So here’s my deal: I am so over the pilot already. Those of us who know what’s in it do, we’ve seen some hefty sneak peeks, etc. What most reviewers don’t care about that TVD fans do is 1) the growth of the characters over time and 2) how the mythology plays out. There’s plenty of pilots I’ve found godawful/uninteresting/trite, and then I mainline the actual series like an addict. I don’t consider it an indication of how the ultimate arc will play out.

So of course people are going to take jabs at the basic idea of the main storyline, say it’s “Twilight Lite” – okay, fine. We get it. But the proof will be in the first 5-10 episodes, not just one 45-minute pilot. So if we could just fast-forward to September before I have to hear another person dismiss the fanbase as a bunch of teenage girls, that would be awesome, thanks.

Is anyone else tired of the use of “vamp”? It really makes me think: “Wowie! Theda Bara? Awesome!”

That may just be me, though.
