff to be “a little more adult, a little more kind of gothic because these are old time Vampires here.”
And finally, he says, “It’s just so tremendously exciting for me, I’m so eager to get started on it. I really can’t wait, and I really hope people like it. I’m going to put my whole heart and soul into it.”

Zap2it asked the actor about the situation between Klaus and Caroline after last week’s emotional episode.

“I think she was being genuine,” he says. “The way Candice played it, she was being genuine. I also think it’s more interesting if she was — it sort of adds a level of complexity to her character, rather than, ‘Oh, we’re playing another thing on Klaus.’ It’s more if it comes from a genuine place. As an actor and a character, I bought into it.”

TVLine wants to know if Klaus has any romance coming up. Joseph says yes, but declines to say who with. Speculations welcome in comments!

TVLINE: Will Klaus ever get lucky in love? He has to be the most celibate vampire in Mystic Falls.
[Joseph Morgan]
Yeah, he’s going to get some action.

Candice Accola as CarolineZap2it has your first look at January 17th’s new episode After School Special (EP410) in the form of an episode still – but beware, the article is pretty spoilery. It details a situation reminiscent of one of your favorite teen movies that several characters will find themselves in, as well as what’s going on with a certain vacant town office.

Joseph Morgan as KlausEveryone’s been caught up in the sire storyline, but in tonight’s mid-season finale, O Come, All Ye Faithful (EP409), there’s plenty of other drama going on as well – and much of it involves Klaus. TVLine recently caught up with Joseph Morgan to talk about Klaus’s take on Caroline, Tyler, and the way everyone is trying to play him this season. But does he have mixed feelings about Tyler’s power grab?

TVLINE | Is there a part of Klaus that’s a little proud of Tyler despite the fact that he’s trying to take him down? Here’s this hybrid he created and raised, so to speak, who’s now grown up and is taking power.
That’s a really interesting question. I have not been asked that before. I think possibly, yes. I would like to think so. It’s a bold move and one that Klaus might make himself in that situation. I would like to think there is, but that doesn’t mean he’ll go any easier on Tyler when he does find out. But I like that idea very much!

And over at Zap2it, Joseph talks about how he enjoys the way his character has become increasingly complex:

“I do like it, because it’s something different,” he says. “Working with Candice [Accola] is wonderful, obviously, and I love exploring the great range that the writers have given Klaus this season. Last year, when they brought in Rebekah and the family, I was very pleased because it gave us a chance to see a new side of Klaus, to see the way he is with people he cares about, people he’s close to. This is like that in that with a love interest, it’s a whole new element to him to explore.”

EW & Zap2It Interviews with Candice AccolaAnother Thursday, another new episode of The Vampire Diaries, and another round of fantastic interviews with Candice Accola. First up, Candice talks “Klaus, Miss Mystic Falls, and a Winter Wonderland” with Entertainment Weekly:

Caroline has definitely, in the past, used Klaus’ feelings toward her to distract him so that they can execute their plan and try to get ahead and beat Klaus at his own game. So we’ve seen this before, and we will definitely see it again. Caroline knows the kind of hold that she has over Klaus. I don’t think that she necessarily trusts fully that he will never just switch on a dime — I don’t think anyone can.

READ THE ENTIRE INTERVIEW AT ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY.

And Zap2It brings up the chemistry between Caroline and Stefan (alongside a lot of other topics):

I think Caroline’s biggest struggle is parallel to Stefan’s biggest struggle. This is a season of Caroline just really wanting to do the right thing, and to do the right thing by the people that she cares about. She recognizes what the right thing is, and she can’t ignore it. She wants to do the right thing. It coincides with Stefan, who just wants so hard to do the right thing and to have Elena grow and experience being a vampire in a perfect, safe, right way. He’s almost re-doing the way that he became a vampire through Elena. He’s getting another chance, and he wants things to go a certain way, even if it’s not necessarily the best thing for her, he wants it to be right.
