We’ve had a steady stream of queries asking where one could buy Elena’s vervain necklace since the trinket was introduced in Friday Night Bites, but it looks like the CW has done fans one better. We first noticed that the official Vampire Diaries shop had replicas of Elena’s, Katherine’s, and Bonnie’s necklaces last week, but sadly they were already sold out. Good news: They’re back in stock and available for purchase (along with a few other goodies)! Click on the image to snag your own piece of TVD.
We eagerly await the Salvatore lapis rings and Caroline’s “lesbian friendship necklace.” ;)

Kelly, even if they aired episodes straight through the month of February, they’d run out of new episodes to show and would have to take a break anyway. The production is only three episodes ahead of airing. You can’t just film something and put it on TV the next day. Unless you don’t care about the quality. An episode takes a couple of weeks at the minimum to shoot and edit into some kind of reasonable facsimile of coherent stuff you’d want others to see. For instance, in “Children of the Damned”, I’m sure all of the scenes in the 1864 costumes were filmed at the same time and then spread out into the episode. Then there are special effects and everything … reshoots if they become necessary. It all takes time. I’d rather have the six week break now than have to tweak it along a couple of weeks at a time the whole rest of the season.

It’s obviously from early in the episode. Damon is still reading the grimoire and Stefan just returns from looking for Elena.

I don’t really like Elena’s necklace (the in stores one, I love the one on the show.) The one she actually wears in the show looks more tarnished and old fashioned. And SERIOUSLY!?!?!? THE PRICE!?!?!? Newsflash CW, we’re going through a recession right now.
