Now, doubtless the minority who voted ‘No’ are extremely vocal in their opposition.  At least, there were some very critical remarks in the comments on TVGuide’s website, but I didn’t bother reading them all because in no time at all, it descends into chaos and mud-slinging.  Lets remember that it’s a fantasy show about vampires, which features lots of blood, gore, killing, violence etc.  Does anybody say ‘I think this show is wrong for being so violent’?'  Well, do they?  Then when it gets to the love triangle, people become  peculiarly squeamish and start preaching about morality and values and how ‘wrong’ it would be for Elena to sleep with Damon, and that Delena sex equals the destruction of everything holy, and the show should be re-named The Jerry Springer Show.  Come on!  It’s a fantasy TV show.  Don’t take it so seriously!   It was 1×10 when Elena sealed the deal with Stefan.  She didn’t know his past life as a ripper.  She didn’t know about Katherine.  If you’re gonna take the moral high ground, should Elena really have slept with Stefan when she knew so little about him?  At least if DE ever do, then it’s with knowing all there is to know about each other.  That’s all I will say.

As both a TVD fan and an aspiring television and film writer Shannon’s video brought me to tears! I hope that one day I can create something that engenders such a response… I’m sure that Julie and Kevin had the most amazing reactions to this video. Because, truly, as a writer, produce, creator all you want to do is make an impression and get a ‘nod’ – negative or positive. To do so on the scale that TVD has is definitely something to be proud of! (And as we are often truthfully told, fans are the power that drives any show – so kudos to us!)
