The Vampire Diaries TV SeriesThe L.A. Times has a fantastic interview with Kevin Williamson, where he touches on everything from high school as one big horror movie, the importance of Marcos Siega as supervising producer, how the cast of The Vampire Diaries came to be (and yes, he touches on The Hair Affair), and the scene he can’t wait to write.

We’re going to have some more flashbacks. Of course we are. We haven’t written them yet, but we’ve got an episode in the planning stages. One of the stories I’m most looking forward to is the night that Damon and Stefan died. That’s one of the biggest moments. I can’t wait to tell that story of how they died and their transformations.

Kayla Ewell chats with Fancast about Vicki’s transformation, filming the underwear dancing scene with Ian Somerhalder, how much fun she has playing Vicki, and hints at what to expect in tonight’s new episode, Haunted:

Which guy from Vicki’s life would you say is in greater jeopardy – Jeremy, Tyler or Matt?
I don’t think Vicki would feed on her brother, so Tyler or Jeremy – but for different reasons. Tyler because Vicki doesn’t like him right now, and with Jeremy, there’s this whole thing where when you get sexually aroused you want to feed on someone. That gets to be a problem.

E!Online’s Watch with Kristin has a few quotes from TVD cast members about tonight’s episode and warns: “Get Ready to be Shocked and Confused.”

“There’s actually so many surprises, and it [something] is very much a shocker to audiences,” star Paul Wesley (Stefan) told us during a break on set. “It’s a sort of brutal-and-violent-and-sudden-and-out-of-nowhere-something that happens, and I think people will be very shocked and confused. Blindsided I should say.”

Katerina Graham talks about the cast’s friendship with each other over at Hollywood Crush:

Kat said she thinks the reason the show has caught on with viewers is because of the real-life relationships the cast members have with one another. “I think the reason certain shows succeed and certain shows fail is because you can’t trick an audience, no matter if they’re 10-years-old or 45. People just know what’s real and what’s not. On our show, we go out of our way to make sure that we connect with everyone. I said before — and this is my Bonnie-ism coming out — the reason that the show is a success [is because of] how we are and the love that we have for each other. And the fans of course! Without that chemistry and that bond, I don’t know how successful the show would be.”

Here’s another reminder that the People’s Choice Awards nominations are still running! Head over to their site and vote Vampire Diaries into the category! Only the top five vote-getters will actually make it into the final round of voting.

Kat filmed an appearance on BET’s Mo’Nique show yesterday and she says it will air next week. We also have word that another cast member will pop up as a guest on the late night talk show circuit within the next two weeks, but we’re waiting for the show’s official schedule to post. Keep an eye here on the blog for dates and times!

An interview with Nina Dobrev is featured in the November issue of Savvy magazine.

And, finally, Television Without Pity asks: Are Dawson’s Creek and Vampire Diaries really the same show?
