Even in 4×07, after Elena told Damon she and Stefan broke up because of him, Damon still tried to cover for Stefan re what he was doing with Jeremy. Damon *knew* that’s where Jeremy was, but he made up a story to calm Elena down and called Stefan right away to try and reason with him.

Damon is very protective of Stefan. In some ways he treats him more like a son than a brother.

Kind of ironic since Stefan seems to point out only Damon’s bad deeds.

Stefan will not learn until he fully integrates the two sides of himself and stops trying to define his character solely in comparison to Damon. Neither one of them is all bad or all good, but it really sucks that Stefan genuinely thinks he’s better than Damon. It infuriates me.

I have no idea. I think he just put her on the spot because she trusts Damon so she hasn’t been that troubled by the sire bond like everyone else has. She believes what Tyler told her about how it works and she knows Damon is concerned about taking advantage of her.

I know , Damon can never keep things from Elena, he did tell her. I was just sort of irritated that in such a scene, people still find Damon guilty , when his intention there was clear: defend Stefan and let her understand that it’s more to i t(not a betrayal as she thought).

I just keep hoping that Stef will encourage Damon, but it’s got to be hard. I mean he loves Elena and this whole SB crap. But what bothers me about Stefan’s denial is that he heard it from Nandi’s mouth and he knows, Elena had these feelings before she turned. Hell, he even sent her off to Denver to figure it out. It’s his denial that bothers me and I want him to grow and change because I’m convinced the perfect vamp Stef is in there.

I guess after all this time, Damon kept doing what Elena wanted and that was to be with and love Stefan, so Damon did whatever to make sure she had what she wanted…Stefan. But now the tables are turned (excluding SB), he should reciprocate. Plus his brother could use some kind of support from him instead of slamming him.

I do have hope that Stefan will actually accept that Elena has feelings for Damon , which are not due to the SB( that confusing thing that should influence only actions and not feelings…), and that Damon is selfless with Elena and didn’t abuse the SB to make Elena act differently.

It is not easy, he loves Elena , but he should be able to be selfless with her. His love is some of self-indulging and at this point is not helping anybody,not even Stefan.
He needs to come out of his denial and admit Damon is not the “bad” guy, accept it and even help Damon see that distancing himself from Elena won’t help, but hurt more.
Damon wants it to be real, and since he found out about the SB, he doubts it. After everybody keeps telling him how Elena will go back to Stefan and considering his insecurity( rejections and lack of love, and Stefan’s label for Damon – “bad” brother), he is doing the self-destructive default move. If the encouragement will come from Stefan ( Grow Up, Stefan!!), Damon would get finally the recognition I expect since season 2. He will be surprised, remember in Bourbon Street ep., he was shocked Stefan said “I’m sorry”., but it would be the encouragement Damon wants the most.
With slamming, Damon is used, but support from Stefan, I’d like to see Damon’s face to that.

Not to detract from the sadness of the story, but I can’t help but think about the dilemma of getting a body back to MF from Nova Scotia, which is traveling from an Canadian island in the North Atlantic to a U. S. Gulf Coast State, even if Atlanta is in the north of Georgia. They probably would have had to compel their way back to MF to keep from arousing suspicion. Paul Wesley certainly can portray the most somber expression where understand that something is probably terribly wrong.

Well thought out conclusions, I see the truth in what your thinking. My problem with the ” It’s complicated” was it was it was so worthless if that was Damon’s reason. He could have been more honest and still not reveal the cure.

What is it with these rumors flying around saying Elena is going to sleep with someone who isnt either of the brothers…ive heard ppl going as far as saying Klaus…now i think that is over the border extreme for that to happen….im gettin nervous about this whole new level of Elena we are about to experiance

Well not the perfect one for me..ive had a fair share of the bad boys…I like Damon and can tolerate him sometimes but im a hardcore Stefan lover haha…i just hope they can both work together and help Elena get thru her destruction towards rock bottom because they are making it seem like no one will be able to help her…maybe we will see Katherine 2.0 since Karherines entire family was wiped out as well thus making her the way she is and they are dopplegangers so who knows

Is that about right? So your not really saying what you think, or what you truly believe, your just trying to create a good debate. Interesting.

Ya see, the only thing wrong with this is that the rest of us are actually giving our honest opinions… Biased towards Damon not with standing, and would probably appreciate the same from you. We don’t post on here just to start a debate. It’s not a game we’re playing. We love the show and it’s very complex story lines and characters and we are vested in them. They mean something to us. And no I’m not crazy. I know it’s a tv show and that it’s not real. But in order for a show like this to continue on season after season, the viewers have to become vested. We have to care or we won’t watch. So this site becomes a special place where we can share our thoughts and feeling. Where we can share ideas and ask questions. Where we can commiserate with others like ourselves. Honestly

So, if you are only here to stir the pot and create drama, then fine. I don’t like it or appreciate it, but at least now I understand you. Thanks for explaining.
