If I’m confused about Elena being confused on what brother she likes well the writers or Nina didn’t portray it last night. She seems like she’s still into Stefan way more than she shows that she’s into Damon. If we as an audience are suppose to feel for each brother, how come the writers only allow it to be clear as day with Stefan but completely off with Damon?

  • Riley

Urgh, it was just awful. From the hypocrisy of Stelena to the contrived Bonnie/Shrek coupling and the destruction of the greatest bromance ever.

  • Amanda

    IT WAS GREAT!

  • ihatepeople

Love your descriptions! Bonnie/Shrek. LMAO. The Ric moments were heartwrenching.

  • Guest

Shrek though? A little harsh don’t you think.

  • Canderella

I’ve just read them all through and reading the tv addict article, seeing all the headlines: Alaric, Klaus, Elena, Katherine, Stefan, Elena’s choice, Jeremy, Jeremy’s ring, Klaus again, Klaus, Caroline & Klaus, Tyler & Klaus, Matt & Elena, Matt & Rebekah, Meredith, Bonnie  —

WTF NO DAMON. No one ever is thinking about Damon, like he is a secondary even a fourth level character. Like he will manage, oh Damon, yes, the Delena thing, some brotherhood bonding in between and oh wait, maybe a new drinking buddy…  oh come on – there is much more to this guy.

  • http://www.facebook.com/ssjnnjen Thanh Uyên

Haven’t read any of this and now you’re making me want to skip it all. I mean, WTH really?!?

  • http://www.facebook.com/ssjnnjen Thanh Uyên

I don’t remember what happened in this episode, literally, except for the Dalaric scene. After watching the whole episode ONCE and the Dalaric scene for the third times, I now can’t bring myself to watch it again. Just looking at all the gifs about Dalaric makes me go all emotional and heavy inside. Everything else that happened, whatever it is, wasn’t strong enough. SE – SE ruins Elena @___@..Bonnie – no comment :/..Esther – all I want to know is how the hell can we kill her x-(..*emotional already*

  • karen

I completely agree with you, it’s really disgusting and annoying.

  • ihatepeople

That’s because they like to keep Damon as the punching bag. I can’t stand that. He is one of the reasons people watch. Damon is used only to do the dirty work and to reaffirm something we’ve been told from the beginning. Quit abusing him. He is a great character all on his own.

  • Kate

Hey folks, let’s cut out the negative comments about actors’ looks. Thanks.

  • Confused about TVD.net rules

Wait one second here…yesterday, underneath Ian’s interview, we had a back and forth going on regarding one poster downing Damon’s looks, and other posters trying to defend….and one moderator came in and said that it was OK to down Damon’s looks…but when any of the other characters are mentioned, all of a sudden it’s not ok? Come on…if it’s not ok to down the guy playing Jaimie, it really shouldn’t be ok to down the guy playing Damon…..what gives?

  • http://www.facebook.com/ssjnnjen Thanh Uyên

He gets all the emotional burdens. Alone and no one there to comfort him. I really dislike the fact that it’s been and still is Damon who does all the hard work yet Stefan is praised..

  • Riley

Damon gets shit on constantly. His only friend died.

Serously and Stefan waltzes in with his ‘you won’t be sad forever Elena’. Please! He has it so easy. His father loved him best. Everyone loved him best. He always had a friend, whether it be Lexi in his hard times or Klaus in ripper days.
    Damon is always alone.
And Jeremy, poor Jeremy, who’s lost four parent/parent figures and two girlfriends before his 18th birthday. Gah!
    I feel so sick.

  • Guest

Yea, I was one of the one’s defending Ian yesterday. While I disagreed with the poster, I don’t think she was trying to insult Ian. She just didn’t think he fit the part of Damon and that he looked older than what the character was supposed too. Okay I get it. It kinda goes overboard one starts calling the actors/actresses names and what not. Then you’re just being rude and mean for no reason.

  • ihatepeople

Yep. Some people are loved no matter what they do while others can never do enough to get just a little love. I have a hard time with that theme here. Also you’re right that people to seem to overlook that Jeremy lost a lot of people to not just Elena. He is definitely starting to change into a man and he seems to be getting understandably bitter about the vampire and supernatural occurrences plaguing his friends and family.

