More TVD Casting News: Persia White To Play Bonnie’s Mother

More TVD Casting News: Persia White To Play Bonnie's Mother More exclusive Vampire Diaries casting news, this time from Entertainment Weekly‘s Mandi Bierly: Persia White, known for her role as Lynn on Girlfriends (she’s also had spots on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel!), has been cast as Abby Bennett, the mother of our resident witch Bonnie.

She’ll first appear in episode 312 and recur. Abby is described as a beautiful but troubled woman who is burdened by the secrets of her past that led her to leave Bonnie. She’s also “as determined and fiery as any Bennett woman.”

Yes yes YES!!!! I’ve been waiting for this since the beginning of Bonnie’s story!!! Finally we get to find out why she left Bonnie and her family (which I suspect has something to do with Mikeal) I cannot wait!!!

Well, the actress playing Grams was like in her 40s. And I have seen pictures of Kat mom in real life, she is hot and looks very young.

Wait a minute, I thought Bonnie’s dad was Grams’ kid. Or did I just misunderstand when Grams talked about Bonnie’s dad in season 1? Yeah, come to think of it, it did sound like a in-law relationship. What’s up with this town and kids having the mom’s last name? Did we ever figure out if Sheriff or Mr. Forbes was the real Forbes, because both said “my family has always hated vampires”? Same thing here I guess.

Ahhhhh- Bonnie’s getting a mom…..but troubled past? So should I be happy for Bonnie or not? Bonnie has had a tough time of it, so I don’t want to see more heartbreak for her:(

I remember Grams telling Bonnie that Bonnie’s father was against Bonnie learning or using magic because of what it did to her mother. I know Bonnie’s mom left when Bonnie was very young, but I don’t think they gave an exact age. At least Bonnie’s mother will show up and the audience will get to meet her, but I have a feeling it may not be a happy reunion.

The actress, Persia White, is not an actress I am familiar with, but she appears to be a good match as Bonnie’s mother.

Thanks. Persia was in a show called Girlfriends. She was good but it was a comedy. In fact, I have only scene her in comedies, she is funny, I know that.

Are you serious?! Liz who was barely there for Caroline when she was human. Liz who didn’t want to see her own daughter when she first found out Caroline was a vamp and then plotted against her with Matt the second time she found out? I like how Liz has grown but I would hardly call her the ideal parent…or even “nice” for that matter. But everyone’s entitled to their opinion. :)

I love Persia White. However, I just can’t see her being a mother. But she’d play a good crack head. lol So I can see her also playing troubled. Not sure how I feel about this.

When I first saw this picture of her, I was like OMG! This girl is absolutely stunning!! All the vampires including Klaus will bow down to her! Bonnie is lucky to have a pretty mom! I can’t wait to see the episode that she will be appearing in!
