The Vampire Diaries TV SeriesWeird seeing a fandom pet name pop up in TV Guide Magazine. William Keck has just posted that actor James Remar, aka Harry Morgan from Dexter (aka One of the Greatest TV Shows There Ever Was), has been cast as Giuseppe Salvatore (Stefan and Damon’s father). He starts filming December 2nd and also reveals he may be making more than one appearance on the show.

Keck: You seem like a great choice to play Papa Salvatore. How did you get the role?
Remar: I was brought in by Marcos Siega, who has directed several episodes of Dexter and Vampire Diaries. He’s now the show runner on Vampire Diaries and thought I’d be right for this role.

Check out the interview at TV Guide Magazine. (Two of my favorite things colliding – thanks, Marcos!)

This is awesome news. And shows how awesome networking can be.

Now if only Marcos Siega can get Michael C. Hall to guest star.

Or better yet DARLA aka Julie Benz. XD THAT’S a girl who can play an evil vampire.  (Quote)

I am so thrilled about this, I can’t even tell you. Love Dexter! And James Remar! Hopefully they’ll find a way to keep him around for a while. :)  (Quote)

This is awesome news. I never really thought of Remar as an Italian daddy type, but loved him in Dexter, Sex & the City, and Jericho, so I’m sure he’ll be great.  (Quote)

WOW, DO THE PEOPLE AT VAMPIRE DIARIES EVER HAVE EXCELLENT MINDS. I LOVE HIS ACTING, EVERY SHOW I HAVE SEEN HIM IN HIS ACTING WAS GREAT. SERIOUSLY THE VAMPIRE DIARIES CONTINUES TO GET BETTER AND BETTER. OTHER SHOWS REALLY DO HAVE THERE WORK CUT OUT FOR THEM, I CAN’T SEE ANYONE BEATING THE ACTORS ON VAMPIRE DIARIES. I LOVE CHRISTMAS NOW I CAN’T WAIT FOR IT TO BE OVER BECAUSE THAT MEANS JANUARY 14 WILL BE HERE.  (Quote)

    Hello

Just curious what you thought of him in “Sex & The City” as Richard Wright…  (Quote)

It would be cool if they did a flash back of when Damon was telling him he was not going back to school and when he was telling Damon and Katherine not to go by the lemon tree or something like that! Just saying=D  (Quote)