“A long goodbye ends with a hell of a twist”

The journey of Alaric Saltzman has been surprising and chaotic.  When we first met Alaric, he was a lonely vampire-hunter seeking to avenge his wife’s death. Then as he came to know our heroes of Mystic Falls, Alaric became a champion of protecting everyone and anything with a good heart, whether they were humans, vampires and werewolves.

Unfortunately, Klaus’ very determined mother Esther had other plans.  Ever since the day that Alaric put on that blasted resurrection ring, she had been plotting to use Alaric as a weapon to strike back at her wayward children – the Originals.   Carefully coaching Alaric’s alter-ego, the darkest side of him, Esther moulded and shaped him into a creature that would ruthlessly hunt down and kill the Originals.

Unfortunately, Esther failed to consult with Alaric about all this.  He was unconsciously becoming the one thing he truly feared – a monster.  To complete Alt-Alaric’s transformation into the ultimate vampire-hunter, Esther made him a vampire; and not just any vampire, but an Original.  She knew he would have to be a strong as her children if he was to combat them, and arming him with an indestructible white oak stake would not be enough.

Emotional episode~ I really get it now why Klaus hates & killed his own mother!

    *Elena worse than Katherine*

What is interesting is that Elena seems to be petrified of her feelings for Damon.  He is the “unknown.”  It is like playing with fire and she is afraid she’ll get burned.  But she should remember that Damon was faithful in his love for Katherine for over 160 years — until he found out that she had rejected him.  Damon, once he gives his love, it is forever, and unconditionally.  That kind of unhesitating, mad passionate, all consuming love scares Elena.  For the love she shares with Stefan is constant, but in a safe, steady way.  It is never a raging out of control fire that threatens to consume her.  Loving Stefan allows Elena to be in control of her emotions, and not out of control.  But should she have to play it safe with love?

And somehow TVD has become “let’s just kill off everyone Damon cares about” show :(.. “There’s only so much hurt a man can take” :(..

  • Dblokland

    Julie Plec on Bonnie:
“She was very clearly under some sort of witchy influence, which is really Bonnie’s issue now,” Plec said of her complicity in turning Alaric. “It’s like ‘Oh man, I’ve got vampires telling me what to do; I’ve got other people telling me what to do; and now I’ve got my freakin– my “”sisters”– the witches telling me what to do. Where’s my free will? Where’s my choice?’ That’s going to impact her character going forward.”

Will all this lead to Bonnie going Dark??? (pretty please with a cherry on top!!) :)

  • Riley

There’s only so much hurt this Damon-sympathising girl can take!

  • ihatepeople

I’m really curious about what relatives are burried in the Salvatore tomb. I know the mom died a long time ago but i’d be sad if my best friend died where my mom was burried.

    I feel your pain!!

    ஜ ۩ ஜ I Learnt A Few Lessons from “Do Not God Gentle” ஜ ۩ ஜ

There is no harm learning few lessons LOL:

۩It takes more than twice to be killed to get an apology from your bestie killer and whisky buddy

۩Drunk vampires can offer you a dream with rainbows and rolling green hills when your about to die…

۩Killing someone out of their misery is apparently referred to as “Mercy Killing”

۩Girls like Elena think like men these days ~ you can ask your ex out after making out with His brother.

۩Small town boys, small town world are not enough for girls like me.

۩No one needs crap speeches for being man of the house after…

۩Damn! Ex boyfriends can be sweet at times of vulnerability

۩Having mama drama like Klaus just rage at her corpse to feel much better

۩Being a witch comes at a price as you just have to be ready to lose your grandmother, mother, a boyfriend and soul to protect your friends.

۩With a witch like Esther all you need is bones of the human Salvatore family resting around, a hand and few drops of blood of a doppelganger to have A True Vampire hunter made…

۩Horrible advice can be very useful especially if it is from a girl you used to date.

۩Having two hybrid hotties fight over you extremely HOT.

۩Never knew Salt is a very handy accessory!

I’m so with you on this. They should have Bonnie go dark at least for a while.

  • ihatepeople

Absolutely Damon’s love is intense but that’s what breathes fire in their relationship. No matter how much she hurts him he will always be there when she needs him. He will never abandon her. Personally I’d rather have the all consuming love and die not regretting ever knowing what that felt like. That’s just me though.

