The L.A. Times’ Carina MacKenzie continues her Vampire Diaries cast interview streak, this time with the “lucky” Sara Canning. She discusses Jenna’s uncertain future with Alaric, having Nina Dobrev as a roommate, and who she thinks is the funniest cast member on set.
It may seem that Jenna is the only character without a dark, secret past, but Sara warns us that appearances may be deceiving. “Jenna has skeletons in her closet. I’m sure of it,” she says. “Jenna’s had a bit of a crazy past. She was a partier. She’s experimented with drugs; she’s had rough patches with guys. We’re going to find out more about her relationship with her sister.”

Right now, Jenna is oblivious to all the vampire stuff going on. Will she find out about everyone’s secrets soon?
I think that Jenna’s getting closer to the realization that all is not as it seems in Mystic Falls. She’s perceptive. Though her life is very hectic, she also has a large awareness of how her niece and nephew are dealing with what’s going on in their lives. I’d love to see how she deals with the knowledge that they’re hanging out with vampires and a witch after school.
