Fancast chats with Candice Accola about everything from Klaus and the particulars of the Curse of the Sun and the Moon to the book club she started for the women on TVD’s set. She also gives some hints about what fans can expect to see Caroline struggling with when the show returns on January 27th.

In the preview of the first post-hiatus episode, Caroline laments that everyone is kissing her. Can you give me some hints about what is happening?
The next episode is her figuring out what she wants. Now there’s options. She had to work her butt off to get Matt’s attention. For the first time she’s really occupied with what she wants in her own mind, where these guys are all coming to her. I think she’s a little overwhelmed. It was really funny to read the script. There’s a lot of kissing in this episode.

Television Without Pity names Nina Dobrev in its Year in Review 2010 list of TV’s Most Valuable Performers.

We were not exactly wowed by Nina Dobrev back in her days on Degrassi, but instead of staying in her little teen bubble (like fellow Degrassi alum Shenae Grimes, who is terrible on 90210), she has really grown into the role of Elena. Better still: she’s even more amazing when she’s playing the truly evil vampire Katherine. Double our viewing pleasure.

Finally, BuddyTV’s Fan Favorites of 2010 poll is open and Vampire Diaries is up for Best-Looking Cast, Best Non-Human (Damon Salvatore), and Best Bromance (Damon and – wait for it – Jeremy). So head over there and vote as many time as you’d like.