  • ihatepeople

Like Bex said to Mikael Klaus wasn’t born a killer. Mikael and Esther turned them all into monsters. They had no right to decide their childrens’ fates like that then later for her to say “oops I shouldn’t have done that guess I better kill them now” is her deciding their fates for them yet again. What a controlling witch! Probably trying to buy her way into Heaven by “restoring balance to nature”. She didn’t care before about nature so it can only be for selfish reasons now.

  • ihatepeople

I know. They just love to destroy him emotionally then later say what a monster he is when he acts out because of his emotional pain. WTF? What do you expect when all you ever do is stomp on someone?

  • ihatepeople

I think that’s why sometimes I have a hard time sympathizing with Stefan’s character because in the end he’ll always be considered the best.

  • ihatepeople

I rewatched the episode again. I have to agree with you about SE ruining Elena. She had become stronger and more independent but as soon as she is back in SE mode she becomes childlike and dependent. It’s a regression for her character. Whatever.

I loved the look Damon gave Stefan like “dumbass” when Stefan asked Damon “do you think Alaric would go after Elena”. Classic. Looks like that’s exactly what he does next episode.

I didn’t notice the first time because the scene was so darkly lit that Damon had put the white oak stake in his pocket. Too bad it came out when he and Ric were drinking and he forgot it. Major boo boo.

Yeah Caroline still bugged the Hell out of me the second time wacthing it with her incessant whining about everything from who Elean should be with to pleading with Tyler about Klaus. I found it obnoxious.

  • Natalie

Actually, I don’t think it came out of his pocket, I think Esther being a conveniently super powerful, all-knowing, annoying witch possessed Bonnie to take it from him after he fell on the ground. You notice Bonnie was already holding a stake when she went inside the crypt. I had to rewatch that part because I wasn’t really paying attention.
Anyways, I agree about Caroline. It wasn’t a surprise for me that she’s on Stefan’s side, but this is about Elena and her decision. And I find it hilarious that nobody acknowledges all he’s done this season. I mean, yes, Damon made a lot of mistakes in the past but people are only eager to forgive and forget when it comes to Stefan. Like someone excellently pointed out, both Damon and Stefan do good and bad, but Damon is constantly judged for the bad and Stefan praised for the good. I don’t think that’ll ever change. Also, I had to laugh when Caroline used the word epic. Do we really need to be reminded of that all the time? You’d think people can judge for themselves if they find their love story epic or not. Oh well…

  • fantasysux

absolutely true…but remember TVD is good at manipulating us the fans, it can change Esther into a lovable character….I hated uncle John but by the time he died I was his biggest fan

  • ihatepeople

I know right? The word “epic” has been so overused to describe SE that it’s become barf worthy. I never expected Caroline to be anything but a Stefan supporter but as you’ve mentioned this is supposed to be Elena’s decision and she’s letting some bossy vamp friend who doesn’t have a great track record herself to push her into which way she just HAS to go. Like Caroline who jumps from guy to guy would even know what constitutes an “epic” love. She is just a controlling vamp who knows how to push her friends around that includes Matt. No wonder she needs someone arrogant like Tyler.

You know you’re right about the stake. I completely missed that but Bonnie did have it. Good catch.

Speaking of the forgiving Stefan thing, I’m rewatching season 1 during my workouts. I just saw “Children of the Damned” where they flashback to Stefan letting his father in on Katherine being a vamp despite Damon begging him not to and Stefan promising he wouldn’t. Everyone seems to conveniently forget the times Stefan betrayed Damon especially early on. Stefan admitted to Elena in this episode that it was his fault what happened with Katherine because he betrayed Damon’s trust. She just poo pooed it away with a “you didn’t do anything wrong comment”. Seriously? And how blantantly mean their father was to Damon about him being a disappointment for leaving the army. Here’s a thought people maybe just maybe Damon behaved the way he did in the past because everyone he was suppose to trust either betrayed him or didn’t love and accept him. Duh! The first person to actually show Damon could trust him was Ric. I think he trusted Ric before he trusted Elena. Elena lied to Damon a few times he trusted her early on for Stefan. Well we see they’ve now killed off the only person he could truly trust and have turned him into the complete opposite of what he was leaving Damon once again with no one. After everything he’s done to redeem himself he is still getting screwed over even by Elena and his brother (I’m referring to Stefan sending him on that trip with Elena to have his feelings toyed with only to return and have Stefan take Elena to the dance).

  • ihatepeople

Haha. True. I actually didn’t care for Bex or Klaus when they were introduced but now it’s hard not to even when they’re being bad.
