Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley have commented in various video interviews and magazine articles about the process of being transformed into vampires, and now we have some behind the scenes photos of Ian’s transformation into a vamped-out Damon Salvatore. It’s pretty fascinating, though we know some of you will prefer not to know in order to keep the magic of the Vampire Diaries intact so we won’t spoil you. ;) For those who are interested, you can find the images of the vamping process in the gallery and see what’s involved in turning Mr. Somerhalder into the scary-looking guy below.

http://www.vampire-diaries.net/gallery/displayimage.php?album=52&pos=6 This picture kinda scared me. But now I have evil plans against my friends. >:) *evil laugh*
Oh, and we have a goodish shot of the ring :D
Anyway, that is an interesting process. Though Ian didn’t look too happy in it, he looked pretty happy when it was over x]

By the way, what was the function of those dots on his face? I remember Paul talking about them once, but I don’t remember what he said.

I’m posting way too much (and I apologise about this.), but I had to point out that in the picture up there ^, the way Ian’s hair is set, it looks very much like he has elf ears. :D

And I totally remember Lexi having them in the close up preview for 162 Candles. I always thought it was odd they didn’t take them out somehow.

Yeah, they’re sclera lenses. I haven’t seen any yet, but if there aren’t any commercially available now, I’m sure they will be soon due to the popularity of the show. Keep an eye on places like Vampfangs.com. They have a range of lenses and get new stuff in on a regular basis.
