    I agree with you to some extent about it being the Stefan and Elena show. The story was certainly set up to focus on the two primary characters… They had no idea how big the Damon character was going to be on this show, or the chemistry that built between him and Elena.
    Where I disagree is that writers start the story and it takes on a life of it’s own, and they gotta go where the story takes them… Regardless of who is shipping what! Otherwise it feels forced and unrealistic.
    If you are saying that somehow it was promised that Elena and Stefan were always going to be together, and their fans have reason to be upset that there might be a triangle, well that is just not substantiated. The fans behaving childishly and throwing a tantrum till they get their way is not something writers should be appeasing.
    I do have to say though, they have been telling this story of Damon andElena for over two seasons just to pull the rug out in a matter of seconds… That IS pretty
