In early February, Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, and Ian Somerhalder took part in a major Warner Bros. “Mondo” promo shoot and these relatively lengthy videos seem to be from that session. These are great, touching on many aspects of Elena, Katherine, Stefan, Damon, the show in general, the fans, even the music. Thanks to ONTD for the heads up.

He really is an amazing man. I’m sorry if I sound redundant but you don’t come across people like him very often. It feels like he’s one of those people you get to meet or know once in a life time. I feel the same way about the entire TVD community in varying degrees. All in all I’m honored to be in such company.

    Hi Debbie
Some of the other websites have done a survey regarding age groups. Recently one was done and it showed by far the age group between 20 – 40 yielded the majority with below age 20 coming in next, and the 40-50 coming in very strong. It also reflected 60 and above as being avid fans of the show. It is amazing how this show successfully attracts different age groups. This website by far is gets the most hits. It would be nice to have a survey here too once the show returns on April 7th.

Hi Iansfan- If you like orgies then Season 2 is ok- personally, I didn’t much care for it. I did like the storyline of Bill, Sookie & Eric going to Dallas. I won’t give to much away, but I ended up fast forwarding through half of season 2 because of all the orgies going on. I watched the Bill, Sookie & Eric’s storyline because it was ten times better. That being said, if you really want to know what happens to Bill & Sookie, by the books by Charlaine Harris- they are MUCH better than the show. It’s her Southern Vampire series (also called the Sookie Stackhouse series).

By the end of season 3, Bill & Sookie have broken up (because he had been lying to her all along about something very important) and Sookie ends up going some place that’s very strange (I can’t tell you where because that would ruin it for you). She has also begun to fantasize about Eric (whom I like much better than Bill- due to his new haircut in early season 2- if you do end up buying season 2- you’ll understand how that haircut come about- in a truly gruesome sort of way, it’s hysterical). Anyway, I’ll most likely watch season 4 of TB as soon as it starts back up, (Sookie starts to get more involved with Eric and if the writers stay true to the books) but still, it’s not as good as TVD and most likely never will be. I thank my lucky stars Ian did not end up on TB and that he made his way to TVD every time a new season of TB comes out:) That’s just my opinion, don’t mean to offend any TB fans out there.

Trust me germantvd fan, by the times you really get into TB- you’ll be more fascinated with Eric…..especially when he gets his new haircut:)

Hi Iansfan- I take it as my “duty”to represent our age group- I will most definitely point out that all of my Vampire Diaries. Net friends are a bit older than the teen/tween category:)

    Hi Rehabber,
While the show is extremely popular with the tween and teens, I sometimes wonder if Ian realizes how this show transcends through the different age groups. Since I am going to the Eyecon on Sunday, if given the opportunity, which is a big if, I’ll mention to him how HUGE the fan base is of the “older” generation. :)
I have the tickets for his Q & A session regarding his foundation and to get his autograph in person. (hoping for a kiss on the cheek or hand)

That’s awesome Rehabber- I need to get one of those stickers for my little green Chevy Tracker:) I could see my cruising around Atlanta with the top off this summer with a sticker that says “Damon Rules” on my window:) LOL! My kids will think their mom has finally lost it:)

  • Schwertkrabbe

thanks for this post! Love your site! By the way I’m a fotographer and found my own Damon doubleganger – although a bit younger *g*: http://www.fotocommunity.de/pc/pc/display/24162316

The similarity is funny, you can repost the pic if you like, but please credit me ^^

Same here Rehabber- my favorite show is TVD, followed by Supernatural. I love my Winchester boys:)…all in all, the CW has two of my favorite shows on TV:)

Bonjour Damon! Haha, I laughed so hard. : D Ian seems so deep, you gotta love him! And Nina, what can I say? Wonderful!

Whole TVD, has changed my life, I’m not joking! When I feel sad, scared, anxious or depressed, I turn on the Vampire Diaries. Thank staff and cast of TVD!

    Hi VampLover,
I belong in the age group over 30 and younger than 60 :)

Some of us are teachers, as mentioned above, and you are in accounting. My background is sales/marketing for a large pharmaceutical company, as well as being an administrative assistant to the President and Vice President of Sales within different industries. Give me sales and marketing any day of the week to being an administrative assistant. I much prefer working at my own pace.

