Julie PlecThe last few episodes of The Vampire Diaries have been eventful, to say the least, so it’s time for some postmortems: executive producer Julie Plec has done a bunch of interviews in the wake of the big, huge events of Down the Rabbit Hole (EP414) and Stand by Me (EP415), but we don’t want to risk spoiling anyone in the U.K. or other countries that aren’t quite up to date with the show. And these interviews, obviously, are really spoilery. So we’re giving you the links, and you can read at your own risk. Enjoy!

The CW has also released a new promo for the March 14th return of the show, called “Losing Control.” It doesn’t look like there’s much (if any) new footage, but ooh, shiny:

This is not a new promo. It was released 2 weeks ago as a second extended preview for 4×15.The only change is that instead of ‘next Thursday’,it says ‘March 14th’.

Supernatural theme and how those brothers acquired non-ageing features are really astounding. Say something about The Vampire Diaries

So also the plot, i think the show is going down hill because everyone i know that watched it are now just watching it for watching sake. The intrigue is no more there and i believe they killed it when they let Elena slept with Damon, any other thing its OK, the sb, cure, humanity turned off etc but them sleeping together is just so Damaging. show or no show, they are brothers for Christ sake, and wanting to now make them friends is just far disgusting for me. and JP not always wanting to give any thing away is just a desperate move of wanting to prove provoking to me, even the network that have the biggest stake gives out synopsis.

You are mistaken about Ms. Plec not giving stuff away. I was surprised that she said the things she said. Lots of people have been thinking that Klaus might have been working with Katherine, but according to what JP said, unless she is deliberately misleading everyone, Klaus is not working with Katherine, because he will be worried about her having the cure, and what she means to do with it. Also, that he is going to be one of the ones that realizes that its Silas affecting Bonnie’s actions. I think that she also may have hinted at the fact that Elena’s now “emotionless” state will short circuit the SB, so there will be a great irony there in that they will still end up in the situation that they were trying to avoid, and that was an Elena that they couldn’t control.

The intrigue stopped for me in season 3 and based on the comments I’ve read some fans have been wondering whether or not to stop watching the show for various reasons since last year too. Some fans are annoyed for the SB but I think the problems started long before that.

I enjoyed reading all of Julie’s interviews, but I really liked the one with TVLine the best. I don’t want to know too much, but it is nice to know a little. I am enjoying the storyline this season and I think Julie and her writing team are doing a very good job. The only itty bitty complaint I have so far was the Caroline voice over during the hot sex scene between Damon and Elena. I mean really, Caroline and Stefan could have talked about the sire bond before or after that scene, but not during it. Talk about throwing ice water on the Delena and Damon fans! As a Damon fan, I would like a redo.

I know a lot of people that have started watching the show and really love it. As a Damon fan, I don’t think Damon and Elena sleeping together damaged the show at all. It has been a long time coming, but it still has not reached its climax. There is a lot of love story to tell regarding Damon and Elena. It is just a slow burn.

I have two complaints: this one, for sure, and that we didn’t get a decent reunion scene after the phone call. I’m not greedy, but at least a kiss seemed appropriate!

The one piece of information that interested me the most is the Gilbert ring. She said that while the Gilbert ring will not be used for a while, it will come into play later. This statement makes me wonder exactly what she means. The interviewer asked “Why not just give the Gilbert ring to Matt?” This would make the most sense. However, Julie didn’t say that they would give it to him. She only said something will occur with ring later. I’m just curious as to what she meant.

Some are theorizing that Damon will turn human so this could be foreshadowing or Damon just happened to be the closest one to her.

Aleric’s ring got turned into the ultimate vamp weapon. Could Jeremy’s be instrumental in the demise of Silas? Just a thought.

  • Damonforever

Interesting thought. I’m not sure that her throwing it to him was because he was closest. She is a vamp. She can throw it to someone further. If Damon becomes human, wouldn’t it be simple enough for him to become a vampire again. He would just need someone to feed him blood and then kill him. Elena couldn’t do it because then they would risk him being sired to her lol. It would have to come from someone else

  • Damonforever

Hmm I wonder how this would come about. That sounds like a cool idea

I actually liked all of the interviews, the one with TV Line being my favorite as it was more in depth. I was also on the fence when I found out there was a “cure” because I’m a firm believer in our vamps should stay vamps, but I have to admit I’ve loved this season so far. Sure, there have been moments I haven’t been fond of, but overall this season has been really good.

I’m really looking forward to seeing Elena with her switch off, looking forward to he giving the brothers a run for their money, and really looking forward to finding out more about Silas and what he’s up to. Also, really looking forward to The Originals and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it gets picked up to series.

Funny that you say that everyone you know who’s watching TVD is just watching for the sake of watching…..I’ve actually gotten several people that I know from work hooked on it and all my friends thoroughly enjoy it. Most are happy that we’ve moved on from the Stefan Elena relationship seeing as how that was going on for 3 seasons and we grew bored with it. That being said, most of my friends generally like both brothers for different reasons. We all love Stefan with Rebekah but are waiting to see if we like Damon with Elena…,All of us agree that Elena is frustrating, but we also all agree that she’s still young and being young means being frustrating (we all have kids and/or teenagers).. Oh, and none of us think that Elena sleeping with Damon was damaging (I mean, they are fictional characters after all), we actually thought it was hot but where a tad disappointed that we got a voice over via Caroline. All of my friends adore the Originals (all of them) and are excited for the “spin off”, which we will all be watching if picked up to series, of course. All of us play the guessing game on trying to figure out what’s next and it’s quite funny because whoever guesses right gets lunch bought for them. In other words, none of my friends watch this show just to watch it. It’s still the only show that causes my office to empty at 4:00 on the dot because none of us want to miss it. This can only mean that TVD is doing something right because the people I know who watch it truly enjpy the on going story.

Julie and the other writers have to stop using the sire bond …its cheap and the delana fans have gotten ripped off ..Damon fans are getting ripped off …none of it makes any sense