Like you, it was Ian Somerhalder as Damon Salvatore that got me hooked on this show. He had me at “hello brother” and the thrill ride continues. On Thursday nights I am sitting in front of the TV by 7:50pm, dinner cooked, served and cleaned up, phone unplugged, 3 little doggies fed and walked. This show is my “guilty pleasure” and no one in my household will dare take it away from me.

I am so jealous that you are going to be even in the same room with Ian. :) Make sure you let him know there are lots of older fans that love the show.

As far as your kids thinking you have lost it, I have just gotten my sons, that have grand kids of their own, to watch the show. But when I am naming all my rescue baby squirrels after characters in TVD, Moonlight, Buffy and Angel they are thinking about sending men in white coats. I also have a “Spike Lives” and a “Happy Vampire is a full Vampire” on my truck. LOL

  • Anonymous

So jealous here, just be sure and let Ian and anyone else from the show know we love the show also. Maybe if they talked about us, more “mature” folks would take a chance on the show. Hope you get your kiss.

  • Anonymous

That is just AWESOME! Don’t ever let anyone change who you are because you love what you love:)

You know, I can’t get over the very wide age group of all the fans of this show. It makes me proud to be able to chat with all of you. Hearing Ian’s interview, and understanding what he stands for, and believing in everything he’s trying to do for our little “furry friends” and the environment, well…I guess it just makes me happy that he’s able to do this because of all the truly awesome fans, like us, that are out their:)

I have liked vamps even in high school, but never fell for one until Spike and now of course Damon. One of my Flying Squirrels was named Dracula and 2 of my Gray Squirrels that have been free for almost 4 years still come running up to me for a pecan, they are Spike and Dru. It is a good thing I am in the country or the neighbors would think I was even more strange. :)

  • Debbie

    Rehabber,

Do you know if they make bumper stickers that are like “clings?” My husband won’t let me put bumper stickers on the cars because of the fading of the paint. I need the kind that go on the glass. The magnet kind would be great too!

    To VampLover & GeorgiaPeach,
That is so funny! I’m the same way on Thurs. nights. No one had better mess with me when my show is on. If you come in the room, no talking allowed!

  • laney

Hey Georgia Peach! Go to your private messages in the discussion forum, i wanted to share something with you. And ask you something as well. thanks

  • eve

Hi Georgia Peach, I had to laugh when I read your comment. Sounds like my Thursday night. LOL Couple of differences, in Toronto it’s on a little too early…7pm. So I make sure that my dog has had a nice long walk. Thursday’s myself and friends like to indulge in our favorite fattening foods while watching…drooling over our favorite show and our favorite guy…Stefan. Everyone knows not to even think about contacting me between 6:55 – 8:05. LOL BTW, I teach 5th grade and at Christmas one of my students got me a mug that says Miss — and Stefan. Needless to say she gets alot of ‘A’s…LOL

    guilty pleasure…. I like it! :)

  • Anonymous

LOL GP- I hear ya:) I’m fearlessly protective over my 1 hour Thursday night:) My dogs are even scared to bark:)

  • Sfinn85

Ian auditioned for the role of Jason Stackhouse, Sookie’s brother.

  • Sfinn85

Ian auditioned for the role of Jason Stackhouse, not Bill. :-)

  • MaryA

This is too much fun! I’m retired and going to Eyecon on Sunday. I went to Dracula and horror movies in grade school. Probably sounds strange but not much else to do in a small town. I missed the era of Buffy and Lost Boys but saw the Twilight movies which I loved. Damon (Ian) reminds me of the early Draculas who hypnotized their victims by saying, “look into my eyes….”

  • germantvdfan

oh thanks, I didn’t know that!

  • germantvdfan

Thanks Vamplover telling Ian about our age. I’m 52 Years old, also belong to the elder category!! and tell him, his fans from this site are spread over the whole world. I ENVY you so much!! and I will think of you this weekend. Enjoy it!

  • tina

Nice to hear from all three of them. Appreciated the fact Paul is aware that not all the fans are teen age girls and boys. I’m in my thirties and love the show. Hope Nina and Ian pick up on us older fans. lol

  • Paloma

    ARGENTINA! YES! Nina mentioned us!
